Yes finally, after 2 weeks of being sick and really down and out, things are starting to look up. I am on antibiotics for a sinus infection but I was able to do the bootcamp cardio today. During the past 2 weeks my cardio has really suffered. Actually last week I couldn't do any as I was suffering from a nasty cough and other cold-related ailments.
I did however all of the bootcamp strength videos and I'm totally up to date with bootcamp. This is now going into week 4 now and I'm looking forward to finishing this challenge.
Well, it's still fairly early in the day - I'm going shopping (to Costco - haha...)

... for my cold/flu that's been lasting for 2 weeks now. Well, just as I thought, it was a cold turned sinus infection and my body was unable to fend that off. Well, after an antibiotics shot I'm already starting to feel a little bit better. Also, my head finally stopped hurting. Yeah, there is hope yet.
I'm sure I can start going back to the gym come Monday and I'm looking forward to that.
I have been keeping up with my bootcamp exercises every day, but of course that alone won't do the trick.
Oh, as an added "bonus" I found out that I have arthritis in my neck... wonderful! I'll deal with that when my head gets clear again. Also I have a muscle spasm in my left shoulder that wouldn't release. So I got another shot for that.
So, after spending over 200 Dollars for medicine I'm happy to report that I'm still alive. Actually, had I been more alive when I filled my prescriptions I would have been a bit more selective and maybe wouldn't have filled all of them, but I was feeling so miserable I really didn't care all that much.
It's early to bed for me tonight. (I brought home some awesome muscle relaxers... hehehe...)
I'm really hoping that I can sleep off some of this mess tonight and wake up feeling much better in the morning.
Be well, everyone!

Okay, so I've got the flu. Started Monday and by Tuesday I was flat on my back, couldn't move. Wednesday was a little better and of course today I had to go back to work. Two days out is almost impossible here in the U.S. - unbelievable but true. So now my body aches less but I lost my voice and my throat is sore. And yet, against all warnings, you'll find me at work tomorrow. I'm the only breadwinner in this family and can't afford to jeopardize my job in any way. Glad it's Friday tomorrow and then I'll have the weekend to hopefully recover some more. Sometimes I really feel trapped in the endless rat race.
Of course my cardio fell short this week as my lung capacity is diminished due to my cough.
I did however do the boot camp video every day. Hey, nobody yell! It is my goal to finish this boot camp and finish this boot camp I will. You can sweep me off the floor come January 31.
Okay, I will rest now. I'm sure it'll do me good.
Goodnight Spark Friends.

... when they called it bootcamp! Now I believe it! I've been focusing on aerobics for years. Couple of crunches here, couple of lunges there, but no consistent strength training. So I was coasting through the day 1 aerobics workout, then as the week progressed was amazed what a good workout a ball can give you but today's workout just took the cake! Great! Super! Amazing! (Okay, I'm pooped...) I will definitely continue the bookcamp through week 2 (and am very much looking forward to tomorrow's aerobic workout... :-))
Bootcamp week 1

I'm not naming this blog 'bootcamp day 5' even though I did my video and 30 minutes of cardio plus various stretches, crunches, push-ups and such.
This afternoon I went to my first ever acupuncture appointment. It really was the highlight of my day and I can't stop talking about it. Reason for me finally deciding to let someone needle me ;-) was the fact that I have been in quite a bit of pain for weeks now.
Sometime before Christmas I woke up with a 'crick in my neck', stiff shoulders and an achy back. Oh well, I thought, it will pass... but it did not. So I went to see my chiropractor; this usually does the trick. But not so this time. After four visits to my chiropractor without any results I decided that it was time to try another treatment.
Since I'll try anything before I visit an MD, I decided I should give acupuncture a try. And boy, am I ever amazed! Even though my neck is still tight and so are my shoulders and my back, there is no pain right now! GONE!
After weeks of being in pain this is such a weird feeling. I'm very weary and am worried I'll make one wrong move and the pain will be back. Well, I'm taking it an hour at a time right now; will see what the situation is in the morning.
I will go back for another treatment next week and am very hopeful that this is the answer to my problem.
Time to sign off, I'm determined to catch the second hour of NCIS tonight. Was still at the gym during the first half of the first hour, so I thought I'll finish my blog before the top of the hour.
Good night all.
