Tonight I don't feel like writing, so this will be really short.
On track today with both, food and exercise (did my 60 minutes).

My 50-Day-Challenge: Days 41, 42 & 43 (Friday thru Sunday)

Yes, I'm still here.

My challenging overtime day at work. And this one was crazier than I've seen them in a long time. Made it though work okay. Then caught a late night movie with my daugher. We stopped at Rubio's after the movie and that's when things started going wrong a bit. Love Mexican food!
Also, there is no exercise scheduled for Friday, so Friday was kind of a doozy but not in a good way.

I had stepped on the scale on Friday morning and showed a loss of 2.6 lbs since my last weigh-in on June 1. Even though it proves faulty thinking, I am convinced that this little success had something to do with my being careless with my food that day. That is exactly why I do not weigh in frequently. My program is proven to work, so as long as I'm on program there really is no need for frequent weigh-ins. Might sound incomprehensible for some, but I have to work within my limits and the scale still throws me for a loop every time. Freaky little device.

The objective right now is to get to goal. Once this has been accomplished I'll see if I can make peace with the scale :)

I went to the gym first thing in the morning. Considering that I am NOT a morning person, that was quite an accomplishment.
I hear people who routinely do morning workouts say how it engerizes them for the day. Well, I don't know, I for one needed to take a nap :)
Food was on track.
So for Saturday I can give myself two 'goals met'. emoticon emoticon

No exercise scheduled for today so I went shopping :)

Well, that makes two out of three for this weekend. I'm not complaining. However, I'm glad that tomorrow will start my weekday routing again, which includes a 60 minute workout every night Monday thru Thursday. This is the routine a feel safest with.

    You are rockin' your 50 day challenge! Congratulations. I hope that you do reach a point where you make peace with the scale. Plus, the scale shows only a bit of what it takes to be healthy.

    Kat, I agree. But I guess a lot of this is psychological and emotional, so whatever works. I chose to desensitize myself from the readings. If you do it every day, draw a trend line, it becomes just another point on the graph. Admittedly, it's hard to get to this point. I'm the pain in the ass she's referring to :)

    So, you punished yourself by going off program on Friday because the scale? That makes no sense kiddo. LOL

You are worth the effort to make good decisions for your health and well-being. Staying away from going out to eat may be something you need to do. The amount of chemicals, fat, sodium in restaurant food will kill you.

My 50-Day-Challenge: Day 40

What do you do when you have already used up more than half of your daily calorie allowance by 10:00 am?

Ya, that was me today. Let's just say I had a really big breakfast.
To make up for that lunch consisted of a can of V8 vegetable juice and a peach. What can I say?

But it saved me and I did stay within my calorie range today.

Exercise: 60 minutes emoticon

On exercise: I was thinking tonight during my workout that I am the perfect example to show that you won't lose weight just by exercising. It always has to be combined with sensible eating and yes, calorie counting.

While being extremely active as a kid and teen, I took my 20s and most of my 30 off from exercise and I had much to show for it. (Way too much :)) Got back into it about 8 years ago and while it helped me lose some weight, I have never made it to goal. Yes, correct, not in 8 years.

While exercise is definitely good for body and soul, it can't stand alone and it cannot make up for bad eating.

Now that exactly is the purpose of this here challenge (wow, there really is a way to use that phrase! But I digress).

Since I won't weigh in but once a month (or so), I'm looking for other 'signs' that this is in fact working. I've noticed that my pants are much loser (sorry, ESL, lose and loose totally evade me). It's summer and ALL of my pants fit, even the ones I couldn't wear last summer. Love it!

I'm expecting the last few pounds to be a slow process, but I'm feeling confident I'll get there this time. You might see the day when I admit to a slip up, but you won't see the day I'll report a failure.

    Well Kricket, I can totally relate to your eating a large amount of calories today. DH and I are watching GD and we have NEVER been to a sonic before(she has). When we got back and I logged my lunch in boy what a shock--didn't think supper was in the eating, but I stir fried chicken breast and veggies and ended up midway in my ranges, but usually try to stay on the low side(that's what as a diabetic was told would be best to lose weight along with exercise ).
You have been doing a great job with this 50 day challenge my friend, your doing yourself proud. Keep up the excellant work, and remember, some days are easier than others.

    That is wonderful!!! I really am impressed with your ability to stay within your calorie range when you've had a bunch by 10 AM. That is truly amazing! And congrats - can you believe that you are on day 40?

    OK, peanut gallery in full effect this morning. The scale aversion just cracks me up. You're looking for other ways when all you have to do is step on the scale. LOL! I know, I know. We'll figure out a way to desensitize you yet and you'll be posting your physicsdiet profile so that we can stalk you. :)

So for spelling tricky words, or remembering anything for that matter, some sort of association always helps. A wise man once told me. Remeber, loosen = not tight, loser = you. Now, he meant that in a demeaning way, of course, but I think given the context of this website, that's actually a compliment! Everyone here wants to be a loser, not a looser! emoticon

    This is my first time really combining diet changes and exercise. In the past I've only done one or the other. Most recently lots of exercise but no real nutrition changes. I've finally realized I need to do both.

If you can tell you're losing in the way your clothes fit, you're making real progress! Fantastic! :)

Unable to log onto SP last night. That is the cases around 23:30 often. Maybe that's their time to do maintenance. So this is my post for yesterday, Tuesday.

And, ironically, I have nothing major to report.

I had lots of energy yesterday which was great for my cardio class.
Also, I had to cut my dinner down last minute, since I decided to have an unplanned snack after work. Still worked out within calorie range.
