Today has been crazy. My buyer informed me she wanted to write an offer this morning. I knew it wasn't a great offer, but sometimes buyers have to have a few rejected before they realize you know what you are doing. So I spent all morning doing that. I knew I needed to get my kids as we are all go for hair cuts and then taking my son out for his 17th birthday.

The old me would have gotten completely stressed out by all of this, but I didn't.
Also, the old me would have said I don't have time to exercise. Now, I figured well 45 minutes is better than nothing and I got done the 45 minutes. Not my usual exercise time, but better than coming up with excuses not to. I may not be able to get in my full 10,000 steps, but over 7,000 is better than getting none.

Also, my mother was wrong. The meds are helping emoticon

Great attitude and way to stick to your goals. Getting a lighter workout in rather than none at all is emoticon. Congrats on making such great strides in sticking to your commitment. I've found that doctors often trump moms when it comes to the best way to take care of yourself. I'm glad you are feeling better.

The Verdict is In

Wednesday, January 05, 2011

Finally went to the doctor. This is not as bad as the last time I waited so long. She said I have a sinus infection. Of course, since I waited so long, it is pretty bad. She said no going to the barn until I feel better. Now that I know what it is, I feel worse especially since the stupid pharmacies take forever to fill prescriptions. She also said that dh has to get the humidifiers going in the house. At least I know why I haven't felt good and certainly not today. May have to put off exercise until tomorrow.

My mother wanted to take us all out for my son's birthday tonight, but I don't have the energy to deal with her today. I just want to get my meds and start feeling better. So, I told her we would not be going out tonight as the doc said to stay out of the cold and wind. Needless to say, she is ticked. Then again, she is always ticked.

Oh well, once I get the meds, I should start feeling better within 48 hours. Wow, I can't remember what it is like to be congestion free :)

Feel better soon! I take a daily immune system and a sinus thing every day that I get from the osteopathic doctor. They have helped a lot with my sinus issues, but they did get me in November and I ended up on antibiotics.

Sorry to hear that you are sick right now. However, it is able to be helped rather than a cold/flu so I hope you meds come soon and you get the relief you need. Hang tough and everything will get better and your mom will get over it.

Take care & get well.

Biggest Loser Support Challenge Goal

Tuesday, January 04, 2011

My goal for this month is to get in 10,000 steps at least 6 days a week. Along with this goal, I will do Leslie Sansone along with Walk it Out at least 5 days a week for at least 4 miles. I always start a program and get bored and move onto another one. This time I want to stick with one program for a month regularly and see if it makes a difference.

I have tried the 10,000 steps before and made it maybe 3 days a week. The last week or so I have done maybe 2,000 steps a day. But, that will change.

I will be tracking this on my other goals tracker. I know I can do this too because I have realized that I don't have to do all 10,000 steps at once. I can do some in the morning and some at night. I have a pedometer I wear all the time.

Great goal, consistency is so important in succeeding! I know it can be boring sometimes, I agree, but I find that if I just stick with it through the boring times, eventually it becomes habit and you do it almost without thinking! Just think, a habit of meeting goals! I KNOW you can do it!

On the Right Track

Monday, January 03, 2011

So far today I have done 4 miles with Leslie Sanson..my husband did it with me. It was pretty funny watching him. He was falling over his feet. And he used to laugh at me about how easy it was huh guess not. I did walk it out along with that and finished another 10 minutes of walk it out. The total for those two was 75 minutes. Then I did the 10 minutes day 1 28 day bootcamp video. It was very similar to doing Leslie for a total of 85 minutes. I decided to join that 28 day challenge and see what happens.

I have stuck to my diet and drank my water.

Yesterday..I actually called my brother and sister in Chicago and left them messages that it would be nice if they could come into town to see their mother. It is only a 1.5 hour drive. My sister comes up here all the time to see her horses. You would think that she could go a little out of her way to see mom too. I have decided that I am not going to be the only person dealing with this situation. They can help to.

So far, I think I am starting out on a pretty good note. Now, if this cold would go away, I would be really happy.

Good for you! I did the first video of the 28-day bootcamp too, then did the 3-mile Leslie Sansone. I'm glad your DH did the 4-mile one with you and found out it's not that easy. You're right to try to get your siblings involved with your mother. It's only going to get more difficult, and one child shouldn't be saddled with it all the time. You need a break. Maybe they could alternate coming to visit and take her out or something on the weekends. It'll be a nice change of pace for her too, and maybe she'll lighten up on you a bit.

Hello 2011

Sunday, January 02, 2011

So I didn't end 2010 on a great note. Spent most of the last week in bed with this stupid cold. The only exercise I got in were the days I got out to the barn. That's it now! No more excuses. Everyone is going back to work/school and I can get back to my routine. I have stayed within my calories however.

In the upcoming year, I really want to continue to work on dealing better with stress and not focusing as much on the scale. Sometimes, I think, a break for a short period can be good to re-energize the body. Well, I'm about to find out. It begins again today!

I have houses to show, but I can walk during the Packer game. Probably yell, stomp and kick during the game too!

On another note, 366 days smoke free emoticon At least that is one thing I did not break this year!

Congratulations on being smoke-free! I hear you about getting back in the exercise routine. I'm in the same boat. Ever since I got that weeks (month?)-long cold at the end of October, I've had a hard time getting back into my regular routine. I'm going to try the 28-day bootcamp challenge that just started. Join me?

What a great job you have done by quiting the cigarettes. Aside from the increased health you are enjoying, and the increased time you have each day by not smoking, think of all the money you are saving! Most people spend $4 (or more) per pack of cigarettes. At a pack per day that's $1460 per year (at least) up in smoke. What are you going to spend your money on? You deserve a great reward.
