It had its moments...I didn't log everything... I stopped tracking, tore my ankle, was stressed out, and gained weight... not surprisingly! I am OK with the year... and know how to do better.
The stress was mainly from family health issues... and hopefully the new year will see those disappear... My husbands stress fracture, my maternal grandmothers two hospitalizations, my aunt, my uncle and my stepfather all had major surgery, and my cousin delivered a preemie (who is thankfully now doing well), and the passing of my paternal grandmother.
BUT I did run the Disney Princess Half Marathon and the Disneyland Half marathon. I also ran the Chilly Chase 15km race.
I ran through the year, took up cycling, did some swimming. Decided I'd love to do a triathlon. Unfortunately 2012 doesn't look like the year for that.... I will cycle, I will swim, will continue running... but unless someone finds me a local-ish tri that fits my schedule it won't be happening. Way too many commitments!
2012 we as a family are headed to Scotland & Iceland. And as a family we have committed to getting ready for the world pipe-band championships.... My sons band will be playing in them... Therefore many more weekends are taken by band than last year... The only local race I can fit in is just weeks after spending nearly two months travelling.... Definitely not ideal!
Goals for 2012...
- Track, Track, Track!e
- Drink Water
- Fuel for Exercise
- Eat a mainly Vegan diet
- Figure out how to eat vegan while travelling!
- Cycle 2x per week (weather permitting)
- Run 2-3x per week
- Swim 1x per week
- Strength training 2-3x per week....
