All caught up

You get all caught up in l ife, and realize; " where did my healthy lifestyle go?" I have had a number of events keeping me from even thinking about a focus the last few weeks.. However today is the first, its a monday and I am giving myself a fresh start!!
I have to stick with it this time, the wedding is approaching rapidly and I have 25 more to lose!!!

"Pink , pink, well what's wrong with pink? I think you have a pink kink in your think! It doesn't matter what what color you are, I guess nope. Whether it pink, purple or heliotrope. Look at you , you have a fine body, fine legs and fine feet. Get your head in the game and hey your complete!
And as for the dancing ,, you can do more. You can do great things , in fact you can soar. Just grab a leg up and slap it on down, and you find your up in what's called a bound. Bound! Bound! Bound and rebound! Bound and your up right next to the sky, and i think you can do it if you give it a try!!

It's amazing what a cartoon can teach you! Thank you Mr. Antelope!

Wednesday was going to be my cheat day. I go to fantasy football meetings at Hooters with boys on this night. How do you hang out with boys and not enjoy a tall frosty draft and a few wings? Well here is my new idea. I will have a few times during the week when it is ok to indulge, such as my fantasy football night, and then make the rest of my decisions that day and the day after good ones.
That is what those snacks and chocolates are really for right? The occasional treat for yourself or with your friends, or that family dinner with your favorite boston creme pie.. They are not meant to run your way of thinking when it comes to eating, or to become evil when you decide that it is time to make a lifestyle change or lose a few pound or even a few hundred.

However that's what is so great about our culture, we take an idea, such as a piece of cake at the birthday party and sensationalize it to the point where it is a national phenomena revamped, redone and resold to the public like it is supposed to be consumed everyday with every meal. Instead of being a treat it is now public enemy number one. So instead of downing the whole package of softbake cookies in a moment of weakness tonight, have your portion tonight, enjoy it and continue to make good decisions, in hope of another treat down the road!

    Since I committed to really losing weight, rather than thinking about it and acting completely differently, I have tried to follow that same thinking. I don't think I could make this a lifestyle change if I could never again eat my favorite foods or drink wine. The key has to be in moderation for me. I know there are some who think they can never eat unhealthy food again, but I can't make that permanent change. I try to plan in my lunches out, make the best choices I can, account for the extra calories in that one meal and plan the rest of my day accordingly. I have also been known to add in an extra day of cardio to burn an extra 300 or so calories when the one glass of wine turned into 2!

You have to find what works best for you, especially if you plan on making this your last weight loss effort!

Yesterday went well, it is so easy to back to a healthy lifestyle, just like it is super easy to go back to a lifestyle of junk food and couch potatoing.. I am proficient at both. The tricky part is sticking with the better option,,, I need to learn to love it everyday.

Today I am going to wash the car by hand,, I wonder if that will burn calories to equal a workout, b/c it is definitely going to take up half the day. My car is a disaster.There is a pile of water bottles on days where I was doing good. And there is apile of coke bottles from days I wasnt.. Its funny what your trash says about you, so next time I clean it ,, it will be all water bottles...

    I think it shows progress if you are feeling that getting back into a healthy routine is easy. I know that each time I slip back and forth it feels like I'm grinding gears but each time it gets a little less painful...

Maybe one of these days the healthy routines will be so ingrained in us that going back the other way will be what grinds the gears...

I'm heading for a fresh start too... Still trying to get the painting done and the house put back together... then it's on again

    I know you will learn to love healthy food I am not going to say as much as other non-healthy foods but it gets better. I think if you hand washed and waxed your car that would be a good workout but not sure how many calories it burns.
I too hope you have all water bottles next time. emoticon

I took the little one to daycare, and now it is time to get with it. I have a few errands, and I am going to vacuum, and tackle my bathroom today,,,yuck,,, then It off to visit my friend the treadmill and enjoy the rest of the day with my family.

I have a confession to make,, I am not perfect.. I know I know that's what everyone else thought too,,,lol but seriously , I am ready for a change. I am finished sitting on the little plateau i have created for myself. I have been off the wagon for a few weeks, and I still have people asking me if I have lost Weight,,, well no I have actually put a couple back on.. I dont want to olose the momentum of feeling this good about myself. So the bad eating will cease, and I locked up my liquor cabinet for a while too. I will miss you empty calories.. So it time to get with it, and its time get on with journey I have started..

    So you took a detour, lighten up. Glad to see you're back on your journey though. Pour cranberry juice in your wine glass and sip it slowly, maybe that will help you not miss the cabinet.
