Well, well. After traveling to my workplace daily for nearly five full years, I finally was stuck on the expressway behind a traffic accident. I surely hope it is the last time!
The long and short of it is that the snow storm (HA!) weakened considerably before it hit central Ohio. However, snowflakes continued to fall through the morning drive time.
That would not be a problem, and was not a problem, because most people that travel my way have driven in snow before. However, the temperature started about 32 degrees at 7:00 am and dropped down to 28 degrees. Not a problem, again,
EXCEPT: That one bridge, jut south of the first exit to my town, had some standing water (melt-off) that immediately froze, of course, and there was a slippery, slide kind of accident between at least two vehicles.
So, along with many, many more drivers, I sat on the expressway for just over an hour, awaiting the news of the conditions. Even my office did not know what the problem was. I should think that the prosecutor's office would know most of everything. But, NO.
I sent a text to my husband, presently on assignment out-of-state, and he got on the ODOT website, and reported the information that ODOT had about the accident.
Thank goodness for texting, the internet, and ODOT!!
