Boston Terrier!

Monday, August 02, 2010

Well I did it, I manage to make up the Boston Terrier and here it is:

All that is missing are the eyes which I need to buy on put on.

This is just a proto type because I will be making some changes on it. I need to place the ear correctly and try to make to dog taller. This one is only 18cm tall.

I also had a great day today. I got up excited to start this new month off well.

I did a 10 minute walk with Leslie Sanson for a warmup, then it was Day 1 of Sparks Bootcamp video as well as Day 10 Video both good workouts. I did one set of 30 Jumping Jacks and 2 minutes if skipping and back to another 10 minute walking to cool down and do my stretching. I felt so good afterwards.

I then made a healthy breakfast of Raisin Bran Cereal and Coffee and a water.

Sparked for awhile to catch up and log in my food and exercises on the tracker for the day. Read blogs and commented on them. Read articles and postings.

Then it was working on my Boston Terrier for a hour, then I would get up and walk around, check for messages which were many today and back to crocheting until dinner.

Lunch was PB and Jelly Sandwich and Vitamin Water and raisins.

Snack was water and carrots

Dinner was a 4oz round steak marinated in garlic, no-salt, black peppercorns, and steak spice. Put on an non stick pan with a little spray of oil and pan fry the steak to medium well with that I had cauliflower, carrots, broccoli and mushrooms sautéed in the juices of the steak. The dinner was so good and filling.

My last snack for tonight is nothing but water, I am not hungry or craving anything.

So if I wasn't so tired I would be doing my pilates routine. I might just do that in bed as my relaxation routine.

So today the first of August has been sparkling. I hope you all had a terrific day for those who are sick, injured or otherwise down I wish you well and I hope you feel better tomorrow.

Now I am going to start again on another Boston Terrier, now that I have the pattern figured out.

See you all in the morning. I love you all and you all mean so much to me. Take care and have a restful night.

Hi Sandra. Your Boston Terrier turned out so cute. You are very talented.
Have you ever tried making a daschund (wiener dog). I made one out of fur. It turned out real cute.

    Hi Sandra,
I just read the blog and showed my son the Boston Terrier. He LOVES it! Great work. Remember Boston Terriers mainly have brown eyes. I knew you'd come up with something wonderful. I will be in touch to figure out the ordering since my son will most definitely want this to add to his Boston Terrier collection.

Last Day of the Month!

Sunday, August 01, 2010

Well it is here the last day of the Month and my review.
The month started out well I was still at my goal weight and working on healing my ulcer which I did successfully. I will always have it and it does flare up once in awhile when I over do the spices or worry to much.

I join the Sparks official stress team and I am on my last week with them. I have learnt a lot about dealing with stress and over coming them. I learn what and who my stressor are. Getting a job and my mom. The two biggest things. I am learning how to deal with my mom and making sure my brother is around when we see her. He know how to handle her and to keep my from yelling at her and hurting her feelings.

As for the job. I need to get one ASAP, funds are getting low but not low enough for me to freak out yet. My knitting orders are helping but I need more.

I have sold a few items, made some really cool things such as baby cowboy boot(profile), my sockmonkey cowboy and girls, a cute little mouse and a bunny, two teddy bears and many dishcloths. So I have been really busy in that area and I feel so good about my accomplishments and my earnings.

I have kept up with my stepping and doing a ten minute bootcamp everyday but I have slack off in some of my QFC challenges and my DVD workouts. I haven't rode my bike that much this month instead I have been sitting more and knitting more.

Last month You would have found me on my bike knitting as I peddle so what as happened? I got lax and lazy. My mind was not in it.

So I decided to get out the scale and do a weigh in this morning and I was right my weight is up again to 128.5. I have been doing so well with my maintenance so why have I sabotage myself now when it is summer? I was starting to feel depressed again so I allowed myself to be the victim again. It is something that I need to work on. I am always playing the injured or the victim and I am sick of it. It is time to get a grip and deal with it once and for all. I am not a victim and I will be victorious in this.

I need to refocus and be more positive and active. I will do this. There is no more trying or I can't anymore. I am putting my heart, body and mind into this.

