Taking action...

Friday, May 17, 2013

So my action step today was to pick an area in my life other than weight loss that I can set a goal and work toward well rounded health.

I've done this already :)

A few months ago I joined a massage salon and now I go for regular monthly massages. This has helped me destress, work out the nagging back pains and just have a little me time.

I look forward to my massages every month :)

YAY me! :)

"Me time" is wonderfully necessary, and massages are an awesome way to prioritize yourself. Good for you!

Doing what is necessary for yourself is often very necessary. I would never do the message thing but I'm glad that it works for you.

Stay the course and you will win.

WOW!

Thursday, May 09, 2013

Today on Spark Coach the daily visualization was:
Daily Visualization

Today, visualize yourself in your favorite place in the world, whether it's your bedroom or a far-off country. Breathe deeply and take in all the positive energy from that place to carry with you today. How can you use some of that good energy to help you reach your goals?

WOW! Of course my favorite place in the world is Fenway Park, Boston. My visual image was of me sitting in the tight small historic seats and having plenty of room to move and breath.

Amazing motivation for me today.....just amazing!

Visualization is, beyond a doubt, one of the most powerful tools ever. I have lived by them all of my adult life and they work!

You're doing so great with your weight loss. Soon you'll be able to take of photo of yourself in that seat and will actually have the extra room to move & breathe. Proud of you!

I need a good swift kick in the butt!

Monday, April 22, 2013

I only lost 1/2 a pound last week and now i'm struggling with my confidence and motivation.

I haven't stopped tracking, exercising and eating healthy, but it feels like I've lost some of the passion for my goals.

So I need a good butt kicking to get me sparked up again.

If I kicked myself every time I only lost a half pound (or none at all) I would be in next week and full of bruises.

Don't be so hard on yourself, kiddo. You are doing just fine.

I'll kick you but you have to promise to kick back! I'm ready! It's time for me to start exercising not only my body and mind but also my discipline!

Why would you need a kick when you're doing everything right? It'll come if you stay on track. I've wandered off a bit and need to get back on, I need the kick!! I know we always want things done quickly but this just isn't one of them! Stay the course, you're doing awesome!!! emoticon emoticon

emoticon half a pound is still a victory and a step toward your goals! It may not be the giant leap you were hoping for, but slow and steady wins the race, so don't give up hope, just know that you're doing it the right way and that it's more likely to stay off!

Hey congrats on the 1/2 lb. That is an accomplishment. When I first started in sparkepeople I lived by what the scale said. I would get frustrated that it wasn't going down as fast as I expected it too. I had to take accomplishments in the small things. Maybe my clothes where fitting loser, maybe my I had more energy, maybe the chair at the movie theather wasn't as tight...etc....Your making progress...that is all that matters...don't give up...

Leave out the "only" and you've lost a half pound. You're going in the right direction, so take that as a positive. I did all the tracking, eating, exercising for almost a month before the scale noticed. Don't lose heart. It will all come together!

Keep in mind - not everything is "in the scale". Just because the scale hasn't moved doesn't mean you haven't made progress towards your goals.

Oh man I shouldn't have done that!

Thursday, April 04, 2013

I weighted myself again this morning, and it's not my normal weigh in day.

I'm just so excited about the progress that I have made so far and I let my anxiousness get the best of me.

I've gotta to let that go and stop putting so much stock in what that damned scale says!

Don't get me wrong, it's not that I gained, or made a mistake, it's that I just weighed yesterday and really didn't need to know that the scale hadn't moved one ounce in a day!

Those negative thoughts come rolling around in my head and I started beating myself up over it.

Seriously! Get a grip, the weight didn't come on overnight and it surely isn't going to disappear overnight. It is a process and I am doing a great job so put your clothes back on, get off that scale and celebrate the sucess that this week has been!

Thanks Spark Coach!

crystal you are doing a wonderful job!! the scale is evil and don't like to co-operate especially if you weigh ahead of time. throw it in a closet out of sight until it's weigh day and then it can't conspire against you ...lol congrats on the great weightloss.... keep up the great work !!!
