Happy and Peaceful

Monday, November 19, 2012

Today I found an old fortune cookie that I had saved. It read:
Your life will be happy and peaceful.
I really liked this one and saved it. My life hasn't always been happy and peaceful. Right now it is calm. The stress level right now is very low. But I will strive for happy and peaceful. I find that if I commit to 10 minutes of fitness a day, it usually leads to longer exercise sessions. Being 58 I can't compete with the younger crowd. Though I sure do try. I love doing Jillian Michaels and Cathe Friedrich. I also love kickboxing. But I find that my recovery takes more than a day. I get really sore in the abs, and it takes 4 days to recover! I am doing recumbent biking, and I make myself stay on the bike for 60 minutes. I am going to try and walk a mile in the morning after I get home from work. My legs are strong, I have to work on my upper body strength. Maybe I will do some strenth training on Tuesday. We will see.

You are doing really awesome. I love that you mix it up. Sometimes I forget to do that. It is fine that you listen to your body (something I need to do more often) and take the time you need to recover.

You are doing well on your exercise, starting with 10 minutes and doing more is great.

Be sure to do your strength, I did not so now I am. I don't know why I had a hard time with upper body strength, but I am doing much better now. Never too old! I am the same age as you.
Happy your stress level is down that is a plus. Keep moving you are doing great! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

No more excuses

Thursday, November 15, 2012

I am tired of being overweight. I have a habit of making excuses and putting things off (major procrastinator!).

I like the idea of committing to 10 minutes of fitness everyday. I can do this. It usually leads to longer workouts. I need to get a handle on things, especially my diet. It's going to be hard but I think I can do it.

Yes, emoticon . We all have faith in you. Yes I have noticed as long as I get my clothes on, my shoes tied up and walk out the door, then I usually finish what I started out to do and get 60 minutes of movement in. And it feels so good afterwards.

walked 2.77 miles with Daisy (my dog).

I set a goal I could see and went for it. I forgot my knee brace but was able to complete my mission.

I am hoping by the first week of December to walk this route morning and afternoon for a total of 5.54 miles a day. This is a goal I think I can fulfill. This will be my fall/winter goal. Daisy and I did very well. But I have to remember my knee brace!

Not looking forward to a long night at work tonight. Working at a newspaper means we have to wait for the election polls to close. We have to wait and see who wins the election before the presses can roll.

Woke up early. No exercise. But I did have a delicious healthy breakfast smoothie. I think this little tweak in my diet will help me a lot.