So my goals for the month of August is:
1) get in 30 minutes of cardio everyday
2) 30 minutes of strength training every other day
3) stick to eating whole foods and no junk
4) limit my coffee to two cups per day and 8 to 10 glasses of fruit water everyday.
5)Do 30 minutes of housework everyday including bedroom and my knitting area. Wool runnest over.
6) Be kind to my self and take 30 minutes of relaxation at night
7)Focus on getting that perfect job
8) Finish setting up
9) finish setting up ETSY
10)Spark, log, post and visit with my friends.

Now on to more photos

Suzymarc here is my turtle you were asking about:

and here is my SailorBoy but without the bib. I am still working on it.

A dog that I had made up last year for a customer

Oh and I found a pattern for a Boston Terrier but the pattern for it didn't print but I now have a better idea on making one up. All it takes is the right picture and my mind starts to design it.

I will start on it tomorrow when all my goals are met first. It shouldn't take too long to make it up. The only things is that I had run out of polyfill for the stuffing so I have to wait until John has a day off on Tuesday to go and buy some. I should have it finished by then. So having no stuffing is not a problem right this minute.

There have been some other great things that have happened this month that I am greatful for. One being my Step dad doing so well, he might be going back to work next month if his heart surgeon allows it. My sister and I are talking now but it is still awkard and strained.

My brother had been so sweet and supportive, last night he told me that he will pay more for the food and rent as long as I keep the apartment clean and do all the cooking for us. I agreed as long as he still takes out the garbage and looks after the fish tanks. He agreed.

That is a major relief and now I can focus on the things that I need to do with out the added worry about finances.

I am going to put a good foot forward for next month and make it a great one. I will make these goal happen. I will stay strong, get healthier and fitter. I will get a great job. I will get more knitting orders and I will be alright.

Well it is time for me to leave you all tonight. I have dishes in the sink that needs attending too and a movie that is calling my name before I go to sleep.

Lets all do the best we can do to make August the most sucessful. WE CAN DO THIS!

Enjoy your night and have a great Sunday.

After reading your blog I stepped on the scales myself - I'm up 2 pounds. In the past I would have freaked out over that but, MALEXANDER4 is right. Normal weight fluctuates a bit (could even be fluid), and for me summer is always hard. We have so much company and our visitors all tend to bring some kind of food or drink - their special meal, their favourite wine etc. - to share. That's what good guests do and I would feel really rude if I refused to eat/drink their 'gifts'. I also get less exercise when they're around, although I do try to talk them into going for walks whenever I can. So I'll watch portion size, get in as much exercise as I can, and enjoy the visits; summer will be over way too soon and I'll be back to the grind.

I finished this month off with a 4.6 pound loss. For me that is awesome. I stayed the same this week and being 10.6 from goal that kinda stunk but I think from here on it is going to be slow. I could only hope to finally be your weight. sandra 3 pounds is maintenance. your doing great. Focus on you and the rest will fall into place. emoticon

Here is the picture of the Sockmonkey that didn't get posted last night.

I managed to finish the Sailor Hat for it and the navy blue pants but the top is giving me some trouble. Trying to get the collar to lay flat and come in to a point at the front. I will solve this. I just needed to put it down and work on the dog that I am doing for a new order. This pattern as I said yesterday is a real challenge and I love this challenge.

So again I spent the whole day with my crocheting and my knitting, working on three different projects at a time and sparking.

I didn't even go onto the computer to look for a job. I gave myself a break today. I just couldn't deal with it but now I feel guilty about it. I should be looking everyday until I find one but there are time when taking a break is the best thing for you to do.

I need to hang in there and not give up, I just had a little slip up today. I will be back at it tomorrow.

I also got my 10,000 steps in today just made it.

Now I am off to bed. Have a good night. I will be in a better mood tomorrow. I am going to take myself to the park again, Enjoy the day of sunbathing, reading and listening to my new CDs. Can't wait to hear them. Then I will come back and clean my bedroom.

Have a great night. Thanks for your support today. Thank you for sharing your journey with me. Some of the blogs that I read today really helped me. Some needed my support and prayers for what they are going through in their lives. I have read some funny blogs the made me laugh. I saw some wonderful pictures and landscapes.

