Feeling great

Tuesday, September 04, 2012

So I don't know about everyone else but I very much enjoyed the long weekend, and yes I even managed to keep my work out schedule the whole weekend and even on Monday! I was very surprised I managed to go Monday, it was a little hard to not be lazy all day but then I remembered that lazy is not the new me. I will be taking a work out break today thought, my body tells me that it needs some recovery time so I figure its best to listen to my body than to hurt myself.

I met a small personal goal on Saturday at the gym..I managed 2.2 miles in 30 minuets on the elliptical! Wooooooo whoooooooooo! I honestly can't remember a time I've done 2 miles so go me! emoticon

Well tomorrow will be back to the gym and its weigh in day....lets hope for some good numbers. But I know as long as its a pound I'm doing ok. I already can feel the effects of working out at least 5 times a week. It's an amazing feeling!

Good Luck all! You CAN Do it!!! emoticon

Its amazing how..

Friday, August 31, 2012

Its amazing how once you start really watching what you eat and how many calories you can have really changes your way of thinking. Now that I actually document everything I eat I can truly understand and watch what I'm putting into my body.
I've come to realize that eating/drink healthy really is just a mind game that you have to take control of. I can honestly say that I have not had a soda in almost 2 weeks! Can you believe that and surprisingly it's not nearly as hard as I thought. Instead of telling myself I can't have have it, I tell myself you don't want to put that in your body, come on now we are working way to hard for one soda to mess this up! And it works! I drink water and to give my mouth something yummy to have I use the crystal light packets for lunch. Amazing what a little brain retraining will do for you.

At this rate I should reach my goal in no time!
Chin up everyone you CAN do it! emoticon

Taking a new path in my life

Wednesday, August 29, 2012

Ok so I've never had a blog before so this is new to me, I do hope this will help me as well as anyone who may read these. Lets just jump right in shall we?

So last week (Monday) I started down this new path in life, lets call it my own personal "yellow brick road". I started exercising 6 days a week at the YMCA and cutting out soda from my diet 100%, so far that so good. Well that is the easy part, now on to whats problems we have when trying to change our lifestyle.
I work 5 days a week 8-5 so as you can guess by the time I finally make it to the gym its 7:30pm hungry as hell. I figure 'hey i'll just have a string cheese be ok then come home and make dinner' (I live with a roommate who is working out with me). Well by the time I'm finished and I'm on my way home I'm tired and really don't want to cook anything. Plus they have made it so much cheaper to by fast food than to make a good and healthy home cooked meal. Well this week I figured I would give eating before the gym a shot, make a quick lite meal, digest then hit the gym. It seems to be working pretty well for now but I've only been doing it for 2 days so far. Not eating fast food I know is going to be a challenge for the time being, until I'm able to make a habit out of eating good food.
Now for my next goal I would like to find a good diet/cook book that would be easy to cook after work AND taste good AND healthy. So if any one reads this and knows of a cook book that would help PLEASE HELP.

Thank you to anyone who read, and no matter who you are or what you do just know that you CAN do this. Its just a matter of finding the right tools to get you where you want to be.

Another great option isw to plan some make ahead meals to cook on the weekends. Grill some chicken breasts, roast some veggies and you'll have quick foods to heat up when you get home.

There is a tab at the top of your page called Healthy Lifestyle. Under it is a link to Spark Recipes. You can also copy and paste:

Spark People also has a cookbook!
