Days 3 and 4

Saturday, May 05, 2012

Completed Nicole's video for Day 3; did nothing else but was pretty active all day long. Steps for the day: 7455, which is pretty good for me on a non-cardio day.

Day 4: Completed video. I like this day's video: upper body workout with a band. Did Leslie Sansone 2-mile video. I don't even sweat till the beginning of mile 2. I'm glad I did two exercise sessions, but disappointed with my overall activity; Sat most of the day. Steps: 5855

Have not felt like exercising the last two days. I'm not getting enough sleep. Have no trouble going to sleep or having a restful sleep. I simply wake up to early, and once I'm awake, there's no going back to sleep, even if it's 5:30 a.m. Normal wakeup: 7 a.m.
And it's bedtime again: good night.

Thank you so much, those of you who posted comments. It was extremely encouraging. Thank you for taking the time.

I set my alarm for 5:30 am with plans to meditate at that time (RPM - rise, pee, meditate) and most days I do get out of bed and do it, some days I get out of bed, turn off the alarm, and get back in bed.

You shouldn't be disappointed. The fact that you are doing some, and enjoying some of it, is what counts.
On a normal working day, if I don't do any treadmill I struggle to get to 3500 steps, even with housework when I get home.
Keep it up. You are doing great.

Day 2

Thursday, May 03, 2012

I'm really hesitant to record this, for fear I won't carry through with it. Right now, though, it seems appropriate to be accountable here.

Yesterday, Day 2, I exercised twice: one with Nicole's video, which was challenging as always. I also did 45 minutes with Leslie Sansone's video. My goal this month is to have 1000 exercise minutes.

Bonus? The knowledge of how easy that "3-mile" walk is compared to when I started. My arms and legs haven't recovered from carting bags around Paducah, and the familiar exercise is helping me recover.

Awesome. Just take it a day at a time. Whilst I am great at planning ahead I find that with my exercise I take it a day at a time so that I don't overwhelm myself with the larger goal.

Go, girl!! I'm doing the Boot camp vid (only once) and keeping with my running program with a couple of extra days of walking thrown in to make 5 days of cardio. That Pilates Abs video was kickin'!

Be blessed!

You are doing great. Carting bags around Paducah.. are you a quilter? Quilters know how to start big projects full of many details and finish. emoticon emoticon

Spring into Shape Bootcamp Challenge

Tuesday, May 01, 2012

emoticon

Day 1 - My son and I did this last year, and there was a discernible difference in my strength and flexibility. It was really fun to do it with my son; we both enjoyed it and benefited from it.

Just got back from a 6-day trip to Paducah, KY, to the AQS Quilt show. My friend and I walked a lot, and much of it was carrying heavy bags of the goodies we'd bought. That combined with two days of travel (there and back), and my body's sore and grumbling.

Tonight I walked only 12 minutes, though before the trip I'd been walking much longer than that. ( I had over 900 fitness minutes in April) Once I catch up on my sleep I'll be more ambitious. I love the ability within Spark People to do minimum work, at least once in a while, and still feel okay about it. One challenge I have is "all or nothing" approach to challenges. Does not work well.

I signed up for this challenge and then did nothing. I'm behind reading blogs and I see that you are doing great! I have joined a gym and gotten a trainer and had my first session yesterday...I can sure feel it.

I'm doing the Spring into Shape Bootcamp, too! This is the first time I've done any of the bootcamp challenges but I felt like I needed something a little different for a while.

It sounds like you had a great trip! I love going to quilt shows. I'm fascinated by the creativity displayed at them. I, unfortunately, don't have nearly enough time or space to devote to quilting.

Be blessed!!!

Gift from Spark People?

Thursday, April 12, 2012

I started out the day with 25 Spark Points. Has this happened to anyone else? I almost hate to raise my hand about this "gift," for fear someone will make sure it doesn't happen again.

I'm always amused when I get this because I end up spinning the Bonus wheel before I spin the normal wheel.

Loving this time of year.....

Monday, April 02, 2012

This is Mister Lincoln. Isn't he beautiful? Wish all of you could smell this rose; we actually picked him out by going to a rose show and sniffing around. It's glorious! This picture was taken less than an hour ago as I write this.

Though he doesn't get enough sun, we feed him from "compost juice" and I've never seen a healthier plant.

I just tried to find my total exercise minutes for March, and couldn't figure out how to do it. It was over 800 minutes, though, which is a new record for me.

I love fragrant flowers, roses in particular. It makes me sad to see the ones in the supermarkets that look lovely but smell like cardboard!

I love Mr. Lincoln! I don't have enough sun for roses or I'd surely have one in my garden. My herbs get by pretty well but I had to move my Lady Banks to Mammaw's yard because she didn't get enough sun to bloom down here.

I'm glad you're enjoying the "fruits" of your labor!

Oh Mr. Lincoln Roses are wonderful! I have several of them in my back yard. They have wonderful fragrance. Mine aren't out here in the north yet.