Good night all.

Thanks for being here for me today and cheering me up. You guys and gals are the best.

One good thing that happened today is that I manage to make up a healthy Chicken Parmesan and noodle dish. I used organic chicken breast, homemade tomato sauce, mushrooms, onions, celery and shallot's. I oven baked the chicken and put the tomato sauce over it with a tiny bit of Parmesan Cheese and baked it. I then made whole wheat noodles to go with it. It turned out really good and I saved a lot of calories and saved on the sodium.
The whole wheat noodles are healthier for you too!

I made sure I measured out all my foods today and ate within my range. I still have those 3 lbs to lose again.

Guess this is what maintenance is all about. Up one week, down for two months and then up again.

I am not to worried about these three pounds they will come off. I will up my exercising this week.

Hope you all have a great day tomorrow.

Again thanks for reading my blog and understanding me.

More Pictures of shoes!

Friday, July 30, 2010

I got up early this morning 8am and yes those ear plugs did work. In fact I was wearing them this morning while I was sparking. I had to have the windows open to get in the cool fresh air that was coming it. Boy did it feel so good to feel this coolness upon me. The air was fresh and clean smelling.

Had my coffee and cereal for breakfast while waiting for the computer to boot up. Thank goodness today it is faster. Got onto sparks and read all my friends blogs first, then I read all my articles to get those 9 points. I read some really good ones on motivation and exercising.
I logged and track all my foods for today and check to see what is needed for my exercises for today. I am letting Sparks design my workouts this week, just to change things up a bit.

Then I read all the postings and replied to them and I read my sparksmail and emails. I got another order today which is really great. I get to design a dog. I have no pattern for the type of dog that I am doing but I am taking this challenge on and designing it from scratch. I got the ears and legs done and now I am working on the face, having a bit of an issue here on how to do the muzzle. I will figure it out, it may take me a couple of tries but you all know me that I will get it figures out. The body of the dogs I can do, it is the colour changes that is tricky.

So I have been taking a break here and there doing other knitting jobs that needed to be finished. I did get them done and I have pictures as my title says.

Here they are:

A Pair of Hightops

A pair of Mary Jane's these are so cute and I think my favorite besides the cowboy boots.

and the last pair of runners, I need to put a strap across them still but didn't have time before my blog tonight.

I also finish one more Sockmonkey, I only had to piece them together and stuff and sew.
I might put hair on this one or I might leave it bald.

So there you go, you asked and I provided. Now I am off to bed.

Sparks is way to slow today!

Thursday, July 29, 2010

When I got up this morning at 7am, Yes I did get up this early and I was so proud of myself. I could have stay in bed, wished I did but the construction noises were to loud for me to ignore even with ear plugs. This window was open to get in some air as it was hot already in my bedroom.

Today they had the Jack Hammers going, trying to break down a huge concert wall and then collecting the concrete and rocks and dumping them in the big trucks. They got a bit of it down and will continue again tomorrow. I got some new earplugs to try tomorrow.

I had a cheesy breakfast of cheese whiz on white bread and coffee. I know, I know don't even tell me how bad that is for me but that was all we had in our kitchen for food. I didn't feel like raisin bran cereal with water. Yuck!

I then got onto Sparks which took forever to load up. It took ten minutes for my page to come up so that I can log on. It took me three tries to log on. Sparks says I don't have an account or my password was wrong. So I shut the system down and rebooted, maybe it is my computer acting up again. Still took awhile to load up and log in.

After two hours of fighting this I gave up by then John was awake to have his breakfast and we decided that since it is so hot in here we will go and do our laundry. It only took us one and a half hours to get it all done. emoticon and $15.00 later. Prices at the laundry mat went up because of the HST TAX that they hit us with. But hay that's government for yah! Won't go there. I don't do politics. Don't want to offend anyone.

So after that was done we came home and I hang up the damp stuff on the drying rack in the middle of my living room and all over my bedroom. It sure looks like a bomb of clothes went off. Oh what a mess for me to clean up tomorrow.

