Progress Report

Progress report on my fitness......

Today completed 6.5 mins on elliptical (remember that I add another 30 secs each time) - did not need to push myself to stay the time, that being said I worked hard but not to the point of pushing past my limit!! This is HUGE for me!

Tried to do a push up today with my trainer! Hilarious! Could not even do one - does half count?? I told her that I do the SP wall push ups, so that is what we did, she is sure that eventually I will have the strength for floor ones, but for now I am happy with the wall :) She showed me how to do narrow wall push ups and ohhhhh! I felt the difference. emoticon

Tried some chest presses today too! My trainer was right there helping me! Have I mentioned how much I love her??!! emoticon She knows just what I need and she is so supportive! She is always coming up with new ways for me to workout, I love the variety!

Ended with 10mins on treadmill, then 3 mins cool down. Did great! Sweat was dripping from my hair! But I did it!!! Was not too hard either :) Kayla (my trainer) was thrilled with my progress and said that 2 weeks ago I could not of done this!

Also when I was exercising, she said that she saw my bicep for the first time!! emoticon

emoticon I was just getting close to 15 min. on the elliptical without needing a break so I applaud you for reaching that 6.5 minutes and increasing 30 seconds each time! That's a great way to go at it! Sounds like you have a great trainer!

Results of my spring challenge

Saturday, July 06, 2013

Sorry Daises but I did not make my 5% weightloss goal :( emoticon

But I am still pleased with my results, had been doing well until I joined the gym then the weight loss slowed down, which my trainer warned me about - she told me not to pay attention to the scales emoticon

So here are my results

Weight Loss 6.6 pounds
Inches lost 10.5"
Body Fat 2%

The biggest inches lost were my bust! Here is the breakdown emoticon

Bust 3"
Hips 2.5"
Waist 2.25"
Upper Arm 1.75" (and I can see my muscles!) emoticon
Thigh 1"
Calves 0

Looking forward to the summer challenge :)

Congrats, Christine! I am glad you are pleased with your results! I know it can be hard to set goal and not reach it, but it is good to recognize when updated goals are needed. I am impressed with your progress! I have decided to stay away from the scale. Since I started working out, that thing has become my enemy! So, no weights for at least one more week and then I'll see where I stand! You keep up the good work! :)

You did so awesome!!! Look at all those NSV you had:
You joined a gym
You are working with a trainer
You had a 6.6 pound weight loss
You lost 10.5"
You decreased your Body Fat by two percent 2%
You've got muscles!!

Now how about all those other things....how much more exercising were you getting before compared to during your time in the challenge? And was it more consistent exercise? Also you probably have more energy, drank more water, ate better and as a health care professional you know the benefits you are going to reap from a healthier lifestyle.

Then, what about your time at work? I remember someone bogging that they took healthy snacks and planned their meals better, do you remember that?

No my friend, you might have not lost that 5% but you were successful in so many different ways. And your trainer is right, it's not always about the scale. You definitely are a success story; you did awesome in the challenge, I was thrilled that you were a Daisy and I hope you'll consider being a Daisy again!!

I don't care is I weigh 200# if I wear a size 10! The inches are far more important than the numbers on a scale. Congrats on your success!

emoticon The Inches Lost and seeing Muscles is WAY Better than getting a Lower Number on the Scale!! And losing 6.6 pounds when you just started Weight Training is AWESOME!!

Hope I can walk tomorrow!

Friday, July 05, 2013

Had a great workout with my trainer today! Started with beating my record on the elliptical! For those that have been following my training sessions, I had been struggling to get one min on the elliptical! That first time I pushed myself to 5 mins, but was really done at 1 min! Well today I easily did 3.5 mins and my goal was 6 mins :) Each time I am trying to increase by 30 seconds emoticon
After that I worked with my trainer for an hour, working with weights, medicine ball finishing up with jumping jacks with the medicine ball and step ups. emoticon emoticon
Then when I got home, I decided to do some squats and lunges! Crazy, I know! Lately I am turning everything into an exercise, I think I am addicted! My butt already is feeling it!

Good job!
I feel SO uncoordinated on the elliptical, I would rather run for an hour.
Go with what works for you.

That citizenship test will be a rite of passage. I hope that natural born U.S. citizens would be as aware of their freedoms and not give them up easily.

Away working, missing home!

Tuesday, July 02, 2013

I am away working, I have limited internet access when I am away and it makes me miss all my SP buddies!
I am feeling so saddened by the death of the hotshots in the AZ fire. I am from a small town and our hotshots are back from a fire but then are heading off to this deadly fire! I have a friend that is a hotshot so we are all feeling a little apprehensive, therefore I am asking for prayer for all the firefighters out there fighting wild fires all over.
I will be back home on Wednesday and am looking forward to being able to spark properly!

It is very sad about the fire fighters. Didn't know there were more hotshots out there. I thought it was only that group. Will pray and hope all of the fire fighters are safe for the remainder of these fires. It seems like there have been so many fires already it is horrible to hear of more. emoticon emoticon
