Labor Day

Monday, September 06, 2010

Today has already been great.
I was on the treadmill for 35, and I picked up the dumbells. Arms will hurt in the morning.

I am making dinner this evening and I cant wait! I am trying salmon with fresh veggies and my own marinade. I never get creative in the kitchen. I make the family favs and never branch out. So that is my goal this week. to cook something new this week whenever I have a night off from work!

Everyone enjoy the holiday!

You did way better than me today. I skipped exercise all together, which means extra time the rest of the week. How was the salmon? Salmon is one of my favorites, but I usually just end up frying it with some Olive oil spray.

Hope the rest of your week goes well!

Great on the exercise! I got in 30 minutes as well. A friend of mine cooked for the holiday but I'm only eating the meat and the veggies being that I'm on a low-carb diet. I hope you continue to have a great day!

The Double

Sunday, September 05, 2010

I am about to go to work for the entire day. I will come home around midnight smelling like a steak and probably looking like one too. Everyone will be asleep. And I will be exhausted, but not enough to sleep. The day will be long. people will run me around needlessly. People will not give me what I deserve, and people will take advantage of me. Maybe that why they call it work!

Gee,, with all these positive things how can I not have a healthy day. ( really hard to be sarcastice and type) so encouragement is welcome and klets pray the cheese fries do not win!

The weekend.

Saturday, September 04, 2010

Weekends are rough. you have spent the whole week trying to live a healthy lifestyle. Then the weekend hits. The weekend is a time to enjoy your production and take a day or two off. People have dinner and families go out. And if you are working its the most streesful day of the week. The temptation to be bad is just right around the corner.
I have decided to make the weeknd my best days to live the healthy lifestyle. I am going to pack up every healthy snack i have for work and get on the treadmill early before I even begin to enjoy the rest of my day. And later on in the middle of the week when all of you are working hard or hardly working I will be enjoying the fruits of my labor with a well deserved day off and a well deserved glass of wine!

It is good to have a plan. Healthy snacks are a great start, and I agree with getting the exercise in early. It is just so tempting to skip it the later in the day I attempt to get started.

Enjoy that wine! (in moderation of course)

Temptation

I almost have a complete week on my hands,,, I just have to make it through work!!! I can Do this

I can do this!!

Most people go to an office or a store or a place of work where food is not served, even fast food counts in this category.. but i work for a commercial steakhouse. Number one you can get food half off and we are always sharing.. 2. sides are frees for us, so that 400 calorie side of fires is one question away.. 3. When we have a mistake that no one has touched we can have it... Example my guest wanted their cheese fries without jalepenos,,, I remember this right beofre the appetizer goes out... So I get a new one started. Well now what happens to the old one? It sits there and we call it a scooby snack. So now after I have eaten my veggies and yogurt, I now get to stare at this cheese friy while my stress level goes up..

Now back to my point.. I just need to make it through the weekend,, I can do this..

Spread the spark!

Thursday, September 02, 2010

So I work at a steakhouse, and I always have the guest who tells me they are on a diet what do I reccommend?

Well lately I find myself truly answering them. I am able to tell them the calories of the entrees most of the times, whether or not they contain gluten or too much salt or too much fat, or any dietary question. This is not b/c I have exceptional knowledge of where I work. No this is the result of Sparkpeople. I find myself telling them what I am doing to lose weight and why I know all this information. So the other day I was having an in depth conversation about the calories in a Filet, and I pulled out my Iphone to show them the Spark Application and realized.

"hey I am spreading the Spark"

So whether you realize it or not you are probably spreading the Spark b/c of the positive effect it has had on your life. Now imagine how your words are effecting others.

"Its not what you do, its what you start"
