It's 8:45 pm and I am still at school doing report cards. The good news is, even though I know there are boxes of potato chips, granolaa bars, pizza pops etc upstairs in the canteen, I have not broken down and eaten anything. I am going home now but first I'm stopping off to buy myself a well deserved salad. The hovering spectre of weigh in day is keeping me on track. The real test will be how I fare through a weekend of (these must be done by Monday 9am or my goose is cooked) report cards. There is potential here for stress induced snacking. I shall attempt to persever. (cross fingers here)

    Report cards are a drag, that looming deadline, the sheer mass of reports to be done. Always a very busy time for teachers.

So far so good today. I haven't eaten anything I shoudn't. I am stuck in my office doing report cards so that is a bigger deal than you may realize. I'm tired and leaving for home and dinner shortly. I plan to have a Healthy Choice frozen meal and go to bed before I'm tempted to eat anything else. I hope you all had a successful day and are headed for a satisfying weigh in day.

    Are you doing a formal challenge?
I am doing a 30-day challenge anchored by MELTEAGUE for March 1-30.
We did first day weight and measurements, then take stats again in 15 and 30 days.
It is a nutrition, exercise and motivation challenge.
So, Day 8 for me. So far only one faux pas
I find it helps to eat some protein with freggie snacks, otherwise I get hungrier even if the freggies are bulky.
That's awesome your daughter is cooking you healthy dinners, and it is nice for her that you come by as her DH is away.

    Great job staying on track today. I know that working on Report Cards is probably stressful but you are doing great and that is all that matters. I have had a better day as far as eating goes but still no exercise in yet so I need to get something done.

Wednesday, March 6, 2013 - How'm I doin" so far?

Well.... today I had a little bit of a slip. I had a good breakfast and lunch. My snacks were nutritious and low calorie. And then... I wound up doing extra supervision after school and I got hungry. So today I had some not so good snacks before dinner. I've had a good healthy dinner at my daughter's every day this week. (She's alone with baby while her hubs is working out of town for 2 weeks)Today we ordered sushi. Not too bad but it doesn't line up with the huge amounts of vegetables and fruits I'm supposed to be eating. Tomorrow is another day and I'd better be ready with more appropriate snacks if I want to be a Last Star Standing. It would really be a bummer if I got knocked out after the first weigh in!

    If it makes U feel better, here is another teammate that had a slip up last nite. I will be doing extra exercise, drinking lots of water, and trying to cut back on a few calories. i don't want to fall off that Last Star Shining List either.

    I like your outlook. I've seen a few posts and blogs about keeping emergency snacks. I'm thinking about doing that myself. I can staash a ziplock bag of almonds (for example) and not worry too much about forgetting them. Carrying an appple around might be an issue. ;) I'm also thinking about keeping a can of low sodium V8 juice.

    I'm keeping some calories just in case something shows up , well if it's a 300-400 calories something. I do some extra exercise the next days and cut the calories a little the next days if something like that happens.

    Just take it one choice at a time and always be prepared. I sometimes don't eat my apple until after I get off work just in case something comes up and I don't go straight home or start dinner later in the evening than usual.

March 5, 2013 -What am I doing to encourage myself to stay on track?

Well, I'm trying to maintain variety in the fruits and veggies. If it's interesting I am more likely to stick with it. When I eat raw I have hummus as dip. I LOVE hummus. So that helps. I'm feeling thinner and weighing a little less and that is always good motivation. If I stick with all the other things like drinking water and exercising regularly that really helps too. Sometimes you let down in one department and the whole thing starts to go downhill fast. I guess my mantra for this part of the challenge is "Stay the course". You can't win if you quit.

I could probably be more eloquent and come up with a few more ideas but I have to post this for the points. Have a good evening. (for the next 10 minutes anyway)

March 4, 2013 - What am I doing to change my habit?

I have been surrounding myself with fruits and vegetables. I'm finding when you eat a lot of these its really hard to find room for something inappropriate like a bag of chips. I have to stay on top of the grocery shopping and keep resisiting any urge to splurge. Being lighter on my feet will be worth it! So far I've lost 2 lbs. Apparently crossing my fingers, toes etc is working.
