My Expanding Wii Library

Thursday, July 22, 2010

I get bored with the same workouts. I can't tell you how many Wii workouts I own. I love my Wii.
Today, my two newest arrived. I got Walk it Out and Gold's Gym both for Wii. I did 95 minutes between the two, but I have to do WIO again tonight because it is bothering me that I did not break a sweat and get my heart rate up.

I have decided to add ankle/wrist weights to see if that helps. I did upper body ST yesterday so I'm thinking that tonight I am going to try and add the weights to my legs and see if that makes me work harder. I already have over 10,000 steps. For me, that is amazing. The game is very addicting. Kind of hard to figure out at first, but you just keep going.

Then after 65 minutes of WIO, I, of course, had to try Gold's Gym. I didn't realize that that whole workout was shadow boxing. I know that is a very good exercise as Jillian always puts it on her DVD's and uses it a lot on biggest loser. I did 30 minutes of that one. I was sweating with that one. That is a heck of a workout.

As I said, I am off to do WIO again because I know I can figure out a way to make this a real workout. I am beginning to feel like the Queen of Wii emoticon emoticon

I also have an ever expanding Wii library of active games. I have both the Gold's Gym and the Walk It Out.

Walk It Out does not build as big of a sweat right away. You have to unlock a lot of the faster songs in order to get the sweat on. The songs vary in speed from about 80 beats per minute to upwards of 180 beats per minute. I still enjoy it for a "lighter" workout and that it allows both of us to play at the same time. (Even if he does get all the credit. LOL!)

The Gold's Gym is fun! I need to start using it again. I always overdo when playing this game and then change to something else and forget to add it back in.

Have fun!

I , too have a ton of WII workouts and just bought Walk It Out too. I originally bought it for my husband because he loves to walk. So far, I'm totally addicted and he's tried it for 5 minutes. Go figure! emoticon

I love Gold's Gym Cardio but I tweaked my back muscles doing some advanced dodging and ducking (totally my fault). Just a cautionary tale. I still do it, now I'm more aware of how I'm moving my body.

I'm thinking of buying the Sports Resort because there are new games that are not on the Sports disc and they look really cool.

I LOVE MY WII!

Way to go......good job..........Love the wio
The only way I found to get the heart rate up is walk the island and dont stop to buy anything till I get 10,000 steps. Hold the numchuck in the hand and jog. Put in fast beat songs only. These are others ideas that works good for me so far. Love the wio... always have to get the rainbow. Let me know if you come up with other ideas to get the heart rate up... emoticon

AWESOME job, WTG. I would love to have a Wii but can't afford one yet. Maybe when I get my new job or make enough money with my knitting I will by one. Have a great WIO night.

I was wondering if WIO would be enough to get the heart rate up. I like MFC for cardio, it really gets me sweating. i'll be anxious to hear how you do with the WIO. Pam

I did not get Wii Sports resort because it reminded me too much of Wii Sports. I like having different types. I went through the list of my favorites on Wii Exercise team under Wii Talk. There are also threads for all the different Wii Games.

We just got the wii not too long ago and added the Sports Resort. Boxing and tennis are favorites. We are now looking at the Wii Fit Plus. Do you have this? If so, how do you like it?

Changes Do Happen

Wednesday, July 21, 2010

I was thinking this morning of some of the changes that I have made that I hadn't even realized.
1. I eat breakfast every day without thinking about it within 2 hours of waking up. I made that a habit because that is when I take my meds. I did work hard at this one.

2. I haven't drank soda in over a month. I just drink water or crystal light iced tea or lemonade. I didn't even realize that I hadn't had soda. As far as coffee, I drink maybe a quarter of a cup in the morning. I am not a coffee person. emoticon

3. I don't just lay around anymore. I make a point of getting up and moving. It drives me crazy if I just sit and don't get in some form of exercise. I used to lay in bed for hours and do nothing. emoticon

4. I don't stay up until 3 a.m. anymore. I try to get to sleep always between 12:30 and 1;00 and get 8 hours of sleep. I used to sleep for 10 or more hours b/c I didn't see there was a reason to get up. emoticon

5. I am finding myself being more positive about things and not nearly as nervous or frantic about things. Now, I do what I want to do not what I think everyone else wants me to do and, if people don't like it, tough. emoticon

6. I am completely aware of what I am eating and I ask myself if I really want it or need it, but I make the conscious decision one way or another and know exactly what I am doing. Right or wrong. emoticon

All of these things have become part of my way of life and they will continue to be. I will make more changes along the way. I still have to work on certain things and those will be my next goals, but for now, I am happy to realize how much I have changed already.

Tired of the humidity. Tired of my mom's complaining. Happy I got in a 75 minute workout even though I didn't feel like it.

Glad that I am exercising regularly now.

That's all I have to say for today!

Still Moving

Monday, July 19, 2010

Made sure I got up early and got my workout down since I knew I had to show houses. Got 60 minutes of ST/cardio done before I left. Made a point of eating breakfast and a light lunch. We then looked at houses for 3.5 hours. It was 1.5 of walking and going up and down stairs. I was timing the movement.

Then we went to Verizon and I ended up with the droid. It is amazing how far phones have come. My daughter ended up with my old phone and, of course, to keep it activated, we had to pay for the data plan for that phone. Not the cost of the smart phone data plan, but $10. We figure she deserves it as she does everything we ask of her.

So, I am still moving and my stomach seems to be better when I am not just sitting here thinking about it. Tomorrow, I'm off to get my manicure and hair dyed and then to the barn tomorrow evening. Wednesday starts a horse show here where my sister's horse will be. This is turning into a busy week. But, it feels good not to be laying around. emoticon

7/18/10

Sunday, July 18, 2010

Movement really does help. I got up and worked out for 75 minutes. I knew I had to get it done because I had an open house this afternoon. After that, it was 5:00 and DH and I stopped and got appetizers for dinner. While we were there, I mentioned to him that he was the only one who hadn't changed in his cell phone. I asked if I could use his upgrade for a smart phone. I had a smart phone once, but I was too dumb to use it so I got a smart phone for dummies which isn't smart enough for my work. emoticon

I call Verizon and they said that we can use his number to upgrade and he can still keep his Razr which he loves. Well, then I said I would go and look at Best Buy to see which of two phones I liked--the Droid which is expensive or the Palm Pre Plus and the verizon guy was going to call me back tonight. DD and I go to BB. Closed. We go to Verizon store. Closed. We spent 2 hours on the computer reading all these reviews. I am now exhausted, but I realized that my stomach has not bothered me all day since I haven't had time to just sit and think about it.

Wasn't good about recording food today because I couldn't figure out how to explain it. Oh well, we will go to BB tomorrow after showings. I have 6 houses to show to new buyers so I should be painfree tomorrow too! Keeping fingers crossed emoticon
