My 1000 calorie workout!Monday, May 30, 2011
Ever since February, when my aunt introduced me to the joy that is a heart-rate monitor, I have been wondering what it would take to burn 1000 calories. So I've been pushing for it. Last weekend I thought I had it, I ran 5 miles, walked a bit, did some abs and stretch.... I felt great sure I was there. Checked my stats, EEK, 966 calories. So close! ![]()

WooHoo! Thanks for this blog. I'm shopping for a heart rate monitor watch right now to use as a training tool while training as a runner. I'll use it to check calories burned also.

... but this morning I ran 3.25 miles without stopping to walk. If my calculations are correct that is just a smidge over 5K!! Woo Hoo, that is a goal I have been shooting for for quite awhile. I think I'm ready to enter myself into an actual 5K.

A 5k is 3.1 miles. Great job on the run!

That is wonderful. I would keep doing the 3.25 over and over without stopping, then watch your time and each week see if you can beat it. Go for it! Report Inappropriate Comment |
