emoticonLove running outside... but not at noon on a day that it's 85 outside.. and I'm used 50's (it's over 90 right now.....)

emoticon Dog walks have gotten longer... they now go for about a mile, a couple of times a day.... Kids have taken over the morning walks.. YEAH! Dogs and kids are better behaved!

emoticon JM's 30 day shred does something to my knee... no knee issues, do day 1 level 1, and I have a sore knee. Do Day 2 level 1, hurt knee... stopped after round 1. Not sure I'll do it again, until after my half! (but I love what it does for my waist! and arms!)

emoticon As I'm not going to be able to do the shred... I'll have to start that 100 pushup challenge! I love what pushups do to my arms and shoulders!

emoticon And on my off days... I'll work to the 100 sit up challenge... Yep.. old school situps. Love em! (Always have! ~ I used to do 100 in the morning, and another 100 before bed... every day! when I was in high school..... Love to get there again!)

emoticonit's almost strawberry season here!!! I can't wait!! 1)I'm out of jam, 2) I can eat all I want for a few days...

emoticon my kids behave so much better when they ride bikes to school, (or walk, scooter.. etc...) But at least we're getting some exercise before class. Teachers notice!!!

I'll have to look into that 100 pushups challenge. I can't imagine myself doing 100 pushups, but I really need to work in that direction!

Does the JM dvd have a lot of squats or lunges? If so you may want to check your form every now and then, that can be killer on the knees

YEAH!!! I ran my 8 miler! emoticon

Took me 96 minutes! WOW! Ends up being a 12 minute mile!

I felt great for the first 5 or so.. then I started getting sluggish.

Today was the first warm day that I ran outside. It was mid to upper 70's. Not hot, but warmer than I am used to.

I ran out of water just after mile 5..... explains why I got sluggish.

I now know to bring more water with me on days that are warmer, at least until I get used to the warmer temps.

I used a gel cube thingy that I got at REI for fuel. I liked it! Not so hard that when I chewed it that it got stuck in my teeth. Not so soft that I had to squeeze out of package into my mouth. Taste was good too! I had used half another time, and used the other half this time. Recommends to take one square every 15 minutes of exercise. I didn't do that. Maybe I should next time... I still have some different fuels to try. I do realize that I need 'em on my longer runs. I'm good for 4 or 5 miles without fuel with me, just a beverage of some kind... but over that, I need something to keep my legs moving.

Basically.... Runners should add tart cherry juice for a few days before big runs, and a few days after. speeds recovery. Hmmm.. reading this.. I might be finding some, and adding a glass daily... I can find the calories! (especially as today's run burned 1200 calories on my body bugg.... think I need more than the 1500 SP has me on daily....)

    Wow! 1200 calories in an hour and a half. That is efficient exercising. No wonder you are sluggish, I would have to double my calorie intake if I could burn like that. Those size tens aren't going to fit long at this rate. Way to go, I am impressed. Thanks for the cherry juice info, I will check it out.

    Yay for your good run and experimenting with fuels.

I'm totally sold on the tart cherry juice thing! I put Aloe vera gel and my Vega (supplement) powder in it too. Makes a great recovery drink! I'm dealing with this inflammation thing, and I actually think the juice might be helping. Cheers (clinking a glass of cherry juice)!

How'd I do in March??

Here were my goals for the month:

Stay in range 28 days this month.
Exercise 200 min a week.
Run 50 miles.
Weight loss: 7 to 10 lbs.

Ok... so how'd I do?

Weight loss: -5lbs.

Not too bad.. but not quite what I wanted.... Hmmm.. this is related to goal #2...

Tracking my food, in range 28 days....
Well... I missed tracking for 4 days. So, that already drops me to my 28 days.. Because I can't say exactly what I did on those days!

I had 2 days below my range, and I have 4 days above. Yuck. But if I look at my weekly average, I am in range. Just around 1500 calories a day, average.

Exercise 200 min a week:
Oh.. made this one.. easily! Actually, I was over 300 minutes every week this month!! And, that's without counting the moving time! I carried boxes, packed boxes, and moves sh*t around all month! My BodyBugg has me burning over 3000 calories a day, pretty much every day this month! That's HUGE for me! And this is without any significant time in the gym!

Run 50 miles??

Did it!! I logged 51.8 miles this month in my tracker!!! YAHOO!!!! I know that I've missed a couple of my training runs. so, I've modified my training plan a bit to compensate! But, I am feeling ever so much stronger when I run!

