Do or die shopping............

Saturday, December 18, 2010

It's the last Saturday before Christmas. That means that the shopping mall (West County Mall is my mall of choice) will be packed. Good luck getting a parking space in less than an hour. I will not be there!!!! I'll be at home, preping for Christmas. My brother-in-law is coming Tuesday and will be staying through Christmas. He is disabled and has a hard time getting around so we'll be eating in a lot. He is easy to please so I'm freezing soups and casseroles. A simple dessert, a bottle of wine, a fruit of some kind, and a salad will make anything that I make taste good.

Enjoy your Saturday. If you go out today, I hope you take plenty of patience.

I'm glad your brother will visit you! Then Christmas at home will still be a special time for you.

We had so much going yesterday, with the children's program practice, then shopping at wal-mart, then the h.s. Christmas program, that I didn't have much time for anything else.

I'm going to make corn chowder for dinner tonight. A recipe from another sparkfriend. It's on sparkrecipes, so if it's good, I'll recommend it to you! Your brother might like it!

I don't think I have any days this week. There are only three days of school, and I can't imagine many teachers taking days off right now, and certainly not the day with all the parties.

I hope you have a wonderful time with your brother! And the rest of your family, too, of course!

I was at the mail (by my house) today and you are correct, it's a mad house!

Happy Holidays!

Have fun with Christmas prep. I actually went to Target this morning and it wasn't bad at all. Found a parking spot right away and got on a register right away too!
But I am done...all done....shopped out....LOL!

Feelin great.......

Friday, December 17, 2010

I'm feeling great. I sparked for about an hour, fixed breakfast for a teen (yes, he eats breakfast every day before school), and worked out to one of the Biggest Loser DVD's. Now, I have a smile on my face and I'm ready for the rest of the day. Hope you have a good one!!

I'm glad you're feeling great and energized. I slept in today and feel more tired than if I would have gotten up early. Guess I'll need to throw in an exercise DVD and wake up!

Menu planner

Thursday, December 16, 2010

Do you use the menu planner feature? If you use it, how are you using it? What do like about it?

I turned mine off the second day that I was on SP and didn't look at again until last night. I noticed that it has suggestions, replacement items, and a menu. I thought I'd give it a spin.

emoticon for your help. Laurel

Happy cooking!

I use the meal planner to enter my own meals and use the nutrient tracker to stay within my fat, carbs, protein and fiber... the SP meals are rather blah...

Will have to try that now that you are suggesting it!

Nope! I prefer to make my own decisions and track everything in excruciating detail. I often enter recipes, too, so that I know the nutrition info and can click on a serving easily!

I rarely use the meals they suggest, but I use it as a guide to make sure I am getting the right amount of protein/carbs/fat, and then track everything I eat all day. I feel it has been one of the most important tools in my weight loss and maintenance. I've also found some great recipes on it!

I don't use the SP Planner. I do track and create my own favs that are low in calories in stores that I shop at.

I don't use the planner but I do track my food everyday. Once in a while I look at the planner to get ideas - just looking for variety.

Altho I don't usually eat the meals they suggest, I do use it to count the calories in what I do eat by the "add an item not on my menu" feature! It's an easy way to keep try of your daily intake.

Who is the Biggest Loser??????????

Wednesday, December 15, 2010

Who is the biggest loser? I fell asleep. Not only did I fall asleep right before we found out who the "at home" winner was but I woke up and I also fell asleep right before we found out who the biggest loser was. Duh, do you think I'm sleep deprive?!

I fell asleep too, so thanks for all the info from everyone.
Now i won't have to go back and watch it on Demand.
Glad it turned out as it did.
Just hope these winner's can maintain their new found bodies.
It's a rapid weight loss.
The real life everyday routines are far different than the "Ranch".

You "ARE" SLEEP deprived. I think you can see the show if you have time and patience & really want to on their web page. All clapping and cheering (justified, of course) And smiles. They did announce new show 3 wks from yesterday and two new coaches in addition to Bob & Jillian (at a secret location) not the ranch!!

Good day............

Tuesday, December 14, 2010

It was a good day today. I walked for 90 minutes and stayed within my calorie range. I made chili for the family and an asparagus salad for me and picked up one more Christmas gift (new H. Potter book for son). I did two loads of laundry (how can three people have so many dirty clothes a week) and mopped the floor. I got an F in procrastination today. WooHoo!!!!

How was your day?????

You had a very productive day and asparagus salad sounds yummy!!!! All the Harry Potter books are wonderful! I bought a book today about all the ballparks in America for my son and a Pokemon book for my 17 year old daughter. She is getting ready to go to college and lately has been nostalgic about her childhood and Pokemon was a big part of it! :-)

That was a very productive day! My day went well, but not over yet. Game night. The only thing is it is raining here and so cold. I had to pull out the warmer socks today and the furry boots. Games usually last 1.5 hours and the gym is always cold.
