I hope your Dr. is pleased that you are making an effort. Some just tell you stuff and some partner with you. Keep up the good work!

still moving along - making new goals

Sunday, June 02, 2013

I went to my dietician the other day. I have lost 10 lbs. since march. She was very happy, as am I. I have decided on a way to set my goals. At work I process requests for Bariatric Surgery for the State of Washington. One of the things people have to do before they can actually have the surgery is to loose 5% of their body weight and keep it off until they have their surgery. They have one year to loose the weight and also go thru a number of other counseling and testing. I have decided that is how I am going to set up my short term goals. However I am not going to give my self so long to loose it. I figured out how many pounds to loose for the first 5% (that actually figures out to about 10 - 25 lbs. depending on the original weight of the person. ) So 230 * 5%= 12. so 230 - 12 = 218. I now weight 220 so I have two more lbs. to go and I can set a new goal. emoticon slow but sure. make sure the new habit sticks!

wonderful windy wet wednesday

Wednesday, May 22, 2013

well I was able to make it thru my walk this morning without getting rained on. I also managed to not stress eat everything in the bldg. I stuck to my plan and ate what I had when I was suppose to eat it. lots of changes at work and I don't mind changes if not dropped like a bomb - what I hate worse is others around me getting all stressed and bothering everyone - stresses me more. that being said it really was an ok day.

terrible tuesday- well sorta

Tuesday, May 21, 2013

we had some changes at work dropped on us like a bomb. Or so it would seem with all the grumbling going on. I decided I had enough of all the grumbling and did not want to be brought down out of my good mood. I went around to each person in the unit and explained the change was going to be ok. We should not complain to our lead or supv because it was dropped on them from higher up. I even gave one of my coworkers the bear I have at my desk. Mr. Hugs is for hugging when things just are not going right. I share him with others. That seem to help the mood around the area. I am not sure what got into me but it kinda felt good. I even talked another person out of going for the chocolate. sheesh what was I thinking? emoticon

That's awesome! I find that attitude (good or bad) is the most contagious thing in the workplace. Good job!

great monday

Monday, May 20, 2013

I decided to bring in vegetables today to show the others that we can eat good stuff and we don't need the cookies. they at up all the stuff I brought in. I also had hummus for them. I told them I was trying to help them with their weight loss ( really I was trying to help me!)

I also wrote one of the inspiration quotes on the whiteboard next to our copy machine. ( if you are tired of starting over stop giving up.) I noted late that some had put two boxes below it - one marked "like" with a check mark and one said "comment" there was no comment but I wonder if someone at work is also a Sparkpeople person. I did give credit to Sparkpeople for the saying so I hope to try to find out who this person is.
