Just Move!

Saturday, July 13, 2013

I think the word "Run" could be replaced with the word "Move."

Just Move and you'll feel so much better for it!

Runner's Purge

Friday, July 05, 2013

Over the years I have read numerous articles about the effects of “runner’s high” and the results of boosted endorphins while jogging. I haven’t experienced feelings of euphoria when I run, but I do often experience what seems to be a ‘purging’ of the mind. Often running can be highly emotional for me, like an immense release of pent-up toxic energy. I haven’t heard or read it described by others in this way, but I do like the ‘detox’ of thoughts that comes from my own running. The more I do it, the more I look forward to doing it again, which is a surprising, unanticipated response for me. I think I am beginning to understand why so many people continue to run and set new goals for themselves.

Hands Free Revolution for Moms

Thursday, June 20, 2013

This mother has a wonderful perspective on parenting and life in general. I discovered her blog last night. If you are a mom (or a dad), this is worth a look!

I’m going Hands Free. I want to make memories, not to-do-lists. I want to feel the squeeze of my daughter's arms, not the pressure of over-commitment. I want to get lost in conversation with my spouse, not consumed by a sea of unimportant emails. I want to be overwhelmed by sunsets that give me hope, not by extracurricular commitments that steal my joy. I want the noise of my life to be a mixture of laughter and gratitude, not the intrusive buzz of cell phones and text messages. I am letting go of distraction, disconnection, and perfection to live a life that simply, so very simply, consists of what really matters. I’m going Hands Free. And if this sounds like a life you want to start living, come along. A Hands Free revolution starts here! I hope you will join me!

Wow, did I slip off track!

Two weekends in a row!

Why is it so easy to say "No" to fattening foods when I am at work and so difficult when I am at home having fun with my family??

Father's Day weekend was a true celebration! Lots of fun and games.

Now it's back to the salt mine today... ;)

I'm the same way and it's harder because I am around people who don't want to eat the food I am eating (family) so instead of making separate meals, on the weekend I just go with majority rules.
I am working on it though.
