Finding Time

Wednesday, April 17, 2013

How do people find time to exercise? I actually enjoy exercising, and I enjoy reading. But I don
t seem to have enough time to do either of things regularly. Yeah, I know it's a matter of priorization and scheduling, but somehow it just doesn't always work out right. Yeah, I know, get up 15 minutes earlier ... when you only got 4 hrs of sleep that's easier said then done.

However, I will not give up! Through persistence I still get little workouts into my day. It may not be as much or as often as I wanted, but it is happening. And if I keep working at it, I know I'll find a way to fit more/longer workouts in. And meanwhile, I'm slowly getting stronger & more flexable

If you consistently get in the little workouts, you'll make big progress. :-) You may also be able to squeeze in more than one little workout in a day. Which adds up even faster....

Small Improvements

Monday, April 15, 2013

I have lost a few pounds in the past few weeks in spite of a diet-challenging vacation. My clotes are fitting better and I'm feeling better about myself because I'm taking care of myself.

I ran an 8k -- well, "run" is probably an exaggeration. I really Wogged it. But the important thing is that I did it in a respectable time considering I haven't been running. My boyfriend didn't think that I could do it and I even came home with a medal. It helped that there were a lot of medals to give out and it was not a very competitve race.

It's time to come back!

Monday, January 24, 2011

I've been gone far too long ... Funny how I let things get in the way of taking care of myself! This week I'll return to SP. However, I'll start logging my food tomorrow. But since I have a much needed dentist apointment tomorrow, my eating won't be quite normal.

It's amazing how much of a difference SP makes -- it makes me more aware of my eating and exercise goals and more likely to follow through on my promises to myself. Now, why do I need a website to remind me to keep my promises to myself? They should be the most important ones.

Welcome back... I too returned to SP. The support here is amazing and it helps you to keep at it.

The food tracker is the best thing for me - makes me honest about what is going in my mouth - doesn't let me fool myself.

If I stay off this website for more than 2 days I feel like I'm going through withdrawal. I love my blogs, articles, nutrition chart, etc.
I've been on here for a little over a year and everyday I find something new.

I've proven the theory that lack of sleep can cause weight gain

Monday, December 13, 2010

I don't know why, but I could not sleep last night. I tossed and turned and finally got up and roamed around the house for a while. While I was roaming, I had a few chocolate kisses ... When I was little a kiss always helped me sleep. Oh, that was a different kind of kiss (the calorie-free kind)..

Finally, after midnight, I laid down and dozed off and on. The alarm went off at 5am and my day started.

Once I got home I was too tired to exercise (plus I had a long list of things to do) and then i indulged in animal cookies. Now I have a tummy ache. I think I was snacking because I'm sleepy.

So I ate things I didn't need and didn't exercise as I needed to. I've just proved another theory; I can check that one off my list! Maybe tomorrow I'll prove the theory that exercise can help you to lose weight ...

Kitty terrors

Saturday, December 11, 2010

This week, my little black kitty (Jessie) managed to get stuck behind the entertainment center. I was in the kitchen making dinner and I heard in the front room, screaming. Somehow she found a way to get behind teh entertainment center and could not figure out how to get out! She was thrashing about amongst a tangle of cables trying to squeeze through a 2 inch gap between the center and the wall. We had to pull the TV out from the center and the reach through the cables, grab her tail (it was the handies thing) and pull her out. She was screaming the whole time, but we did rescue her. It took a while for her to regain her dignity, but she did eventually settle down. And I think she forgave us for pulling her tail.

Life is never dull at our house! emoticon
