Day 7 Exercise Streak

I'm still going strong. Today makes day 7 of my exercise streak. I did walking at work today. Then when I got home from work, I did the WATP Muscle Mile. It's getting a little easier to do the one mile. I'm still a little sore using the weights, but getting better. I'm already feeling so much better since I started exercising.

Again, thank you to all my Spark friends who support and encourage me.

Day 6 Exercise Streak

On a day that is normally my day of rest, I continued my exercise streak. Besides the normal laundry and housecleaning, I did not one but two workouts. First, I decided that I would pop in a Richard Simmons workout. Mind you, I haven't done a Richard Simmons workout in years. This one was the 60's Blast Off workout. When it started playing, I was in shock. How in the world was I going to do this workout? It is so much more than the WATP workouts I've been doing. Well, I decided to give it a try, but I did it sitting in a chair. I did all the upper body movements, as well as moving my feet. Believe it or not, I did work up a sweat doing it this way. I will continue doing this workout once a week until I have built up my stamina a little more.

My second workout was the one mile WATP. I can already feel myself getting better doing this workout. I'm going to continue doing the one mile workouts for another two weeks. Then I am going to move on to the two mile workouts. I can tell my breathing is getting better during my one mile workout.

I want to thank everyone for the support and encouragement that you are giving me. It really means so much to me. I wouldn't be doing as well if it wasn't for all my wonderful Spark friends. Thank you all so very much!!!

Day 5 Exercise Streak

Today was my fifth day in a row of doing exercise. Today I did the WATP Muscle One Mile. I use 3 lb weights with it. Boy, was I feeling it today with the weights. I did much better with the workout. Guess I'm getting used to it. I also did a lot of walking today.

So today was grocery shopping day. I forewarned my son that I wasn't going to buy any junk food. I figured he would try to get me to buy something anyway. Boy, was I wrong. He didn't even ask for any of the Christmas goodies that they had on clearance. In fact, when he went to get tortillas, he picked the whole wheat ones. I usually buy those for myself and he gets the flour ones for him. Well, this time he decided he would try the whole wheat ones. He also picked some fruit for us. I am so proud of him for making the right decisions. He lost quite a bit of weight during the summer, but gained some back when he went back to school. Well, now he has decided he is going to buckle down and get the weight off. When he goes back to school, he will be starting a weight training class. Hopefully, that class will help him as well. It feels great to know that I am having a positive impact on him getting on with his healthy lifestyle.

Day 4 Exercise Streak

Today was my fourth day in a row doing exercise. Today I did a one mile WATP workout, lots of walking at work and shopping, and strength exercises. They kept me hopping at work today. We were short-handed and I had to do alot of running around.

I thought it was going to be a hard day for me today. In fact, I didn't even want to get up this morning. Today is the 7th anniversary of my mom's death. I still miss her like it was yesterday. She has been in my thoughts throughout the day and evening. I know that she wouldn't want me to mope around all day. She would want me to get in my exercise and eat healthy. She never wanted me or my brothers and sisters to ever have to go through what she did with all her problems from diabetes and her heart condition. I can just hear her telling me to work on getting my health in order and lose weight. She suffered so much her last few years on earth. Watching what she went through with her diabetes over the years is what has gotten me to finally get healthy after I found out that I was diabetic. Sure wish I would have listened to her sooner. Then I wouldn't be where I am today. At least I'm doing it now and that's what counts.

Day 3 Exercise Streak

I did my third day in a row of exercise. During the day I did alot of walking the production floor at work. This evening I did the One Mile WATP workout. I will also be doing at least 4 strength exercises before I go to bed tonight.

This evening I received devastating news that my niece had a miscarriage. This was a pregnancy that was a long time coming. I've been crying ever since I found out the news. In the past, I would have immediately turned to food, but that is the past. Instead, I immediately popped in the workout DVD and did my one mile workout. Then I came on here to read and answer emails and messages. I'm moving in a positive direction even though my heart is breaking for my niece and her husband.
