Not a Good Start

Sunday, January 01, 2012

So, I haven't gotten any exercise in since Friday. I thought I was going to the barn today after showing houses, but then the snow and cold hit. We came home and watched the Packer game which we had recorded. No way to exercise during that. It was one of the best games I have seen all year. Our second string quarterback makes history..now that is funny.

I am not going to berate myself. I just know that I have to get back to it. My goal is 20,000 exercise minutes for the year. I surpassed that in 2011 and I think I can do it in 2012.

I also have to admit that we did bring in the New Year with chocolate. We decided since we weren't going out or doing anything fancy just to do something we enjoyed. Chocolate chip cookies and ice cream worked. I did get low fat/low sugar ice cream for me :)

I have a really busy week coming up with buyers, but I know that is no excuse. I am going to have to figure out how to fit it in. I am glad the new season of Biggest Loser starts on Tuesday as that will help to motivate me. It's not that I'm not motivated. I just haven't had time.

I know...no excuses..but I am so good at them emoticon

Yay Biggest Loser!! Pumped for the new season. Now I just need to synch my gym time with it's air time on Tuesdays ;) It's a great incentive for doing a long stretch on the treadmill or elliptical if you have a good show to watch.

It's only the first (or second by now) day of the year. I did an alternative to the January Jumpstart Challenge and that was all for the first day of the year, 11 minutes. I'm not going to worry about starting off with a bang, and you shouldn't either. Just end with a bang! It's really what you will have accomplished by the end of the month, quarter, year that's important.

You have been doing great! Think of everything positive you have done! Circumstances just weren't with you today, they were against you. I, too, won't miss the Biggest Loser!
It is probably my favorite reality show!
I know you will have a good 2012! emoticon emoticon

A Simple Note

Saturday, December 31, 2011

This blog is not to write everything I will do in the upcoming year and what my goals are or how I will change etc.

This is just to say thank you to all my spark friends who have been with me all year. You've stuck by me through everything with my family, my colitis, my non weight loss, my feelings of self doubt. You've kicked me in the a@@ when I needed it. You've also been my friend when I've needed it.

I've a long road ahead of me in 2012 and that I will write about tomorrow. But, for this the last day of 2011, I just simply want to say thank you to all of you.

I wish you nothing but health, happiness, prosperity and, for those of you who need it, some weight loss in the upcoming year!

Thank you. You are true friends!

Together we'll get the new year off to a good start! It was a great year, in spite of all of our ups and downs. You're not the only one who goes through some of these things; you just give voice to things not all of us say.

Happy New Year! emoticon

So Excited!

Thursday, December 29, 2011

I have been so burned out with work. All I wanted was for us to get away for a while, but didn't figure we could afford it. But, Brian said we would figure out a way to work it out. We were batting around places to go and I told him not to laugh at me, but I always wanted to go to Nashville and then Memphis to see Graceland.

We figured out it is only a 9 hour drive from here and both my kids want to go. My son can help my husband with the driving. I think I can get someone to stay with the dog and the cats. My kids would only miss 4 days of school as they have a new semester starting. Brian said since we are driving, we can afford to do more.

My daughter is so excited. She wants to spend her birthday at Loretta Lynn's ranch. I will have to put off her road test, but that is not a big deal. I think this will be a lot of fun as I hate plane travel. Can't wait! I always love something to look forward to :)

Stress Free --Spoke Too Soon

Tuesday, December 27, 2011

In my previous blog, I mentioned that I went out for dinner with my mom last night. She couldn't get it through her head that my sister Karen was paying for the person staying with her. Mother was sure Karen was taking it out of my mother's account.

Now, most of you who know me know that Karen and I haven't spoken in years, but I decided to defend her. I left her a message asking her to explain to mother that she does indeed pay for Jenny and also for car insurance for Jenny to drive mother's car.

Today, I get an e-mail from my nephew (Karen's son) stating that under no circumstances am I to ever contact Karen (his words...not his mother). He then told me that my mother's finances were none of my business and what goes on in my mother's house is up to my other sister, Mimi, and my brother.

He then signed it Attorney Nathan Zimmermann. I guess the old apple doesn't fall far from the tree. It is pretty sad when a 55 year old woman, who is an attorney in her own right, can't even speak for herself. But, that, of course, is what got us to this place initially. She would never speak directly to me, but about me to everyone. I believe that if I have something to say I am going to say it directly to the person.

Obviously, my sister has made her children as sick as she has always been. She has never allowed them independence as they are all working with her now instead of moving on their own. Well, I, for one, am completely done with that whole group. How totally and completely disgusting! If it were my son, I would have told him to stay out of it!

Be done with them then. They've made it pretty clear, so you can forget about them guilt-free now. As for your mother, don't discuss those things with her, letting her know you have nothing to do with it, and have done with that too. You're done with that ordeal for another month. Phew!

    Hi LASARRE;

I know where you are and I have been there. I turned from my mother after a 1 1/2 phone call that was not nice and I never back talked I was just done. It was 2 years before I talked to them again but when I talked to a Dr. she said I did the best thing I could do for my mental. Sometimes you can't reach people even if they are family and the best to do is step back. May God watch over you and give you strength. Stay with your healthy life style.
learn something new every day.

Been A Bum

Tuesday, December 27, 2011

I have to admit that I have been a bum for the last 4 days. I have done basically no work. I didn't exercise yesterday. Still working on today. I changed scales to the one in our bathroom as I am tired of turning on my Wii to weigh myself. My bathroom scale is more depressing, but maybe it will encourage me more. It is always 1.5 higher than the Wii.

I can't say I have been eating horribly or terrifically. I'm somewhere in the middle. Had dinner with my mother last night. Ended up the same as always. The person staying with her stating that mother doesn't treat her right and mother having a fit.

I figure at least I am done for another month as I really do have to get back to work by the end of the week. I have showings on Saturday. Thought I would have a home inspection, but the home inspector my buyers usually use is out of town until Friday so it probably won't be until next week.

JC is better and I was going to go ride him today, but the winds are really bad and that freaks him out. I don't need him to jump and hurt his leg again which isn't 100% yet. So, I spent today reading and watching movies with my daughter and playing Words with Friends. I will get some exercise in later. I am enjoying this time of peaceful bliss :) As I have a feeling the chaos will return quickly. I got a referral from a seller. A friend of his needs a house and we have to find it and close by March. I sent him to a lender. He is meeting with her tomorrow and then wants to start looking right away. But, that is a worry for later. Right now, I am remaining stress free ;)

OK, but here's something to think about: We all want JC to continue to improve, so don't give him any added weight to carry! Just kidding :) But I'm glad you are going to get back to your exercise; I feel so much better after doing an extra few minutes to offset a teeny bit of that scrumptiously bad eating I did over the holidays.
