Day 16/100 - 10 daily activity minutes and growing

Monday, February 13, 2012

Between my challenge exercises (pushups and pull ups) and my rehab exercises for my back (pelvis lifts and the like), I now total 10 activity minutes a day.

Pretty weak for somebody whose general goal is to hit 1000 minutes a month, but I do what I can. I'm still aiming for at least 500, so I can keep my 25-month streak alive.

Struggling with water today. Didn't drink any during the day today. So when I came home tonight I still had 40 oz. left to go. Still working on the last 20, but it will get done.

Chiropractor tomorrow. Maybe he'll be able to snap me back into place.

emoticon on not giving up and for doing what you can. The 10-minutes a day is getting to be routine, soon maybe that can be increased to 15 then 20 and then a bazillion! -- Lou

Day 15/100 - Goodbye Weekend

Sunday, February 12, 2012

Here it is Sunday night again; on the threshold of another busy week.

I'm on track with my challenges, just finishing up the last of my water.
Tired, nothing in my brain tonight.

“Life is an opportunity, benefit from it.
Life is beauty, admire it.
Life is a dream, realize it.
Life is a challenge, meet it.
Life is a duty, complete it.
Life is a game, play it.
Life is a promise, fulfill it.
Life is sorrow, overcome it.
Life is a song, sing it.
Life is a struggle, accept it.
Life is a tragedy, confront it.
Life is an adventure, dare it.
Life is luck, make it.
Life is too precious, do not destroy it.
Life is life, fight for it.”
― Mother Teresa

Day 14/100 - Listening to my PT

Sunday, February 12, 2012

Unfortunately that's physical therapist, not personal trainer.

Pelvic lifts is what he prescribed, and you bet I'm doing them. Really helps alleviate the pain. It's temporary, but I take it.

Since my injured area does not seem affected when doing pushups and pull ups, I am continuing those.

Water went well today, that's a 14-day streak so far :)

I just read a Sparkfriend's '900 days on Spark' blog and that made me curious how many days I've been on SP, so I counted. Today is day 1805! Wow, that's a big number :) Coming up on 5 years.

Made some great friends, learned a lot.

A physiotherapist has more education on the body than a trainer they can go in and prescribe exercises a trainer can not..
The doctor repairs stuff the physiotherapists take over and do the actual grind work to rehab people.. Trainers don't have the education to work with doctors or ask for files to patients to see what the doctor has done..

My 100 Day Challenge Day 13 and More Talk about My Back

Saturday, February 11, 2012

Today's diagnosis went from possible strained muscle to possible injury of the sacroiliac joint. Different doc. Neither doc could pinpoint the exact center of my pain.

Now adding physical therapy twice weekly to my already impossible schedule. Well, I'm hoping it will bring relief.

Contemplating to see my chiropractor next week and have him do his magic. Sure it can't hurt. Maybe this should have been my first course of action?

As far as my challenge is concerned, for the time being I'm going to drop the jacks, but will do my therapy exercises instead. I will however continue with pushups and pull ups - 13 of each today. Pushups still fairly easy, pull ups not so much.

Still tracking my food as well.

Extremely glad that the weekend it here. It's been a long week.

My 100 Day Challenge: Day 12

Friday, February 10, 2012

Ahh, working overtime is so much fun... especially when you're not getting paid for it... Still fighting with the new computer at work. I'm guessing that the entire month of February will be extremely busy (and frustrating). Good thing I'm not a stress eater! I can only imagine doing the first month-end close-out, flying blind.

Today's challenge:
Water - done
Fun exercises - done
No TV - good
Food tracking - YES!

Tomorrow morning is my appointment with the physical therapist. I'm very curious to find out what he has to say.

Later, all!