Actually it will be a great time to sort through my closet and dresser drawers and get ride of stuff that is old and big and the ones that I don't like anymore. May be them I can find my floor again. I have four pile of clothes on a rug on the floor in my bedroom because my closet is so tiny and I have no hanging room I even have to space hangers they do work but I still need twice the space for my clothes.

Once we did that and had lunch of PB and Grape Jelly and water we set off again. Today we went to the new Walmart store, the new Pets Smart store, Canadian Tire and Mark's Work Wear World store. Oh so nice a cool inside. We walked for a total of two hours and even picked up a few neseccities that we needed.

We finally got in some decent whole foods, milk, whole wheat bread, raisens, Vitamin Water and some new cds that were $500 each.

John bought Truck Drivin Classics, Country No.!s of the 70's,Kenny Rogers - for the good times, Elvis Presley - best of, Reba McEntire - The best of and Jaydee Bixby. THese were to replace some of the CD's that were stolen a couple of years ago when John's truck got stolen, My CD player and most of my CDs were in the truck. So as time goes by when every we see one of the CDs John buys them. We did eventually get the truck back, some kids took it for a joy ride and crashed it. Everything that was in the truck was stolen. Thank goodness for insurance but my stuff was not covered but John felt so bad about it that he is determined to replace all of my CDs. He doesn't have too.

So what I am doing now is I make copies of the cds and burn them onto one disk or two. The copies we then take with us. We also take less CDs with us because we can put more on a burned one. My BF told me that trick last year.

Sorry off topic, Now I am back.

After looking around these stores it was time to have dinner so I made John take us home and I popped in a pizza for us. I added fresh mushrooms, green and red peppers, onions and the rest of the summer sausage. It was so good and I made sure I had only enough to meet my calories for the day. I have just over 100 calories left on my plan for the day but I won't use them up.

After dinner I sat down to spark again but the computer was way too slow again So I decided to run maintenance on it and do some clean up and maybe it will speed up my computer. Nope. Sparks is just too slow tonight. I am guessing alot of people are on it today trying to catch up form their weekend.

So that is my day. I didn't let the slowness stress me out or make me mad I went with the flow and did something else.

I did however finish up a pair a baby high tops. Oh so cute. I will post a picture soon of all the boots and shoes that I have made. I am still working on the Sailor"s Uniformed Sockmonkey. I am having abit of trouble getting the neck line done correctly but you all know me by now I will get it figured out. I love the challenge of it.

Must sign off now, it is late and I need my sleep. I hope these ear plugs work.

Sorry for the long blog. Just needed to get it out.

I can sure relate to having a small closet. I also have clothes piles that need to be sorted (too big, not quite into yet and ones I'm not sure if I want to keep). My bedroom is the smallest with the smallest closet, but it's on the main floor and I wanted to put the boys upstairs. The youngest got the largest room with a wall-long built-in closet because he still has toys, games (board, video and hand-held) and loads of books.

Hope your computer speeds up today. Just in case it doesn't I'll send you some more fairy dust.

Don't be sorry for the long blog! I always like to read to know how you are doing. What a blessing to have your brother and your BF in your life. Now if the darn ole' constrution workers would just be done. Would love to see pictures of your baby high tops!

You are one busy gal! Sounds like you had a very productive day and got out of the noisy house and into cool stores. Hope you slept well with all that walking!!

Could be you're server to the computer, as I don't have any speed problems here in Santiago, but back in Australia I would at times. emoticon

Love the booties on you're profile.

You seem to be doing very well these days! Way to go!

I really, really, really need to sort through my closet. I still have tons of professional clothes that I will never wear again. I keep thinking I'll keep a few of my favourites (it would be silly, I think to get rid of them all because every now and then they will be useful) but donate the rest to a good cause. I've just got to do it!

Sounds like a busy day. Glad you were able not to stress over things and take them as they come.

My computer froze up yesterday while I was trying to post on another team and I had to reboot. I love your new cowboy booties profile icon.

I enjoy reading your blogs. I am glad you got to post. I haven't had PB&J in a while. I may have that for lunch.

Yes, I have times, I just walk away from the computer, before it stresses me out lol! You could purchase yourself a clothes rack for those extra clothes..make things a little easier...probably pick one up at Wal-Mart!
