A Day of Reflections

Wednesday, March 16, 2011

Wow time goes by so quickly. 2 years ago today I was in the hospital giving birth to my youngest. emoticon Seems like yesterday! A lot has changed in the past 2 years, but on thing that will never change is my love for my girls. emoticon Everything was different with this one, except the Dr. and the Hospital! For the first time, I went into labor on my own. Sitting on my couch clipping coupons! Hubby was cleaning the garage and we had planned to get the last few things together for my trip to the hospital the next night. OOPS, plans changed fast!! The hospital staff was laughing at me as it was my 3rd, but I had no idea what to do, what was happening, etc. I explained that I don' t do it this way....3rd child or not I was lost! Things went pretty fast...another BIG difference (48 hours labor with first and 27 with second!) Unfortunately she came at 2am, so my other girls were home in bed. After trying to sleep a few hours, all we could think about was getting them to the hospital. When they got there, they were so happy. My 3 babies all together, happy and smiling. I knew it wouldn't last forever! lol

With my first child, I went back to work at 6 weeks. With my second, I was on bed rest for the first 11 months until my back surgery (and then of course longer then to recoup). With Riley I was finally able to spend quality time with her. In the guilt of not being able to do that with the others, I began trying to do everything I could with them. Now I have an even closer relationship with them! They say there were no issues and don't even remember what happened when they were babies, but I do. Now I feel we are whole. I realized I wanted this for the rest of my life. I also realized that would not be nearly as long as I wanted if I didn't do something.

First issue I addressed was my back. I started going to a pain clinic to relieve some pain so I could do more with my kids. Then this weight loss plan started! I didn't do very well the first attempt (well first since the baby...probably 100th overall!) but then I remembered I had joined this Spark People site but knew nothing about I looked into it again. What a change this has had on all aspects of my life. The girls see it more than anyone! I have more energy, feel better, do more with them, and most importantly am happier. Sure I haven't lost as much as I would have hoped my now, but these changes are more important!! Thanks Spark People for giving me and my girls my life back! emoticon

Beautiful story. We love our children, so we need to do our best to provide for them. That means we need to be OUR best selves -- physically, too! Enjoy the girls and take EVERY opportunity to let them know how precious they are and how much you love them!

WOW what a week it was. I told you all I felt it coming and boy did it. I was so sick for 3 days. I couldn't keep anything down and slept or was in the bathroom the whole time. I haven't been that sick for a long time. Needless to say, I got nothing done! Sure worked those abs though LOL. Even though I was feeling better late Friday, I took the rest of the weekend off to recover. I ate whatever I wanted...which still wasn't much! We did get to the Irish Parade and saw Chris Medina and Juli, but that was it. Then it was right back home.

I missed you all!! Can't wait to get messaging and chatting to catch up!

Sorry to hear you were sick. On the bright side, if you weigh in this week, it should be good, right? OK, I should not joke about that! Glad you are back and feeling better!

Sick again...??

Tuesday, March 08, 2011

Well yesterday started out great. Not sure if it was too much cleaning or what but about 3pm or so I started feeling icky. Unfortunately, my neighbor that cleans my house is also sick, so I had to clean again today! I did log the cleaning both days as it is about all I can do. Last night I fell asleep before I got my supermans done, and not feeling up to them yet today, so there goes my grea record for MARCH challenge. BUT I am not going to beat myself up over it. I have to listen to my body and do what I can. WOW things have changed for me so much!!

SOOOO, update. I DID get my supermans in for my challenge and then went to sleep! Guess I really wasn't up to par but I still did something! Then went to the library to check out some more yoga videos so I can find some that will work for me! Hoping to get that in tomorrow. I am proud of myself and I don't usually say that!!

Sorry to hear you are getting sick again. I loathe being sick. So, I hope you feel better soon. Like now soon! Cleaning is quite the exercise! Do what you can, do the best you can, listen to your body and stay with it! You are so doing this!

Great Week!!

Sunday, March 06, 2011

I am so glad I joined the M-A-R-C-H Challenge! Besides keeping me going towards my goals, it has helped me make new friends. The weight loss has been great too.....but you'll have to wait until tomorrow for the official weigh in!! I feel so much better, and have so much more energy! Greatest thing is that it's only been a week! Imagine how things will be at the end of the challenge! I can't wait for the next 3 weeks!! Thanks Team!!

Chuck E. Cheese...and UNDER my targets!

Saturday, March 05, 2011

WOW, what a day this was. First we went to Boarders since they are going out of business. I got a new Yoga Back Care video. emoticon
Girls got a ton of stuff!!

Then off to Chuck E. Cheese for a Birthday party. Of course I thought this was gonna ruin everything but made myself a promise to not beat myself up. WELL IT DIDN'T!! The mom got a veggie plate and some subs for the adults! I ate a lot of the veggies and a piece of the sub. Even though it was high numbers, they were cut into 1/4ths so not a ton! I even got a small piece of cake! emoticon

After I came home and finished up my chores, hubby realized it was almost 7 and we hadn't eaten. Well I wasn't hungry yet! So while the kids ate chicken nuggets and fries I was content with oatmeal! After all was said and done, I was under in calories and carbs....right at fats and under protein (which I planned because was high yesterday)! I got my 8 glasses of water in...which will probably be more as I won't go to bed for a few hours! And to stay with my M-A-R-C-H Challenge, I did my Superman....even though I wasn't scheduled for any exercise!

All and all I am pretty happy with how things went. No the food choices were not the BEST by far, but I didn't blow it totally and never felt like I was missing anything. This is the first party situation I have really been in with food in the mix and now I KNOW I can do it!!
