well here we are in septemberalready,it hard to believe.............we just celebrated our 38th wedding aniversary,where oh where do the years go............i'm back to being where i was before the surgery almost....................................
........with the exercise,but i have added some changes to jazz things up a bit.............weekdays i do pool work,walk and do the bike thing....................weekends will do the pool..............so for now am exercising 2hr/day/7days/week...................have lost another pound this week.................also found out a can't do marathons till next year,so will start to train slowly and who knows maybe a can enter something shorter,that will help challenge myself for the longer haul.........................
i'm doing different virtual challenges like walking around scotland and england,and the oregan trail.plus i walked around vancouver island where i live................i'm managing to get 20,000-26,000 steps in /day ............just figured that out and can't beleive but it works out to be 10/13 miles/day..............i sure wish sparkpeople would have some of these virtual walks,it adds a different dimention and motivation to the exercise routine................ .........hugs to all.........................lita

am away for some r&r........................
internet is not great here only short bursts at best and some days better than others so am going with the flow..................do miss my sparkpeople friends and buddies..............................
am walking the beaches and so far am up to 6/miles /day,am feeling great..........................not able to weight as there are no scales here...............so expect to maintain at least for now...................next week back to my pool and rehab for the knees and can't wait......................my physio says if this continues may be able to start to train for a walking marathon this fall..........................a new goal to add to the list...................lita

well had my surgery and this is day 2 post-op.............i've amazed myself as well as others dr/physio at my progress.........had both knees scoped for as it turns out a torn meniscus with each knee..............feel a bit vindicated,because sometimes one does begin to beleive the pain is in your head espeicially when everone is unsure what the causes of the pain are???just knowing the causes makes me feel better............because of all those months in the pool .............it has payed off in dividends............have hardly and swelling and have greater mobility than expected????not sure what i expected,but it was not this..............i'm loving this to say the least..........don't need my cane or no need for crutches at all..............so am relaxing ,resting,elevating and levetating the remote.............that was day 1
day 2..............physio recombent bike x10min........walking x10min..........ice
+a machine(not ultra sound) x20 min................
spoke with physio re doing a walking marathon and she said as long as this continues............i may be able to start training in a few weeks...........have never done a marathon in my life.............so that will be exciting , something new to learn and a new goal to add to the list...........
day 3..........back to rest,relax,elevate and levitate the remote............did upper body srenght training.............20 min

    I am glad the surgery went well, and you are feelng better than you expected. It is awesome that you are feeling so great that you are able to do some exercises. I am glad this surgery has not held you down, and you have not lost any of your momentem!

well am happy to report one pound weightloss this week........it does help to keep one motivated.............either way i'm still quite motivated ............my surgery is a week from monday and i'll be rather inactive for about 2 weeks so i'm told..........so will have to find a variety of exercises to do,as i can't go in the pool...........i just realized since i've started with sp at the end of march.have lost a total of 17 lbs.............hugs to all..................lita

    Great job on your current weight loss. WooHoo! I am sure your after surgery down time will be no problem for a well seasoned "Heathy lifestyle' person like you. You will be able to move your arms after the surgery won't you? Lift maybe light weigts?

    YAHOO Lita, you are doing good girl! i know you are having surgery on your knees so you won't be able to do much when it comes to a work out, so i guess its time to work on getting your arms and top half of your body a work out! i am sure if we all put our heads together we will find some easy thing for you to be able to do! well that and don't forget you are our head cheer leader, i did it today, wow what a work out that was.lol. the girls were all on today and all were buzzing today! have a great day, see you on the boards!
