Day 14 -

Sunday, January 20, 2013

Peaceful day today. Went 300 calories over my limit [Positive take on this one? I TRACKED IT!!!]. A dessert was a planned treat, the over-fatty dinner was not. And no time tonight to do a long cardio routine. I'll still do my 10 minute jumpstart video, though. At the end of my second week, I'm already feeling the benefits.

1) Did you get at least 7 hours of sleep last night? emoticon
2) Exercise at least 10 minutes a day emoticon emoticon Jumpstart video + a 9 minute cardio extra; 20 minutes on elliptical.
3) Nothing to eat after 8 p.m. emoticon emoticon

Ended up doing 386 calories of exercise, according to the elliptical machine and SP calculations. I think the elliptical's are overstated, though. I'll have a gain tomorrow.

Had a good day today, including good rest last night.

Really wanting to stay up right now.... and it's 12:11 a.m.

It's this need to feel free.... but I've got to get to bed. 7 a.m. rising in the morning for Class and Worship service.

Night..... emoticon

You're really doing great! Good job on meeting your goals.

My free time only comes after the rest of the family is in bed. That's why I stay up so late, too.

Keep up the good work!

Good rest probably directly related to the 5 hour night before it. Working on balancing my sleep habits.

52 minutes exercise; Walking w/Leslie and the Jumpstart video. Since I'm in week 2, I'm repeating the small workout and love that it's discernibly easier.

Thanks to the cheerleaders who come and give me an "Atta Girl."

Day 11

Thursday, January 17, 2013

Yesterday's feel good: The day's exercise for January Jumpstart included standing on one leg and doing various things. Last time I had something like it, I couldn't keep my balance. Yesterday: a piece of cake.

I found an old Weight Watcher record, and I weighed 20 lbs. heavier than I do now.... yet I've never felt fatter than I do right now. Trying to wrap my mind about whether or not I was simply more fit then, or that my age has caused a shape change that I DO NOT LIKE!!!!!! AAAGGGHHHHH!!!!

Got woken up early this morning (shortly after 6 a.m.) and couldn't go back to sleep. I really love getting up early in the day, but the last few years and the late-night habits I've developed don't help me in the mornings. When you don't have a job, or kids in school, you can sleep as late as you want to, but I'm actually by desire an early riser, so when I *do* get up early... I usually stay up. This is going to take a while to shake out into a better habit, I think. Last night: 5 hours.

Day 10 -

Wednesday, January 16, 2013

Just had another hawk hit our patio window. We have two feeders in the patio, protected by the "U" shape of the back of our house, and two guarding bay trees. The hawk comes in after birds, and doesn't realize how short the space is. This one, at least, was able to fly away. The last time, we had a hawk hanging around for a while while he recovered.

Pardon the unkempt look of this photo. We don't cut down our dead plants till spring time.... the seed heads on many of them feed birds during the winter. This hawk is only about 10 ft. from our patio door. If this was a cartoon, he'd have little stars and tweety birds flying around his head. He's wondering what in the world happened!

Only one out of three today. Once again, sleep time was about 6 3/4 hours. And tonight, very hungry, found the chocolate covered pomegranate seeds my daughter gave me in my stocking. Too much to resist, even though only 100 calories... not too bad, considering pigouts in the past. Back at 'em tomorrow!

Don't be sorry you didn't reach you 7 hours last night. Strive to reach it tonight - I know you can do it!

I love the picture - wow to have a hawk so close.
