December 1

Thursday, December 01, 2011

My goal for December is to amp it up. I have been lax lately in exercise and in making healthy food choices. I've only been doing about 30 minutes a day of cardio and skipping most of the ST. Today, I determined to step back into the driver's seat and take control. I am committed to doing the 30 day shred during the month of December. I will do 30 minutes or more of another cardio exercise each day. I will do strength training at least 3x a week and I will do 100 push ups daily.

I will make healthy choices in my eating . . . and maybe it is time to pull out the food scale and the measuring cups and spoons too so I can be in control of my portions.

Water is never a problem! That is my best area! LOL!!!

I will try to get more rest . . . right now I average between 5 - 5 1/2 hours per night.

I desire to be joyful and not stressed this holiday season. Things DO NOT have to be perfect. Peace, love, and joy are what I desire as I enjoy celebrating the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ!

5% winter challenge begins this Saturday!!! BRING IT ON!!!

BTW, water is my best area too!! emoticon Very natural and has been most of my adult life--now if I could make choosing an apple over ice cream as natural a habit, I'll be one happy camper!!!! emoticon {{{love and hugs, sweet friend}}} Susan

I love your goals - I think they are attainable. I'm with you on the rest... I rarely get enough sleep - just never have. Please give me your secrets if you discover on how to do that!

I've had this problem for over a year and haven't been able to get any tech help or answers. It is very unmotivating, to say the least. I've tried unsubscribing and resubscribing, nothing has worked. Let me know if you find a fix. Happy Thanksgiving! Deb

As the day begins

Wednesday, November 23, 2011

Good Morning! It is a chilly morning here, but the sun promises to bring a rise in the temperatures and a brightness to the day. We are having our Thanksgiving dinner and celebration today. My parents will be arriving early afternoon; my DS and DIL will be over later this morning. We had planned to eat around 2:00, but DS #3 has to work until 3:30 and DS#2 will work until 4:30 or 5:00. I did prep work yesterday, so just the actually get down and do the cooking today. I think it will be a pretty layed back day . . . no pressures, just enjoying the day and the family.

So, I am heading off to workout before the rest of the family emerges from their cozy beds! Wishing all of you a blessed day!

4 months later and getting ready for Thanksgiving

Sunday, November 20, 2011

Yikes! It has been a LONG time since I have made an entry! Life has been moving fast and furious! I can't believe Thanksgiving is this week. My parents are planning a visit this holiday, and maybe by sister and her family too. They haven't decided yet. We will be celebrating the day prior, on Wednesday. DS and DIL will be with us on Wednesday and with her side of the family on Thursday. It works out nicely this year, since DH birthday is on Wednesday, we will have a double celebration. On Thursday, we can have leftovers! And I can check out the shopping ads and see if I want to head out at midnight shopping . . . pretty soon the stores with be opening on Thanksgiving Day to begin the Black Friday sales. I think I would rather skip the sales and enjoy the day, remembering why I am celebrating and why I am thankful.

So, tomorrow, I will cleaning house and hopefully getting the laundry caught up. (My washer has been down for a week emoticon It needs a new seal. hoping the part will be in tomorrow! I don't want to hit the laundry lounge again!) Tuesday I will be grocery shopping and beginning food prep. Wednesday, I'm hoping to head off to Bible Study Fellowship in the morning, but that will depend on how the dinner is coming along and when the folks will arrive!

It will be a busy week . . . so If I don't make it back to blog again this week, I'm wishing you all A Thanksgiving full of blessing, good times, good memories and good food! emoticon(keep drinking your water and don't over induldge!)

I'll try to make another entry before another 4 months pass!

I am just amazed about this Thanksgiving holiday you have in the US. We don't have it here, and had to look it up in Wikipedia. But it looks like to be a common thing in the World, that a holiday means lots of eating. :-)

Enjoy the family and have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

I enjoy the Black Friday shopping. My DD and I go together and get in lots of walking as one of the places we go is an outlet mall and it is all outdoors (Yep we have frozen our tails off but we still go!) and we walk between stores and don't wait in may lines that are really long. Enjoy you time and use some of that walking as added exercise, plus wieght lifting carring all the packages!

YAY!!!

Friday, July 29, 2011

My YAY!!! Today is my "new" treadmill is here!!! I sure could have benefit from it earlier in the week, since we have had so much rain. But, I'm thankful we were able to pick it up yesterday. I had a nice early morning run on it today!!! I do perfer to be outside, but it was still dark and hubby doesn't like me out in the dark by myself! Add in the fact that we live on a highway and they are doing road construction; it's not a pretty mix for running outside! So . . . I'm a happy camper today! YAY!!! emoticon

So glad you like it, I only walked, but it was old and sometimes stopped suddenly. Not very safe really and a bit boring. I would probably like one that worked correctly.

I agree that that treadmill will be awesome in so many ways! It may be boring at times, but it is better than no cardio! And you can totally send rain our way! I didn't know there was anywhere in the country with excess rain!
