VALUABLE ASSET

Tuesday, September 15, 2009

TERESA1828

You said that you walk. What kind of walking are you doing. When I just walked on a track or through the neighborhood, I didn't loose. What helped me to loose was the treadmill/treadclimber/eliptal. I even added a little water aerobics.

hi honey bun! browsing around looking for something to do and stumbled across your question about walking. i walk 4 miles a day (2 in the morning 2 at nite) and it only takes 15 minutes per mile! i use some leslie sansone videos i watch free online! its fun and very easy. my first time watching the video it surprised me when leslie was on the video saying we'd walked a mile! it goes very fast! if you would rather walk indoors but need the structure of step by step instruction, try this!

There is a lot of different ways to walk for exercise purposes. Doing stairs, doing what you are doing, me: walking the local mall for an hour with stairs or treadmill, or greenbelt walking, or walking around the block.

We all have our different ways of doing it. The main thing is JUST DO IT!

OMG, I HAVE LOST MY MOST VALUABLE ASSET, HELP

Friday, June 12, 2009

I have been losing weight very nicely. I know you can't spot loose, and you can guess where I lost the weight first. You guess it, my BUTT. Can anyone give me some ideals, suggestions or exercises to save what's left.

Build up the muscle in that area and your butt will look even better than it did before!
I've had friends that lost their entire chest, just in the arms and all sorts of single places, my suggestion is let the weight come off where it will because you'll be healthier and then build muscle to get the shape back... Good luck!

Hi! I laughed out loud when I read your blog. I (being built like a bowling pin) would be ecstatic if I lost inches in my butt. Last I measured, I lost no inches anywhere except I lost an inch and 3/4 in my neck...MY NECK!! Anyway, keep up the good work...and your sense of humor:)...Diane emoticon

Sweetie what's most important? To shed pounds or to lose around the waist & thigh area & save the butt? You are too funny! LOL I hope you find it Honey cause I would love not to lose my hips. I finally got some after years of eating but I also got high blood pressure too. I guess it evens out in some universe or time continuum?!

Take it light & blessings!

I understand completely. Weight lost has hit both of my endowments. The upper part I expected because I carry weight in my chest and it is mostly fatty tissue...I'm not displeased with the results though, I'm back to where I started out. As for the lower half, suggestions: squats, lunges, glute extensions, walking on an incline, slow backward walking on treadmill (be careful with this one), cheek squeezes, step downs, dancing requires muscles to be taut also...work this area hard, there are some large muscles back there...pair this up along with proper eating, rest and water.

Keep in mind, heredity is a factor here too, but you can firm up and lift to make the most of what nature has given you.

Hope this helps...and best of luck...you are a masterpiece in progress..and you can do this!

Like Sophia said, we can't decide where to lose, but why don't you try to emphasize your strength training on your butt?

Coach Nicole has done many good workouts focusing on that part, you can find them within the SP videos.

(BTW: if it is still an issue for you, have you heard of underwears like padded panties, butt enhancers, push-up bum bra? I have one and it really looks good.)

Wouldn't it be GREAT if we COULD decide where to lose?

I've never had much back there in terms of padding, even when I was way out of line in other places. To get my butt to balance out with the rest of my body, back when I was able to exercise, I did a lot of lower body work that focused on my gluteus maximus muscles -- the big ones that you use in back for sitting and standing. I often worked them on nautilus machines. One thing about being female is that you don't get to bulk up easily from exercise. Mostly, you just get more strength. Still, I did get a little extra bulk from building my gluteus maximus on both sides, and now that I've got Graves' disease, I'm really glad I did the work. That's where the muscle damage is worst, so it helps that I had done something.

I can really identify, though: at my age, the Graves' weight loss was lovely in many ways, but I had always had large bra cup size, and since Graves' hit just at the same time as menopause was getting established, I'm smaller up front than I have been since I started college, so I feel as if I have lost my endowment, if you will. Still, this is better for my health, and even gaining back, it goes to my belly, which needs no padding at all!

I do identify, and you have my sympathy!

I know it's not funny, I am rather buttless myself and it hurts when my tailbone hits the chairs.

You really don't want to "save what's left" but you (and I) probably want to muscle up what's left.

I don't have a solution but maybe we need to post your question at the Fitness Message Board.

I'm on my way! If you learn anything you can blog again and if I learn something I will blog with something like, "save your butt".

Love you,
Linda

I know what you mean. I have lost all mine in my butt and legs. The two smallest parts of my body. I am hoping the rest comes off the middle and top.

MY BIGGEST FITNESS ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Tuesday, April 21, 2009

In my case, my husband just recently joined my gym, in an effort to get his health together, and loose some weight in the process. Since he joined, he has gone full speed ahead and I'm right there with him. Before joining, he use to say to me, you've been at the gym all that time, (which was about 1 1/2 hour). He didn't understand that's not a whole lot of time to spend at the gym.

Now he's 6-7 days a week, we spend between 2 1/2 - 3 1/2 hours exercising each day.

I'm doing the elipital for at least 30 minutes. Before I usually had a hard time doing just 10 minutes. I do two sessions on the treadmill. One on random and the other on manual. On manual I have my level up to 12. Before I had a hard time at 2. I rotate using the weight machines every three days. I also do water aerobics, and you know I can't leave without the using the saunas.

I look forward to going to the gym with my husband everyday. We spend quality time together, while getting our health and bodies together. It's a win/win situation.

I know some people say I'm doing too much exercising, but my body isn't hurting, I feel good while doing it, and I feel great after I'm through. We're both trying to get our teenage figure back. emoticon emoticon

curious are in Detroiot or Detroit area? was wondering what gym. I was born and raised in Detroit now live in Romulus and joined the Romulus Athletic Center but haveing a hard time getting my butt in the door and actually working out. I love the machines and while my husband joined to his idea of a work out is simply walking the track. But then that works for him, for me all i get from that is sore knee and back. Love the elliptical though that normaly is what i will do . Weight and health are crappy so cant do alot but try to do couple miles when i go in. usually a mile or so rest and then another. Trying to get myself inspired to get my butt in their and do what I know i need to do. Congrats again...your doing great

To tell you the truth, I love water aerobics the most. I love being in the water, it's sooo relaxing, I use the dumbells in the water with any problems, I use the noodles to swim with and also to stretch my legs with. I do all kinds of exercise in the water. It's also less stress on your joints. The saunas can be so relaxing. I take my MP3 and put on some nice music and go into a zone. Very relaxing. emoticon

Do anyone else have a Bow Flex Tread Climber

Friday, March 06, 2009

I've had mine for about two months. I love it, it can convert to a Tread Climber, Treadmill, or a Stair Stepper. You can burn a lot of calories in a short period of time. emoticon

Yeah you can burn a lot of calories. I seem to burn more on treadmill instead of tread climber. I'm still trying to figure out how to turn to stair stepper.
