I pedge, too!

Monday, August 05, 2013

My Pledge:

Today, I promise I will not quit.

I pledge that no matter, how many ups and downs I pass through, I will continue on my journey.

I pledge to make a NEW START today, and forgive myself for my past, and to stop being so critical of myself.

I pledge to take control of myself, to stop making excuses, and stop blaming other people or situations.

I pledge to treat myself as I would my best friend, because that is who I am.

I pledge to stay in the race and to be a WINNER!

Birthday Celebrations at our house!

Tuesday, July 30, 2013

Today my baby is 17 and yesterday he had his first day as a senior! He got his new gaming keyboard that he had wanted this morning before school and the rest of his gifts he is getting afterschool. It is tradition in our home to have whatever you want for you birthday dinner - I was preparing to cook dinner, whatever his request was, I get off lightly - he wants.........grilled cheese and tomato soup!!!!! Yay me!! I checked with him again this morning and that is still his request! Friends are coming to join us so I have warned them :)
His sister is helping look after some twins right now but she is coming home tonight dinner too and bringing strawberry cheesecake bites! Should be a great night. I am going to the gym later today so I will have my exercise in and can relax.

We all survived!

Monday, July 29, 2013

Yep! We have survived the first day with my son as a high school senior! I cannot believe that this day has come! Seems like just yesterday he was my baby :) It doesn't help that he does not look like a senior either. He turns 17 tomorrow!

Summer break is officially over! emoticon

I made the most of my time today, did my online schooling this morning and hit the gym this afternoon! Did 30 mins elliptical then 30 mins with trainer, followed by another 30 mins on elliptical - except my trainer added some resistance and I certainly felt it! emoticon

I had the experience this month of telling my son he was now as old as his grandmother claimed until two of her daughters passed her (29). They do, indeed, grow up so fast, and while you wouldn't want to stand in their way... don't you want to cherish the child in each of them?

Having a nice weekend

Sunday, July 28, 2013

Have had a nice weekend. Started yesterday with a surprise birthday for my son. He was surprised to see a couple of his friends that he had not seen for a while. His real birthday is on Tuesday but he goes back to school tomorrow. He is a senior this year - where have the years gone? He is going to be 17. For his birthday, all he wants for his birthday dinner is grilled cheese and tomato soup! emoticon

Went to church this morning then this afternoon have been doing school work emoticon so have had a quiet day. Now having a quiet evening with my husband. I go back to the gym tomorrow emoticon

    Hi Chris;

Sounds like a nice stress free weekend, enjoy time with your precious family. Your son sounds very down to earth, wanting comfort food for his birthday. The year ahead will change him in so many ways, enjoy each precious moment, because time flies when life gets busy.
Take care & be well may you have a great week. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Sounds like a wonderful way to spend the weekend. My oldest are entering 8th grade in a little less than a month and I just can't get over how quickly they have grown up on me. The older I get, the faster time flies especially when it involves my children. I hope you have a great week!