So. Overall! I did pretty good this month!

I ran, I ate reasonably well.. I exercised, and I had fun.
About the only thing that I didn't do from my goals is lose as much as I wanted! So!!

My goals for April:

a) Track my food every day.
b) Reset my range, and stay in it. (Not sure I want a 1500 daily deficit.. a bit high for me)
c) Run 60 miles. (I have some nice long runs coming)
d) Lose 8 pounds. This is -2 a week.
e) 1 ST session a week.



I realize that I am just not hitting the weights enough! I'm loving running! I'm rollerblading while the kids are riding bikes, I'm walking lots with the dog. I'm painting and unpacking in the house.. and hiking season is coming ever so fast! (We've got the temps.. but everything is too wet to hike without leaving some scarso on the trails)

    You're really on top of things! I'm still trying to connect with the fact that today IS April 1st, let alone going back and trying to figure out how I did in March.

Sounds like you've got a good set of goals for April, though!

    You have done so fantastic. Some of your lack of weight loss could be all the stress you were going through this month, plus you sleep pattern was probably out of wack. I think this month will be better for you now that you are moved and your other house is sold. Plus the weather will be (hopefully) so much better this month. Here's to an awesome April.

So.. Sears has let me down, yet again........... emoticon

I ordered a very nice pair of laundry equipement. I understood that it would take almost 2 weeks to get it delivered. Not too bad. They were scheduled to arrive a week after moving in so ... I'd be able to get the house organized, before doing a big pile of laundry.


But.. after 3 calls confirming delivery (them calling me) I got a call 30 minutes before delivery, telling me no can do. No washer. AARRRGGGHHH!!

So.. instead of yelling at someone who can't do anything about it, I went for my scheduled 8 miler. I was enjoying it, listening to a Percy Jackson book. And.. I got a call from Sears asking me questions... Ok.. so I'm at mile 4, walk while on the phone, and then just as I get into a groove, phone rings again.. another sears person.. more talking.. next call.. I just let it go to VM.. Now, I'm pissed off again.. and running faster.

I felt great when I got home. Showered, ate something, drank a few big glasses of water. Felt so much better. Now, to talk to a real person, face to face. Ended up with him frustrated!!! Now, off to Lowes. Got a bunch of cool stuff.. and a new washer. Same brand, same model, and same price. To be delivered tomorrow. YEAH.

Now, to deal with Sears and get my dryer (they have it, and it was supposed to be delivered today, but I wanted to wait and have it all come at once) I want it tomorrow.. but even if I don't get the dryer tomorrow, at least I can still have clean clothes!

Hung blinds, ceiling fans, and organized the house. Feels more like home now! (plus child isn't flashing neighborhood when changing)

It's spring break.. and so I'm getting to blow 2 days waiting for stuff that should have arrived today. Yuck. But, I can finish unpacking. Post boxes on craigs list. and have fun with my girls.

I've got a day trip into DC planned for Wednesday. Any suggestions?? I have a 9yr old and a 5 yr old.

    Good for you to take your phone. I would have stayed home or just left it. Holocost museum is a neat interactive place. My kids love the Natural History with dinosaurs for the boy and gems for the girl.

    Sounds like you poured your frustrations into your run. Just don't over-do it!

As far as DC is concerned... I was ALWAYS a fan of the Air and Space museum. I've been there several times and still find it quite fascinating.

    I read a funny article on The Consumerist about someone who was in a similar situation - they were to have a washer/dryer delivered on a certain day, but the store didn't deliver the. I think a few days went by and then this person took their laundry into the store and said they were going to do the laundry at the store. Good thing it didn't come to that for you!

I love the feeling of "house" turning into "home." Almost two years later and it's finally starting to happen for us.

quick update

Not a lot of time this morning.,...

It's been a crazy weekend!! We closed on our house on Friday afternoon... went to Lowes, bought ceiling fans, paint, and sundry... spend the weekend painting the rooms that will have big furniture put in them... I don't want to have to move anything again....

Thank goodness for the calorie burn of painting, and the fact that there really isn't any food at all in this house yet.. I'm down a couple of pounds!!! I've been drinking LOTS of water.. (to help me keep my energy up) and so.. I'm pretty sure that this loss will stay.

Out of 190'ville... and INTO 180'VILLE!!!!!! emoticon

Now.. movers are coming.. and I need to get stuff into the rooms that it belongs!! (not just stuff on the truck, but the stuff that hubby dumped in the garage from the storage unit!)
