Day 10 -

Wednesday, January 16, 2013

Just had another hawk hit our patio window. We have two feeders in the patio, protected by the "U" shape of the back of our house, and two guarding bay trees. The hawk comes in after birds, and doesn't realize how short the space is. This one, at least, was able to fly away. The last time, we had a hawk hanging around for a while while he recovered.

Pardon the unkempt look of this photo. We don't cut down our dead plants till spring time.... the seed heads on many of them feed birds during the winter. This hawk is only about 10 ft. from our patio door. If this was a cartoon, he'd have little stars and tweety birds flying around his head. He's wondering what in the world happened!

Only one out of three today. Once again, sleep time was about 6 3/4 hours. And tonight, very hungry, found the chocolate covered pomegranate seeds my daughter gave me in my stocking. Too much to resist, even though only 100 calories... not too bad, considering pigouts in the past. Back at 'em tomorrow!

Don't be sorry you didn't reach you 7 hours last night. Strive to reach it tonight - I know you can do it!

I love the picture - wow to have a hawk so close.

Snow today!! The birds are really taking advantage of our feeders today. Makes me feel good. I feel good and rested today. My walk yesterday, as always, has reduced my body's aches today.

Blah day. Washer overflowed. I did walk, but spent the rest of the day doing almost nothing. Should we blog when we feel this way?

Washer out for a few days, till my husband gets it fixed. He thinks there's something lodged in the drain pipe.

The SP Jumpstart video was especially hard for me today. Nichole just bounces easily from one pose to another (so did I at her age), but it takes me a few more seconds to get up. It's still very, very worth it. The shortness of the workouts makes it very "affordable" and its amazing what just 28 days of stretching yourself physically can do for your general fitness. I love it that she does very familiar stretches. My back says "ah, yes.... feels good!"

Can't believe I didn't blog yesterday, since I finally spent 8 hours in bed. Unfortunately, my husband woke me up around 5 a.m. with his coughing, and I don't know how long it took me to go back to sleep.

The serendipity? A very vivid nice dream, where someone redecorated my house in a very beautiful creative way. We were just talking about how to get my husband to pay for the thousands of dollars extra she put in, when I started waking up. (smile) What was neat to me, of course... that the creative brain was my own!

I exercised about 40 minutes today, but only yoga yesterday.

I struggle with 8 hours a sleep daily...it's more like 6.5 seems to be my number.
I love yoga, I wish I could afford to go to a yoga class, so stress relieving!

Hope you have a great week!

Almost made 7 hours of sleep last night. Still after midnight when I went to bed, but coming from a 2 - 3 a.m. habit, that's not bad. I'll take it.
