It is easy enough to be pleasant, when life flows by like a song,
But the man worthwhile is one who will smile, when everything goes dead wrong;
For the test of the heart is trouble, and it always comes with the years,
And the smile that is worth the praises of earth is the smile that shines through tears.
It is easy enough to be prudent, When nothing tempts you to stray,
When, without or within, no voice of sin Is luring your soul away;
But it's only a negative virtue Until it is tried by fire,
And the life that is worth the honor of earth Is the one that resists desire..
By the cynic, the sad, the fallen — who had no strength for the strife,
The world's highway is cumbered today; they make up the sum of life;
But the virtue that conquers passion, and the sorrow that hides in a smile,
It is these that are worth the homage on earth, for we find them but once in a while.

FRIENDS FOREVER NEAR
As we walk along our path of life,
We meet people every day,
Most are simply met by chance,
But some are sent our way.
These become the special friends
Whose bond we can’t explain,
The ones who understand us
And share our joy and pain.
Their love contains no boundaries,
So even when apart,
Their presence still embraces us
With a warmth felt in the heart.
This love becomes a passageway
Where even the miles disappear,
And the special friends life sends our way
Remain forever near.

... FRIENDSHIP ...
Friendship needs no studied phrases,
Polished face, or winning wiles;
Friendship deals no lavish praises,
Friendship dons no surface smile.
Friendship follows Nature's diction,
Shuns the blandishments of Art,
Boldly severs truth from fiction,
Speaks the language of the heart.
Friendship favors no condition,
Scorns a narrow-minded creed,
Lovingly fulfills its mission,
Be it word or be it deed.
Friendship cheers the faint and weary,
Makes the timid spirit brave,
Warns the erring, lights the dreary,
Smoothes the passage to the grave.
Friendship - pure, unselfish friendship,
All through life's allotted span,
Nurtures, strengthens, widens, lengthens,
Man's relationship with man.
i am so grateful for all the help and support i have recieived to date.................
it is what has kept me here no matter how difficult the challenge ................
i have continued to plod along ever so slowly, acheiving small success along the way............
i want to thank each and everyone.................who have passed my way and somehow made my load a little easier and kept me going when the going was very difficult.............without all the help and support i would not be here....................
i would like to encourage others that when the road is longer than anticipated just keep on..............no matter what and don't give up........................never never give up.................

By Christian D. Larson
To be so strong that nothing
can disturb your peace of mind.
To talk health, happiness, and prosperity
to every person you meet.
To make all your friends feel
that there is something in them
To look at the sunny side of everything
and make your optimism come true.
To think only the best, to work only for the best,
and to expect only the best.
To be just as enthusiastic about the success of others
as you are about your own.
To forget the mistakes of the past
and press on to the greater achievements of the future.
To wear a cheerful countenance at all times
and give every living creature you meet a smile.
To give so much time to the improvement of yourself
that you have no time to criticize others.
To be too large for worry, too noble for anger, too strong for fear,
and too happy to permit the presence of trouble.
To think well of yourself and to proclaim this fact to the world,
not in loud words but great deeds.
To live in faith that the whole world is on your side
so long as you are true to the best that is in you

'I Hope You Dance ..!!!
This was written by an 83-year-old
woman to her friend. *The last line
says it all. *
Dear Bertha .
I'm reading more and dusting less.
I'm sitting in the yard and admiring the view
without fussing about the weeds in the garden.
I'm spending more time with my family and friends
and less time working.
Whenever possible, life should be a pattern of experiences to savour, not to endure.
I'm trying to recognize these moments now
and cherish them.
I'm not 'saving' anything; we use our
good china and crystal for every special event such
as losing a pound, getting the sink unstopped,
or the first Amaryllis blossom.
I wear my good blazer to the market.
My theory is if I look prosperous,
I can shell out $28.49 for one small bag of groceries.
I'm not saving my good perfume for special parties,
but wearing it for clerks in the hardware
store and tellers at the bank.
'Someday' and 'one of these days'
are losing their grip on my vocabulary.
If it's worth seeing or hearing or doing,
I want to see and hear and do it now !!
I'm not sure what others would've done
had they known they wouldn't be here
for the tomorrow that we all take for granted.
I think they would have called family members
and a few close friends.
They might have called a few former friends to apologize and mend fences for past squabbles.
I like to think they would have gone out for a Chinese dinner or for whatever their favourite food was.
I'm guessing; I'll never know.
It's those little things left undone
that would make me angry if I knew
my hours were limited.
Angry because I hadn't written certain letters that
I intended to write one of these days.
Angry and sorry that I didn't tell my husband and parents often enough how much I truly love them.
I'm trying very hard not to put off,
hold back, or save anything
that would add laughter and lustre to our lives.
And every morning when I open my eyes,
tell myself that it is special.
Every day, every minute, every breath truly is a gift from God!
first time you didn't do the little thing that would make a difference in your relationships? I can tell you it certainly won't be the last.
'People say true friends must always hold hands, but true friends don't need to hold hands because they know the other hand will always be there.'
Life may not be the party we hoped for, but
while we are here we might
as well dance !!
there is not much to report as yet except have managed to lose a little so far and no change with my blood work, just had it done a few days ago.................my dr has decided to get me another opinion for knee replacemnets so will see what happpens there................i am feeling a little less exausted this week...................so the meds are working so it seems................
