And so it begins . . .

Saturday, February 19, 2011

Ok, here we are at the beginning of a new challenge. What do I hope to accomplish?

1. exercise daily - do either a workout video ( one of sparks bootcamps, 30 day shred or shred with weights) 30 minutes or more of cardio (biking, running, walking)

2. Drink 8 or more glasses of water per day

3. Strength training at least 3 times a week

4. 100 push ups daily

5. Quick fire challenge

6. Eat clean and within my calorie range (1200 - 1500)

7. Be in God's Word first thing each morning, and have unspeakable joy each day! No matter what. Trust that ALL things are in God's hands and in his control.

I think my expectations and goal are woven together. I desire to do this so I will be healthier, I will feel better, and I will look better too!

Starting weight: 116

Goal weight: 110

I think that meets the requirements!!

Ok Daisies!!! Let's go!!! Let's Rock this Challenge!!! emoticon emoticon

Logical reason

Thursday, February 17, 2011

A friend sent this to me, thought I'd share.

I knew there was a logical reason for all this weight.

At last I know why I've got fat hips! When taking a shower I often use the rest of my shampoo to lather myself. Yesterday I read what was written on the bottle: "For extra volume and body." What a shock! No wonder it's so difficult to keep my weight under control. From now on I will use dish washing liquid for showering. It claims, "Dissolves fat that is otherwise difficult to remove."

Day to celebrate

Friday, October 01, 2010

My sister and brother in law are celebrating their anniversary today. I don't remember too much about their wedding, I'm sorry to say. I was the matron of honor, I should have been actively involved. The problem was on the day of their wedding, my daughter, our first child, was 15 days old. We had to travel 16 hours to get from our home to the place where the wedding was held. My focus was not on my sister and her special day, but on all the things that go along with being a new mom . . . and traveling. I don't remember anything about the rehersal or rehersal dinner. I remember bits and pieces of the ceremony and nothing of the reception. I had an opportunity to talk to my sister today about her special day. No hard feelings from her, she was just glad that we were there . . . and that I fit into my matron of honor dress!!

Wow.. having a 15 day old baby and having so much else on your plate at that time would have been overwhelming. Sounds like you did a great job with everything and sounds like you & your sister are both very sweet. Enjoy your weekend.

September 30th

Thursday, September 30, 2010

Wow! Last day of September, 9 months gone out of the year. Three to go until we begin another new year. Time sure flies! I joined sparks in January; it has been a terrific 9 months. No, I haven't met my weight loss goals, and I yo - yo some weeks. I feel so much better though. I'm more toned, I'm working harder, exercising more and I'm eating better too. I haven't baked much at all this year, in fact the whole family is eating healthier. Sweets don't have the same appeal as they use to have for me. I had frozen custard 1 time this summer, where normally is it a weekly or bi weekly treat. With the cooler weather coming in, I have had a craving for hot chocolate!!! Anyway, with September gone, we will be gearing up for the big push of football snacks, holiday foods and parties! Bring on the challenges so I can keep in line and strive to meet each challenge!

It Hump Day!

Wednesday, September 29, 2010

Ahhh . . . It has been a busy day. I began with quite time and workout. After a shower, it was on to fixing breakfast and packing lunches. It was on to Bible Study Fellowship after the school drop off. We are studying the book of Isaiah this year. I am learning so much! After class today we had fellowship. It is a great time to get together and share what God is teaching us from the lessons and how we can apply it to our lives. It is amazing how God shows us the parallels from our lives and the Bible. Once home, there was dinner to fix, children to pick up and drop off, and of course . . . Catch up on my Sparks!!! I'm off to read my Bible study notes and do my homework, then it will be bed preparations and two days left in the week!!!! WooHoo!! Tomorrow is a run today! Yay!!

I will be so glad when this week is over. As anyone who read my Blog alredy know, DH and I left Maine on Monday and have had rain all the way. We are in southern North Carolina, and it is still raining. We will be home tomorrow (Satellite Beach, FL) but I'm told rain is predicted for that area tomorrow as well as the area in between. Looks like another day of driving in the rain. Boy will I be glad when this week is over. emoticon
