Busy Days

Saturday, July 31, 2010

Well, I have had a busy 2 days....
Yesterday was my son's 14th birthday as well as our yard sale! The birthday boy had a good day despite having to go to school......he got his 1st cellphone.....in our house the rule is that once you start high school that you can have a phone so this was the day! He had researched what he wanted all ready on the internet (that is the kind of kid that he is!) so we knew which one to get :) When he got home from school I called his phone and told him to answer the ringing phone.....oh he was soooo excited! Last night we went to bible study and he asked "what shall I take with me?" when I asked what he meant he said "Well I have never been out with a cellphone before, do I need to take my charger?" PRICELESS!!

Our yard sale went well yesterday but we closed early today due to the rain, but we were still happy with the results and YES it was a lot of work! Of course now that we have packed it all up the sun is out again! We are going to give most of what is left to one of the girls from church who is having a yard sale next weekend!

So I am going to be relaxing the rest of my weekend!

Well today anyhow.....promised the birthday boy that we would do something tomorrow afternoon for his birthday!

Love Christine

Yard Sale

Thursday, July 29, 2010

Well I have been busy today and am sure that I have been sweating off the calories in this humidity! This morning I went and got my hair cut - hate it when I have to wear a hair band cause it is hanging in my face! Also ordered the birthday cake - my baby is going to be 14 tomorrow :( He also is getting a cellphone - the rule is that you get one when you start high school and that was yesterday! So went and ordered that today too - because we live in a small town we have to wait for it to come overnight so he will get that after school tomorrow :) His cake is also a cellphone cake - what happened to the dinosaur cakes???? I have also been putting everything out for our yard sale in the morning....that is why I have been sweating it up! I now have everything set up in the garage, just some last minute pricing to be done and some signage for the kids to do when they come home from school.

Needless to say I have been drinking my water in this humidity! YAY me! Yesterday I had a wonderful time catching up with my friend, Melissa, at Starbucks! I had a skinny vanilla latte and it was good - and Melissa it did not put up my blood pressure! In fact it was 108/80 - so maybe we should hang out more and drink coffee!

Well, now have to hit the stores for last minute birthday necessities!

Bye for now
Christine

I'm with PuffySails. Yard Sales are wonderful when you are just visiting. I admire you for all the work you did getting ready, working at it, and cleaning up afterward.
Now you can rest for awhile. emoticon

I went through that a couple years back. High School ARGHH

My baby graduated last year. When I was going through the adds in the paper, I didn't know whether to sit and cry or stand up and jump a jig. No more school shopping. YAY! No more baby WHAA!

This is such a Beautiful way to remember and celebrate your little girl. And to ensure that she is ALWAYS a part of your family.
emoticonI have always heard that Butterflys are symbolic of the Resurrection. Even if that is not true, they are definitely a symbol of a new, changed life.
Thank you for sharing Melissa's Story and her Balloon. emoticon emoticon
