Banana Island days 3-5

Monday, June 18, 2012

I had some very amazing couple of days, outside of my detox and crazy craving for everything salt related, this is going FANTASTIC! I am loving banana island. When cravings hit I have learned to remind myself that the whole reason I was doing this is to ditch the salt, so that helps me stay focused.

Day 3 banana island:
total kcal: 3002
water: 3L
I had much shorter day, because I slept more, so not many calories.. now that I think about it though, may be that's why I had such a bad cravings on that day?
did a lot of walking and dancing on this day

Day 4 banana island:
total kcal: 3677
water: 3.5L
Took little sis out for a walk and play, lots of walking again..

we had TONS of fun :)

Day 5 banana island:
total kcal: 3821
water: 3L
wasn't as active, rested in the morning and worked in the afternoon. Very slow and relaxing day.. needed that!

So today I am spending time with my mom and little sis again, we are going to do some grocery shopping, I have bananas for today and possibly tomorrow.. not sure if I should stop or keep going.. I guess I'll see what type of fruits we run into today. I feel great and really enjoying this.. I actually crave more bananas .. funny isn't it? I might just get more bananas and continue on for few more days ..

It sounds like your doing amazing! I do think the cravings come part from detox and part from not enough calories. Your doing fantastic. I really should jump aboard with you. I wonder if we have enough ripe bananas here.

Those pics of you and your sister are cute!

Banana Island day 2

Friday, June 15, 2012

emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Yesterday was a great day, I began to tap into that pure banana energy and was able to exercise for over an hour all together without a problem. I drank a total of 4L of water and then used about 0.5L in a banana smoothie, ate a total of 55 small bananas.

emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

In the evening I noticed white coating on my tongue, I almost forgot what it looks/feels like, but yes I am detoxing .. again.. YAY!!! Hopefully it's salt leaving my body. So I brushed teeth with baking soda and scraped my tongue before going to bed. I woke up this morning with a super stinky breath and more white coating. I also felt yesterday something that reminded me of a very mild headache, I haven't had those in forever, so I wasn't sure if it was weather related, because of the severe thunderstorms or because of detox. Like I said, I don't remember the last time I had a headache and this one was super mild, so I really didn't think much about it. But I have it again , very mildly, this morning, so I think it is part of detox.

emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

This morning I am down another 1.8lbs.. I don't know how this is possible, cause I eat more than ever before, but it seems to work..

emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Totals:
55 small bananas
4.5L water
Ccals: 3965
Carbs: 1015 (wow!)
weight released: 1.8lbs (almost 4lbs in 2 days)

That's an amazing loss from just two days. Clearly, you've been lugging around some serious toxicity, but I'm SO glad for you that everything is working itself out of your system, even if you do feel sort of crappy and have smelly mouth, lol.

Banana Island day 1

Thursday, June 14, 2012

So yesterday was banana island day 1 for me .. IT WAS AWESOME!
Banana Island ( or any Island diet for that matter) is when you chose 1 fruit and eat only that fruit for a couple of days. This is still 100% low fat raw vegan, of course, you just mono eat for few days. By doing this you give your digestion a little bit of a break, because it can easily process a single fruit meal. This is also done to eliminate any type of additives and go through smooth detox. Bananas are super fast digestive foods and this is in a way very similar to feasts and fasts. For me personally this is to completely remove salt and to kind of hit reset button. I have been mixing a lot of recipes lately and noticed that I didn't feel as good as when I just mono eat through the day. So this is why I am doing this banana island.. that and because I was blessed with couple of boxes of perfectly ripe bananas for a very low price..

So.. yesterday was a great day, with one minus- I didn't exercise, I took a rest day and watched lots of banana island and raw vegan educational videos. I worked for a bit, but overall I had a sort of not much energy day. I still have my TOM, so that might be a part of it and the day before I had huge salad with a whole avocado and some salt and that always makes me feel low energy the next day.

Through my day I ate 51 extra small bananas. About 10 bananas every couple of hours., I also drank over 3L of water. I didn't get tired of bananas or hungry at any point during the day. I even used some frozen nanas in food possessor and enjoyed some banana ice cream. Towards the evening, around 9pm, I didn't feel hungry, but ate about 4 bananas, cause I knew I was going to stay up another 2 hours and I didn't want to eat right before bed. That worked out great, I slept very good till about 8:30 and got up without a problem. It's a thunderstormy type of weather today and that doesn't seem to be effecting me much at all. I am definitely planning on at least 30 min of exercise once I get some bananas in me ;)

Here is what my all you can eat banana bar looks like today, just to give you an idea, exactly 51 banana ( the amount I ate yesterday) and a pencil, just to show how tiny these are.

and of course I still have over a box of bananas left. I am assuming this will be enough for a total of 6-7 days on banana island. I also have about 10 mangoes left in the refrigerator, so in case I get tired of bananas I can switch to mangoes for few meals. I don't really know how long I will be doing this for, taking it one day at the time.

So the total numbers for the day:
Total calorie: 3677
Carbs: 943
Ratio: 93/3/4
and.. surprise.. surprise.. down almost 2lbs sense yesterday morning..

I admire you. I like bananas, but not in the "I'll eat 51 bananas today" kind of way. emoticon
But maybe, one day, who knows. I know after my juice fast I'll be eating much more than I used to.
Thanks for all your inspiring blog posts.

personal 11 weeks challenge

Tuesday, June 12, 2012

We only have 11 weeks of summer left, so I am getting into a personal 11 weeks challenge. I just switched to part time on one of my jobs, so no longer do I get to use the excuse of being too busy.

Exercise: 5 times a week x 30min ( mostly jogging and training for 5k), with at least 1 day exercising outside on fresh air. I do have few days that I work from early am till almost midnight, so on the days I have free 30min, I will be jogging.

Food: completely remove salt from the house and my diet, I've been good at avoiding it, but having it in the house messes me up.. so removing it completely.. Starting off with a banana island ( just scored few boxes of bananas at $0.10/lbs) and then continuing as usual with low fat raw vegan., preferably not having overts more than 2 times a week.

Sleep: I haven't been able to sleep more than 6-7 hours lately, due to the schedule, and I have to try and get more sleep daily. So Lights out as soon as I finish my pm work.

Water: I have somehow slipped down to only 1L a day, so have to up this baby up to 2-3L a day again.. Specially with banana Island, have to try and drink at least 3L of water a day.

So here we go .. I do some of these already, but striving for a consistency here.

My beginning weight is : 195.5 ( yes I went up a bit, but my face and upper body keeps getting skinnier, so me thinking this is muscle or water (just got my TOM).. or may be I just need a good enema .. lol )

neck: 14.25
shoulders: 44
chest: 40.5
waist: 38.5
hips: 44.5
thighs: 23.5
calf: 15.5

SO I am finishing up the veggies and fruits I have in the house today and jumping into full on banana island tomorrow.. My main reason for banana island is to completely remove salt and overt fats for awhile, up my water and carb up for exercises.
Here we go .. my produce purchase, all of that for under $20 .. what a deal .. how can one not stay raw vegan with such an abundance?

This sounds like a wonderful challenge!

Make sure you eat lots of bananas on the island. I wasn't eating enough when I did it and didn't do such a great job.

Your exercise plan sounds great! Getting outside to do it will make you feel amazing!

I wish summer was much longer.

I did not realize 11 weeks and that is in line with my plan. I am one to eat well, and I am adding in one fast day per week, lots of exercise - already started that and rest. My goal is releasing meds. Best wishes and take care of yourself.
