Week 2

I had a super busy weekend helping at my church and consequently, healthy food was neither available, nor consumed! LOL I wound up eating pretty badly and because I was exhausted, I justified that I had somehow "earned" the break in the diet. So I didn't lose any pounds this week. Today, I'm off to a good start. I just have trouble "sticking with the program" when it comes to temptations to cheat, or at special events. I am just so used to cheating my diet, that when a special event comes up and there are desserts, I eat them with no reservation. I know the battle is in my mind. I need to remind myself what I'm doing and why so when those opportunities to cheat come up, and they come up often LOL, hopefully I will choose the right thing next time

    maybe its not a cheat, its being human and eating a TINY portion of what you like emoticon

    The temptations are normal and it's a battle to overcome them. Maybe set up a number of how many cheat items you get each week..... for example start with 3 then each day put 3 small marbles in your pocket. When you have a cheat item take one out of your pocket for the remainder of the week. That way you feel like you have more control and accountability to yourself. Great job on your journey thus far, you are making progress.

    Its all about choice. Choose the food 50% of the time for now, that means 1/2 the time you aren't. Then work on your moving the line up. Its not an easy thing to do. Its all around us, all over us, and with very little options.

It's been a long time...

I've been away for a very, very long time LOL. I'm just now coming back to spark people again. I love the community and the website, and it just makes fitness fun. Anyway, it's been a couple of years since I've been on here, so I thought I'd post a new entry to give you a little update. My kids are growing up so fast, and my weight has grown right along with them! LOL I don't think I'm enormous, but I do have 50 lbs to lose to get back to where I was when I got married ten years ago. I'm going to be eating clean and exercising 5-6 days a week. That seems to be the best thing that works for me, and I've tried it all. So, today is day one. again. I already exercised for 30 minutes, and so far, I've eaten well also. Wish me luck! I'm starting over again, but I plan to make it stick this time. (of course, we all say that at the start each time we start again, but I don't want to keep going on the way I'm going.) My husband is doing very well on his diet, and I don't want him to be skinnier than me!!! Thanks for stopping by :D

June in Review

So June had ups and downs, but I think overall, it was a positive experience. I did make steps forward, I lost inches, even though my weight went up and down (but averaged the same) I know I came away with progress:
- I'm exercising more, regularly, and consistently
- I'm making better food choices
- I'm still going and not giving up
- I feel better and have more energy
So, I count June overall, a success. Hopefully July is just as good, if not better! :D

week 4 review

...well I had the best intentions. I didn't do horribly, but it wasn't great. this week, like the weeks past, was a complete blur. So I didn't kick week 4's butt like I had hoped. But tomorrow is a new day and a new week. I'm going to try to get off corn syrup all together and stop eating wheat. I think wheat sensitivity may be the culprit behind some health issues I'm having. Maybe it will help me lose some weight too. Here's hoping!

Week 4, day 1

I'm totally going to kick week 4's butt!!! I stayed in my calorie range completely with no fudging! I'm off to a roaring start, let's hope I keep this momentum going!
