I decided to reward myself today for staying within calorie ranges for more than two weeks. I saw some primroses and bought two of them. They are now sitting nicely on my desk at home.
Very pretty plants. One is violet and one is purple. Yes, there is a difference!
Today went well. I got to work and participated in 13 court hearings, signed two motions, and helped an estranged couple to get through one of the hearings without a "scene".
Then, off to the gym, filled up the car with gas, and shopped for protein. That is right! Protein. Very nice stuff. Then, I came home (7:30 pm) and broiled said protein, made a nice salad, and some brown rice.
Yes, a good day!

The whole family (5 of us) is here today. We watched the Rose Parade, ate a good breakfast: Oatmeal, scrambled eggs, bacon, and cinnamon bread. For lunch, we will have some Mexican food, and we will have bean soup with ham bone for dinner.
My youngest daughter is making some soft pretzels for snacks (I will not have any).
It is nice to be at home with the family today.
Best wishes for a good, happy, and successful 2013!

Columbus, Ohio, is celebrating another First Night, alcohol free, as usual. I have no idea whether my two eldest girls are attending the event or not. I have never attended said event. I expect that they will let me know one way or the other within a couple of hours.
However, I think First Night is a great idea. Fireworks at midnight, and lots of fun, or so I understand. We had the good fortune to attend New Year's Eve on Manhattan a couple of years ago. However, we never got close to the area, although our hotel was only three blocks away! The event organizers have all attendees appear REALLY EARLY on the 31st, stand all day within cordoned-off areas, and leave only at the risk of not getting back in. No food, no bathroom. We watched the ball drop . . . on our hotel television!!
I will not likely be awake at midnight to see the beautiful Waterford Ball drop at Times Square on TV tonight. But that is OK.
For us, the Rose Parade and the Rose Bowl Game are far more important. I guess that shows that we truly are Southern Californians (by birth).
Munchies, bean soup, etc. will be available for post-midnight revellers at our house. Well, actually by 9 am on New Year's Day.
Happy New Year's Day, Sparkpeople!

Today I feel thankful for my husband. Not only is he a great guy, but he also is my best friend.
The problems that we have encountered in our 28 years together have only made us stronger. Not that I want any of those problems ever again!! LOL.
However, I can say that I am looking forward to spending the rest of eternity with my guy.
How sweet it is!

Well, well, well. The weather forecasters were correct. We have snow. It looks (from the second floor window) like about 3 inches of heavy, wet snow. I will go out and look at it after getting something to eat.
I used to shovel snow on an empty stomach, largely because I could not stand to eat anything b before 7 am. However, since obtaining the advice to EAT within 60 minutes of getting out of bed in the morning, I have tried, mightily, to do so.
Therefore, I must hunt down some grub right away. THEN, I will go out and tackle the snow. It is still falling, anyway!
