Progress

I've not weighed myself in over a month.
I've not binged in over a month.
I'm eating to sustain my lifestyle.
I'm learning what it feels like to be done.
Within a month I have progressed in lifting ...
75 lbs on the bench press
175 lbs on the leg press
I no longer avoid the weight room.
I'm learning that taking up space is okay.
I've started sleeping better & feeling better.
I've learned that some people should not subscribe to drink more water ... It's harmful.
I no longer take anyone's word for it ... They must produce science to back up their claim when it comes to this journey.

Side note:
Only 10 days left till the 3 month houseguest departs & my life returns to regular scheduled programming.

Cardio and Lifting

I went from having no workout partners for years to two and a half. LOL

I lift weights with one partner.
Cardio is on tap with the other.
My half is the Mr ... we may or may not do something together on the weekends.

Now that I'm fueling more appropriately my workouts are easier and less devastating to my body. I lift heavy weights and have progressed quickly. The cardio is just fun ... most days. I'm working on body recomp instead of fat loss at the moment.

I'm not tracking food right now but eating as my body dictates. I've also cut back on my water intake to ease the pain of being ice cold most days.

In 13 ... THIRTEEN ... days our 3 month ... THREE MONTH ... house guest gets on a plane. I get my life back, my me time and my workout area. It's been an exhausting, fun, frustrating, not so frustrating and expensive time with her. I would NEVER have asked anyone to stay that long and the Mr now understands why one doesn't extend this type of invitation. *sigh*

Slow and Steady

I haven't posted any blogs lately but that doesn't mean I haven't been around.

I'm slowly trying to reprogram myself ... body and mind. With that and the vast amount of information I've been taking in I certainly don't want to be "that person" ... you know the one who suddenly discovers something new and shinny and thinks everyone should come along and play. HA!

The short version:
I have bumped up my calorie intake and my binge eating episodes have been reduced. I no longer hunt for food or panic about eating too much or too little. I'm a bit fluffier than I was but not by much yet I feel healthier.
Restructuring life so I no longer restrict calories to the point of hurting myself has been difficult. Less is NOT better.
I'm relearning that food is not evil. There are no good foods or bad foods ... just food. Peanut butter was off limits because I couldn't control myself around it. Well ... now peanut butter and I exist together - at home AND the office.
I'm still working on secret eating and suspect that will be a long process (as most of this will be) due to it starting around age six.
I'm also trying not to over train aka workout due to the increase in calories. That isn't a good place to live either.

Really what I'm trying to say is that I'm looking for balance in all that I do. It's a tough road and I get scared sometimes but it's better than slowly derailing and living in fear.

Workouts:
I've started to lift weights and minimize my cardio. But if I feel like banging out a cardio routine I get my groove on. I'm still walking too ... it's really a great form of exercise!

I'm going to the doctor tomorrow to discuss a few health related issues.
Fatigue
Being Cold
Joint stiffness in my hands
Foggy Brain

I think my thyroid meds need to be changed and I'd like her to order a blood sugar test.

Negative Talk ... It's EXHAUSTING

Yup ... negative talk IS exhausting. And ... dare I say it - frustrating.

If you talk negatively about yourself to yourself and others ... try to quiet that voice. Be kind.

I used to call myself fat. I now refer to myself as curvy.

I used to say I was going to go shopping at the fat woman's store. I now refer to them as ... wait for it ... a store. SHOCKING. Yup, I shop at a store that happens to carry clothes for women that have curves.

Words Hurt!

If you don't want others to see or refer to you negatively stop acting and talking negative.

    It's a good thing no one can listen in on my own negative self-talk... Even though I've gotten a little better, there are still occasional bursts of profanity.

Let's Eat & Workout

Food:
Yo, it's hard to eat nutrient dense foods at a tune of 2,200 calories a day.
Bumping up my calorie intake by 740 calories a day is SCARY.
What's not scary ... not feeling the need to binge or "hunt" for food.
What's even scarier ... discovering just how unhealthy my relationship is when it comes to food and food intake.
What's amazing ... knowing and attempting to break the cycle.

Workouts:
I love lifting. Lifting heavy things and putting them back down.
My muscles ache today. I'm going back to the gym again tonight.
I love to sweat and do lots of cardio. I'm going back to the gym tonight.
