As I went through my emails today I came across this one. Usually I just delete them as I always do not have time to read things like this. But today I was starting to question what this weight loss journey was all about. What is the point of giving to others? What is the point of doing my absolute best and not seeing the results I want. (Basically I was feeling sorry for myself). So very begrudgingly I read the following. It made me think. It says so much of what I needed to be reminded of. All the ups and downs in life…REALLY DO have a reason to them.
(Just wanted to share it with you all. Have a great day…DO YOU BELIEVE?)

Never take away anyone's hope or pride. That may be all they have.

A Birth Certificate shows that we were born
A Death Certificate shows that we died
Pictures show that we lived!
Have a seat. Relax . . .
And read this slowly.

I Believe...
That just because two people argue,
It doesn't mean they don't love each other.
And just because they don't argue,
It doesn't mean they do love each other.
I Believe...
That we don't have to change friends if
We understand that friends change.
I Believe....
That no matter how good a friend is,
they're going to hurt you every once in
awhile and you must forgive them
for that.
I Believe...
That true friendship continues to grow,
even over the longest distance.
Same goes for true love.
I Believe...
That you can do something in an instant
That will give you heartache for life.
I Believe....
That it's taking me a long time
To become the person I want to be.
I Believe...
That you should always leave loved
ones with Loving words.
It may be the last time you see them.
I Believe....
That you can keep going long after
you think you can't.
I Believe....
That we are responsible for what
We do, no matter how we feel.
I Believe...
That either you control your attitude
or it controls you.
I Believe...
That heroes are the people who do
what has to be done when it needs
to be done, regardless of the
I Believe....
That my best friend and I can do
anything or nothing and have the
best time.
I Believe....
That sometimes the people you expect
to kick you when you're down
will be the ones to help you get back up.
I Believe...
That sometimes when I'm angry
I have the right to be angry,
But that doesn't give me the right to
be cruel.
I Believe....
That maturity has more to do with what types of experiences you've had
And what you've learned from them and
less to do with how many birthdays
you've celebrated
I Believe....
That it isn't always enough,
to be forgiven by others.
Sometimes, you have to learn to
forgive yourself.
I Believe...
That no matter how bad your heart
is broken the world doesn't stop for
your grief.
I Believe....
That our background and circumstances
may have influenced who we are,
But, we are responsible for who we
I Believe...
That you shouldn't be so eager to find
Out a secret. It could change your life
I Believe....
Two people can look at the exact same
Thing and see something totally different.
I Believe...
That your life can be changed in a
matter of Hours by people who
don't even know you.
I Believe...
That even when you think you have
no more to give,
When a friend cries out to you -
you will find the strength to help.
I Believe...
That credentials on the wall
I Believe...
That the people you care about
most in life are taken from you too soon.
I Believe...
That you should send this to
all of the people that you believe in,
I just did.
do not make you a decent human being.
The happiest of people don't
necessarily have the best of
everything; They just make
the most of everything
they have.

2010...THIS IS my year!

Monday, January 04, 2010

Wow...hard to believe that 2009 is in the past! Another year has come and gone.

2009 has brought not only trials but it has opened up new challenges.
As I look back on the past year I reflected on all that has happened. What have I learnt from all that I went through? Have I changed for the better? Am I willing to make my life better? Or am I going to feel sorry for myself?

Well lets see... I have learnt that I am not going to get healthy and fit unless I CHOSE to do it. I am NOT going to get bette at handling life's challenges UNLESS I chose to do so. My life will only go the DIRECTION that I chose it to go.

2010 is going to BE my year. Yes I will have the ups and downs. I will have the mountain tops and all the happiness that I wish to have. And I WILL have the VALLEYS too. I am going to take each and every moment of this year and LEARN from it. The good and the bad. I will learn the lessons this year and work on myself. I WILL stay positive in each and every situation. I will find the joy in all that happens.

I WILL stay on track and keep myself healthy and fit. AND if I fall off the 'wagon' I WILL pick myself up, dust off the butt, and get back on! I know that life has it's ups and downs, but everything happens for a purpose. I just have to SEEK and FIND it.

2010 IS going to be my year.....and I am looking forward to it all. Life is only what I want it to be and I WANT IT TO BE THE BEST YET!

Meaning of Christmas

Tuesday, December 22, 2009

This time of year brings many challenges for us. With the baking, the shopping, the hectic schedules, the visiting, the parties and all the other holiday events.

Sometimes we get so totally focused on the material aspect of this season that we tend to forget what it is REALLY all about!

It is not about the decorations. It is not about the Goodies. It is not about the gifts. It is not about the parties. It is not about any of those aspects of the material world.

It's all about the giving...not what you buy BUT of ourselves. The spirit of Christmas is that one second smile as we pass a stranger. The way a small child's eyes light up. The joy in our elderly as we hold open a door for them or help them across a busy street. The repect we give each other. It is the small things that we can do for each other. After all there is no greater gift we can give to others and to ourselves than the gift of ourselves.

Enjoy this holiday season everyone! Take time to give yourselves a pat on the back for your accomplishments. Think about what the real meaning of Christmas is for you and share it with everyone through your actions.

Remember that you may not know whose day you may change by just giving them a sincere smile....it will show in your eyes!

May the REAL meaning of Christmas be with all of you this season!

Your words are so true! This year our Christmas will be different. My M-I-L went into hospital 3 weeks ago with breathless problems. They still don't know what is causing it so she will be hospital for Christmas. Apart from myself and husband (her youngest of two sons) the nerxt nearest relation is an hour's travelling away which is difficult with our current weather conditions here in the UK, so unless one of her neighbours visits once a week, we are visiting every day unless the weather and traffic situations stop us from making the journey. We have therefore bought no presents (we don't have to get many anyway) but I have sent all the Christmas cards. We have not bought any extra food for Christmas, as we will probably be visiting hospital and will eat "something" whenever we get back home! She would have been with us for Christmas had she been at home so we will spend Christmas with her!

I wish you every joy and happiness this Christmas!
