Walked 65 minutes. 3.17 miles

I might take the day off from walking tomorrow. My toes are sore, my knee is sore and my Achilles heel feels like it is getting sore. I think I nice ice pack will feel good right now. Or maybe I should think about shortening my walks. Either way, I will exercise doing something else tomorrow. Maybe work on my upper body. Have a great day!

I started walking earlier this week. Started walking outside. Monsoon weather pushed me inside to my treadmill. I did not let the weather discourage me. I rearranged some music on my iPod and am enjoying the treadmill.

I have a bad habit of jumping off the treadmill and doing other things around the house. I want to train myself to focus on just walking. I am trying to add jogging into my walk. Running is out of my life, I have a bad knee I have to baby and also a bad heel, both on the left leg.

I am trying to do some resistance cord exercises too. I really have to work on my diet. But one step at a time. I hope I can exercise at least 30 minutes a day.

My ultimate goal is to be able to walk 3 miles a day. All I have to do is concentrate!

My inspiration for this is a 80 year old man that jogs every day in my neighborhood. If he can do it, SO CAN I!

I having been trying since the beginning of the year to get back into the routine of dieting and exercising. I am turning 60 this Sunday. I have a couple of friends that passed away last year. They were my age. I have another couple of friends who have serious health issues. My husband has neurological problems that started to get worse this year.

I finally had an "aha" moment. I want to be healthy, so I started counting calories, which I always hated doing. My knee stopped hurting and my shoulder stopped hurting too. So I started biking and walking. I am going fairly easy because I don't want to hurt myself. I tend to over extend myself and injure myself. So hopefully this is my spring kickoff. So wish me luck!

I am feeling exhausted. I thought retiring would be an easy thing. I am packing up a house to move to AZ. Thank goodness I have til the end of January! I worked 12 years in a row on the night shift. I thought I would have an easy time getting into a "normal" sleep pattern. But so far I am still awake a 3 AM. I try and wake up early and let the sun hit me. It helps, but about 3 PM, I feel like a truck hit me! Can't wait to be in AZ, then I can begin my dieting and exercising. I do feel my packing in my glutes though.

    Once you are in a routine in AZ maybe you'll have an easier time falling into a new normal.
