So hard to be back at work today...

but so in need of routine! I definitely enjoyed the 4 day weekend, but now it's time to get back to business! The business being to lose this weight! My daughter and I are about the same weight now (which is causing her major angst!) but we both know that weighing in the 190's is not healthy for us, so we are bound and determined to get serious now and buckle down. It's probably the hardest time of the year to do this, but I just don't want to wait until after the holidays and risk weight gain.

  I love the challenge of the season. With my new 2 1/2 month pouch, I can't eat much at all. BUT the challenge is still there. emoticon

Burlesque

Well, I don't care what the critics say, the movie was good. Cher & Christina Aguilera were amazing. Their voices are so powerful. Oh, and now there are burlesque workouts online too. What a workout it would be!

Seriously considering abdominoplasty

I had gastric bypass in 2002 and have worked really HARD to lose weight, but my lower stomach really bothers me. I wear a size larger because of it, I get infections and moistness in the fold, and pretty much I'm just tired of it holding me back from being happy & healthy. I've told myself that I'll have the surgery done at 150 pounds, so you would think I'd be so motivated to get there, but it's just the opposite. If I want it that bad, I'd be focused on getting to 150, right?

    Maybe you should not just set a weigh goal, but a mental readiness goal and have the surgery if and when both are met. You can have the surgery anytime after you reach your weight goal.

Even if it seems a totally positive step in your lifestyle journey, it is still a serious procedure to which you have to subject your body. It would be more troublesome if you did not have any concerns about your abdomioplasty.

    You will get there! You definitely don't want to keep getting infections there.

If my plateau lasts any longer, I may have to erect a momument to it. I understand the desire to get to 150!!

Quiet day at home

We were so in need of a day to do nothing. We watched back seasons of Nip/Tuck, visited our neighbor and her granddogs and cooked. Ahhhh...I could get used to this vacation stuff.

Parade!!!

It was like something out of a movie...we're at the Philly parade wich was supposed to be rainy, but insted it starts snowing!!! Absolutely magical. Hope your Thanksgiving was filled with happy memories.

    I wanted to go to the parade, but I don't know how to navigate over there when there's an event going on. I started to catch the bus, but decided I didn't want to be trying to find my way around in the cold. If I knew exactly where to go, I would have gone.

Maybe you can give me some pointers and I'll take the family to the next one.
