Yay me!!!

Friday, January 21, 2011

Today I took my lunch to work forgetting that I had a meeting where lunch would be provided. Well, I didn't log all my food and stuff the last few days so the opportunity was there to keep falling back. I told a co-worker, "Well, I'll see what they're serving before I go heat my lunch" and I did. They had Chick-Fil-A nuggets, salad, brownies and fruit cups. Chick-Fil-A!!!!!!! I LOVE Chick-Fil-A nuggets! And brownies!!!
BUT! I brought a nice healthy lunch with baked chicken, whole grain pasta, green beans and corn. I decided to eat what I brought for lunch. But maybe... maybe since I would eat that, I could have one of those brownies. They were cut in half already...
So, I ate my lunch during the meeting and felt like I had a little more room for something and it must be something sweet!!! God took my hand right past the brownies to a cup and took me over to the fruit. OMG'ness!!! It was SOOOO good! Grapes, strawberries, apples (2 kinds!) and mandarin oranges!! It was awesome!!
And the icing on my "cake"... I met my goals today in everything other than calcium and fiber. I did not go over on anything!!! Yay me! Tomorrow is my 2 week weigh in. I am proud of myself like I can't even believe.

Good job! It's so amazing how fast we forget that fruit is just as good as ice creams or cake. Consider yourself a smarty.

My Weekly Cardio Minutes

Sunday, June 28, 2009

For my own accountability, I'm tracking my cardio minutes here beginning on Saturday, June 27. Feel free to post comments and suggestions. I will edit this each time I have minutes to add.
June 27 - Treadmill 60 min: 40 @ 5% incline, 20 @ 2.5% incline, 2.75 miles
June 29 - Treadmill 30 min: 20 @ 5% incline/20min mile; 10 @ 5% incline/15min mile
June 30 - Treadmill 60 min: 5 @ 30min mile; 5 @ 24min mile; 10 @ 5% incline/24min mile; 10 @ 20min mile; 30 @ 5% incline/20min mile. Now that made me sweat!!
Okay, so the last couple weeks have been totally crazy busy and I have not gone to the gym at all! With hubby working nights temporarily, it's just weird. I'm not used to going without him. Well, I gained a pound or so in the last week so NO MORE! Now I am getting back on track.
July 14 - Treadmill 65 min: 25 @ 20min mile; 25 @ 5% incline/20min mile; 5 @ 5% incline/15min mile; 10 @ 5% incline/24min mile.
July 18 - not at the gym but moving Jackie's stuff from a 3rd floor apartment should count for something. I'll set my calorie counter/heart monitor watch while I'm going and see what it gives me........

Here I go!!!

Either cardio or strength training. Preferable both. I use an eliptical at hom e 6 days a week, but I still have to use weights for my upper arm flab.Don't get discouraged if the weight loss slows down, sexy muscles, even when hidden under extra flab, weight more than fat. Keep working through it and the muscles will burn more calories even during sleep than fat does.1st thing, is go. Start. The rest will all follow.

Great work! Hope you find something you like at the gym. I know cardio burns more calories, but I love the feeling of strength and power I get from lifting weights.

Anyway, just passing by to offer you some support and encouragement in your goals. You're on your way!
