The good and the bad

Well, here we are at the end of the year. I have had ups and downs.

The down: I haven't lost any weight since Thanksgiving, but I only gained one pound and I guess I should be happy with that. I have tried to be good, but so many yummy traditions got in my way, also had sinus problems (unusual for me) and headaches, so many days I didn't exercise like I should.

The GOOD: I got a Spark Tracker as a Christmas gift and I'm enjoying letting it take care of the counting. I also completed all my exercise minutes to meet my yearly goal today. 2 whole days before the end of the year, lol, but I made it. I walked 1 1/2 miles today, thank you Food Lion for allowing me to power walk the store a couple of times before starting to shop for food.

Woke up this morning with pounding headache, I think it sinus, but had terrible stomach pains yesterday evening. Please, please don't let me be coming down with some kind of bug, way too much to do right now.

Happy Thanksgiving

Yeah!! The holiday most known for overeating has come and gone. I have to say I'm pretty proud of myself, I did not over indulge this year. I have kind of been dreading one of my favorite holidays because I didn't want to see the scale creep back up again. My daughters have decided to eat healthier too, so we planned and tweaked our feast. We still had many of our favorites but didn't cook quite so much and yes there was a slice of pumpkin pie to finish off the meal.
I am learning that I can still enjoy life and continue on my quest to a better, healthier body.
I wish everyone a successful new month now that December is upon us.

Gosh time seems to be moving so quickly lately, hard to stop and write what's happening. I got super energerized on Sunday with some of the November challenges and decided to test myself out. Well, wore myself out was more like it. I haven't done much physically in several years due to illnesses, but by golly I was gonna get 'er done. I walked quickly throughout my house for 15 mins., did modified pushups and squats, upper body cardio and stretching. Guess who couldn't get out of bed on Monday? Yep, that would have been me. So, I spent 2 days trying to get my muscles not to cry when I moved. Wednesday was better and my daughter and I shopped for over an hour so that was lots of moving. Today I got busy on some much needed cleaning - kitchen cabinets, they are chocolate brown and show every smudge, scoured the master bath and did two loads of laundry plus folding. I think I accomplished quite a bit.
It seems this kind of exercise I can do, jumping up and down and actual exercise just seems to hurt. So I'm going to make a chore list for each day that involves 30 mins or cleaning something that entails bending, stretching, twisting and movement until I get myself in shape to exercise to get in shape....
I hope every one is hard at work making themselves into the person they want to be.

I have been out of town for 10 days and really didn't follow or visit Sparks much. I still was very aware of what I was eating, but you can't always have control when out of your environment. So needless to say I was really worried to weigh myself.
All I can say is

WHEW! I managed to lose 2 pounds!! Was so dreading seeing the scale creep back up.

    Thanks friends! I was amazed that I had lost, now to get back into the program with exercise and determination.
