I've been a little M.I.A. lately. I guess I needed more time to clear my head. I even thought about abandoning this site....but darn.....I would miss you guys. You always pick me up when I need it....you listen to my rants....celebrate my successes....and consoled me through my heartaches and failures.

How could I give that up.....plus....I love sharing in your lives and all you have going on. This is a very special site. Everyone has such great ideas and tips to share.

I did abandon a couple of challenges this month, sorry, but it was what I had to do. I've been trying out a few more sparkpeople recipes. We had a great chicken enchilada casserole. We liked it but I think I will tweak it a little the next time I make it.

I had my granddaughter today. She is three and just HAD to go for a walk. It was so hot and humid but we walked about a mile. I kept telling myself it was good for me. Aubrey just loves to be outside. I am waiting for things to cool off a little more.

I hope to spend some time tomorrow catching up with everyone tomorrow......I've missed all of you. Have a great day!

I've written quite a few blogs and deleted every one of them. They all seemed to focus on my job or lack there of. So until I find something I can do at home or find a job, or win the lottery....oops you have to play to win...don't you....bummer, I will make every attempt to focus on my health. And if a lack of job frustration leaks in....I hope you'll forgive me.

My dear hubby has really been enjoying having me home. We have a great 50/50 relationship....we get groceries together......we cook together....we clean up together. Well, since he is the sole bread winner in the family, I have taken over the food detail. We tend to be creatures of habit, so our variety of meals has been very weak.

So I've been trying to find new things....things that taste great, are healthy, and don't take long to make. Last night I made BBQ chicken sandwiches. I have never in my life boiled chicken. And while it looks gross, it sure makes great, tender meat. So I learned something new. And that is what it's all about...isn't it.



I'm going to look for some great crock pot recipes this week. I love that in the winter time. Spark people recipes really make it easy and fun. So I guess this is good that I have this time to do this.



On an exciting note, I am the President of our local Society of Human Resource Management group, and I had to let the National organization know that I was without a job. I got a call from them yesterday and they asked me to be on a judging panel to give away scholarships for people looking for assistance with certification and education. It isn't a paying job, but it is a way to network with others in my field and is a real feather in my cap. So I am really excited about the opportunity.

It takes awhile to grieve......even for a job that you had for 14 years. And to not even understand why you lost it.....makes it that much harder. Your mind goes through it over and over......evaluates it from every angle.



It's been tough, but I have kept my positive attitude....well....most of the time. Like today...my DH was telling me about his frustrations for the week and it just got to be too much for me and the water works started flowing....poor guy.....I'm sure he's thinking...hey! When is it my turn?



I'm definitely getting better. I have started the hunt for a new job, but there isn't much out there right now. So I am pouring myself into cleaning....my volunteer responsibilities and helping DH in his office.



You know....it's been weird....I really thought I was going to have trouble. I have such a hard time being left alone at home and eating everything in sight! But I haven't been doing that. Hmmm....makes me wonder how much of my problem was that lousy, crappy job(part of my internal therapy to bad mouth the job--bear with me please!)

It has been two weeks now and I want to make sure that I don't fall into any bad habits. So tomorrow I will get up at a specific time.....exercise.....shower....eat breakfast...and then go into DH's office and hunt for job opportunities. Then I will follow up on what I may find.....and then work on the hubby's books for awhile. I think being on a schedule will really help me from focusing on the bad and help me to feel productive.



My friend...Dee reminded me about a blog I wrote awhile ago about "What is going to be different today?" Well this is it.....I am writing a new chapter in my life....and it's going to be NEW and IMPROVED.....exciting and fun.

Yes, I got a surprise yesterday. After fifteen years, I was told they wanted to take the company in a different direction and that it didn't include me. They said it didn't reflect on me.....right. I have my own theories about it but oh well. What's done is done. I am taking the rest of this week to decompress and then I will make plans to find employment next week.

The big question is whether or not to stay in my chosen field. I feel a little like making a big change. Who knows.

Thank you so much for the spark goodies and nice comments. It means more than I can say. The tears are flowing so easily.

On the bright side, little Noah was born Monday night and he is perfect. He is my 6th grandchild and I am so grateful for him. Maybe this means I am meant to spend some time with them.

This will not beat me....I will come out on top....screw them.
