Workout after 12 hour shift

Surgery was 8 weeks ago. Seems like so much longer, but I will say I was SO excited to start working out again. It felt AMAZING!

My first workout plans were walks and small workouts. then I started beachbody 10 minute workouts. I loveeee them! So when I started my 12 hour shifts again this week in the NICU, I wasn't sure what I would do.

Well Monday, after my first shift, I did do a workout. Today, I decided for an early bedtime. My body was telling me it was time for sleep. I am glad I listened!

Cooking with cast iron

After having surgery for kidney cancer, I was trying to get my life in order. I realized that since the kidneys filter EVERYTHING and are affected the environment/pollutions around you, I knew I needed to make a lot of changes.

The first change was getting cast iron in the house! And they are amazing and not much more than regular pots and pans!

Have you used cast iron before?

Commercial workout +T25

Hi everyone! I have been gone for awhile from here, but I just wanted to share a new SHORT workout. I am talking, you just do it during the commercials!

We all watch tv. Have our favorite shows. But sometimes we say, "I don't have time to workout". Well we have time to watch 10 episodes of How I Met Your Mother, so we have time, we just need to MAKE time.

When you hit a bump in the road

The past week has been a bit rough. I am still recovering after surgery where they removed the kidney tumor. I was dealing with a pinched nerve in my neck, and the GI bug at the same time.
I talk a little about it here

Today, I am feeling alittle better. I just wish I could get around without pain in my arm or back. Luckily, the GI bug is almost gone, and my appetites is almost back to normal :)

Just ready for normal to be back.

    This past winter my son ended up in the hospital for a few days and then a week after that my daughter was rushed to the hospital with an emergency fake appendectomy and a month later she went in for open heart surgery. I think the only thing that you can do is get back on track as soon possible and keep plugging along eating as healthy as possible. It was really hard to eat healthy during my total of 2.5 weeks in the hospital with the kids and it always feels so much harder to get back on track when you are derailed. Good job for sticking in the game with so much going on! Best wishes on your journey.
