A THOUSAND
REASONS TO SMILE
A blind boy sat on the steps of a building with a hat by his feet. He held up a sign which said: "I am blind, please help." There were only a few coins in the hat.
A man was walking by. He took a few coins from his pocket and dropped them into the hat. He then took the sign, turned it around, and wrote some words. He put the sign back so that everyone who walked by would see the new words.
Soon the hat began to fill up. A lot more people were giving money to the blind boy. That afternoon the man who had changed the sign came to see how things were. The boy recognized his footsteps and asked, "Were you the one who changed my sign this morning? What did you write?"
The man said, "I only wrote the truth. I said what you said but in a different way." I wrote: "Today is a beautiful day but I cannot see it."
Both signs told people that the boy was blind. But the first sign simply said the boy was blind. The second sign told people that they were so lucky that they were not blind. Should we be surprised that the second sign was more effective?
"Life has to be an incessant process of repair and reconstruction, of discarding evil and developing goodness. Paddy grains have to be de-husked in order to become edible as rice. Cotton has to be converted as yarn to become wearable cloth. Gold nuggets have to be heated in the crucible to remove the impurities. Man too, must purify his impulses, emotions and desires and cultivate good thoughts, words and deeds so that he can progress spiritually." ~ Prasanthi Nilayam
MORAL OF THE STORY:
Invite others towards good with wisdom. Live life with no excuse and love with no regrets. When life gives you a 100 reasons to cry, show life that you have 1000 reasons to smile. Face your past without regret. Handle your present with confidence. Prepare for the future without fear. Keep the faith and drop the fear.

If you have a dream ...
Don't wait for some distant day to come,
it may be too late before you've even begun.
Not everyone will agree with all you decide ...
Sometimes "the majority" only means that all the fools are on the same side.
Be true to yourself first and foremost ...
The only important thing in life is what you do with the time you spend here on earth.
Don't be afraid to follow your desires ...
They are neither silly nor selfish; take the time and do what makes you feel alive.
Leave your fears and regrets in the past ...
Our eyes are placed in front because it's more important to look ahead than to look back.
If you look back, your journey is ended ...
You have only today to begin anew and follow your dreams, for in the end, all we have are our memories.
Do not quiet your dreams ...
When the twilight comes to us, let there be no excuses, no explanations, no regrets!

Achieve Your Dreams
Life is what happens while you are making other plans.

It's better to be trusted than liked, Underpromise - Overperform.
The key to happiness and success is to have a dream.
All the flowers of tomorrow are in the seeds of today.
You always pass failure on the way to success.
You have to wake up in order for your dreams to come true.

YESTERDAY, TOMORROW
... and TODAY
The journey's our goal, our path is the point ...
There are two days in every week we should never worry about,
two days that should be kept free from fear and apprehension.
One is yesterday, with its mistakes and cares, its aches and pains, its faults and blunders.
Yesterday has passed forever beyond our control.
All the money in the world cannot bring back yesterday.
We cannot undo a single act we performed, nor erase a single word we've said. Yesterday is gone.
The other day we should not worry about is tomorrow, with its impossible adversaries,
its burden, its hopeful promise and unknown performance.
Tomorrow is beyond our control.
Tomorrow's sun will rise either in splendor or behind a mask of clouds ...
but it will rise ... and until it does.
We have no stake in tomorrow, for it is as yet unborn.
This leaves only one day: TODAY!
Anyone can fight the battles of just one day.
It is only when we add the burdens of yesterday and tomorrow that we break down.
It is not the experience of today that drives people mad.
It is the remorse of bitterness for something that happened
yesterday, and the dread of what tomorrow may bring.
Make TODAY the best day it can be,
and live one day at a time!
