Ugh!!!

Sunday, May 08, 2011

I felt a cold coming on yesterday. Today, it has hit full force, giving me an achy body, sore throat, stuffy nose, and a head that weighs 100 lbs!! Not much sparking for me today and I don't think I'll be moving much either. Resting up today so I can be ready for tomorrow. Happy Mother's day to all my spark mommies!!!

Yuck! I just got over one and the only good thing about a cold is that it feels so good when it goes away. Lots of liquids, my friend and take care of yourself.

Yikes!!!!

Saturday, May 07, 2011

I had a bit of a shock this morning. I stepped on the scales to weigh myself for the Spring 5% challenge that begins today, and . . . . YIKES!!!!! What happened this week? I was up 7 lbs!!!! Where did that come from? Hmmmm . . . the suger cookies that I made this week? The flavored wine that I have had a couple of nights? The "little" taste test of food as I prepared it? The venti frappicino that hubby brought to me yesterday? The crackers and pretzals that I have had a craving for? It all adds up, doesn't it? I should not be surprised. Instead of being discouraged, I think I will take this as a kick in the pants to get me on the right track as I begin the challenge today!

That said, "LET"S GO DAISIES!!!"

Now that the challenge is up and running again you will no doubt dump those 7 pounds in no time!! I think the time off inbetween the challenges serves as a break for some and that is when those pesky pounds creep back up on us!!

That'll happen, don't worry. It looks like you had a lot of foods with high sodium content this week, that may have contributed. I had a real problem with that myself this week; I keep track of my sodium on my nutrition page.
Don't be discouraged -- get going! emoticon emoticon

Good job at not letting this be a setback. Agree with JOHNWBROCKSR777, write it down. Use the nutrition tracker to log what you eat. Everything! It will really help. It can be a pain in the but, but it works.
Keep Sparking.

At least you know what you ate and I will bet you don't have that combination again for a while. Maybe one special treat a week. And yes weight will fluctuate and this could be water gain also. So keep looking forward and make good choices and it will disappear just like it appeared!

Go Daisies!

It's Sunday! YAY!!!

Sunday, February 27, 2011

Good Morning Friends!!

I'm up and moving today. I've had my quiet hour and I've exercised too. I'm preparing to go to church with my family. After that, we'll do brunch and then I'm off to relax, read and take a nap!!! LOL!!! Love nap time on Sundays!! I'll be making some pizza for dinner tonight. Not sure if I will partake or not. I might just have a salad. I seem to crave those more than pizza! I hope each of you have a relaxing Sunday too! It is a great day to recharge our batteries and prepare for the coming week! I ready to make it a great 2nd week of the 5% challenge!! Go Daisies! emoticon emoticon

Glad you re-charged your batteries! My in-laws used to take a nap on Sunday after church and I thought that was them being "old". Now I take a nap on Sunday afternoons too. LOL
(and I'm not the LEAST bit old !) emoticon Good luck with your challenge.

FRIDAY?????

Friday, February 25, 2011

Well, this was not the way the week was to go! I had great intentions and I was off and running with the new 5% challenge. What I didn't count on was a major breakdown in the phone cable leaving me without internet since Monday! emoticon I was set to post and read blogs, as well as eat clean and exercise. emoticon emoticon emoticon Since I couldn't get on line, I wasn't blogging or posting. I did good on eating and exercising Monday and Tuesday. But on Wednesday, all of those snackie things were calling my name and I listened to them!!! emoticon Oh well, I guess it was what God had planned for me as far as not being on line (not the snack food! emoticon) I did get a lot accomplished this week, and I really didn't do that poorly regarding food and exercise. I did miss all of you my spark friends! emoticon So, today I'm jumping in and trying to catch up my trackers and e-mails! (do you have any idea how many e-mail one can get in 5 days!!! emoticon

See you later Sparkers!!! SMILE!!!

Sunday . . . a day of worship and rest

Sunday, February 20, 2011

Good Morning Sparkers! Yikes was it hard to get up today! I desired to stay in my warm, cozy bed . . . but being lazy was not an option! I have found if I don't get up in the mornings before my family, then I don't get my quiet time with the Lord in or get my work out in. I always am thankful that I didn't give into the temptation of the bed!

Yesterday went well as far as the exercise and calorie intake. I'm on track for the challenge! One of the best parts of the day was getting to know my fellow team mates and encouraging them in their goals. Challenge leaders: I think this was a terrific way to begin the challenge. We can get to know our team better and build stronger bonds.

Today, I will exercise this morning and then head off to church. I have the opportunity to teach the 2 - 3 yr olds today! After a quick brunch with my family, it's off to nap time for me. Sunday is my day of rest. I always take Sunday afternoons to recharge my battery and get ready for the week!

So, friends, put a song in your heart and a smile on your face. With drive and determination move and eat clean today! Spend some time with the Lord, thanking Him . . . for you were fearfully and wonderfully made!!

Go Daisies!!! emoticon

Glad you have worked out a good schedule that works for you.

I have found that if I don't exercise and have devotion time first thing in the morning then it doesn't usually get done.

Good luck with the 2-3 year olds! That is such a wonderful age at church. emoticon They just love to go to church. They are so cute and they are really learning alot even tho it doesnt seem like it. LOL
