Pepper Makes A Difference!

Tuesday, September 15, 2009

I just want to take a moment to thank Pepper for re-motivating me. As I stepped on the scale with impending dread, I found that I'm still going down on pounds. This is good. This adds to the reinforcement I needed to get back on track. I went to store and bought the needed healthy food and I'm ready to start again.

I also found some posts from a new friend, and thank you for those.

An update is in order, since I began the BP medicine, my BP is down to 123/88 as of last Dr visit. WOOHOO! I sure feel much better. I'm having fewer migraines.

Motivation is a two-way street, Des. You have always been one to encourage me and others. Best of luck to all of us!

I Am What I Am

Friday, August 07, 2009

I am who I am because of the experiences and influences that have shaped my life. Take me as I am or just leave me the heck alone!

That's my new motto.

Went to the Dr yesterday for my daughter, who is Anemic now. Got my blood pressure checked while I was in there and was told I was in a dangerous range for a stroke. It was 162/117. So, if I wasn't convinced I need to make a change, I am more so now.

I did fairly good yesterday. Started new medicine for the BP. Managed to stay in a normal range of calories. I entered in what I ate, but I kinda changed the recipe a little for myself to cut down on the sodium, so the totals for dinner are probably higher than what I had.

I was just too tired to change anything. This was an intentional decision that falls in my favor and doesn't count against me.

I feel myself starting to gain momentum. I'm no where near where I was in 2006 when I really kicked my own butt on losing weight. But it's a one step at a time process and I'm making those first, very difficult, steps in the right direction.

I gotta go for now. I wish you all success today.

Starting Over - Trying Again

Monday, August 03, 2009

This time it might be life or death here. My blood pressure is out of control. My eating has been out of control. Daily headaches. Daily "signs" that I'm headed in absolute wrong direction. I need some serious "friend" help and motivation. It's been quite a while since I've been on SparkPeople as l0llygaggin, so If u remember me and wanna keep in contact, please do. If u don't know me, but want to be a friend, that's awesome too.

I just need some friendly motivation and encouragement, for I don't get it at home.

I don't know you from before. I've been on Spark People only since April, but I'm glad you're back. It's tough, but you can do it. Do it for yourself and those you love. If it looks too daunting, take small baby steps. You may not be able to take it all on at one time. I know I can't. Best wishes.

Good luck and take it one day at a time. Remember to drink you fluids and eat your fruits and veggies.

I am starting over as well today. I had lost some significant weight and then decided to stop smoking. During that I gained 22 lbs back so here I am again. I will gladly talk to you, encourage you, whatever you need. We can pull each other through this journey. I have 70 lbs to lose so I will be here a while. I also have blood pressure problems, daily headaches, so I sympathize!
