Changed my SP page.....again!

Sunday, September 11, 2011

I am feeling better today and I thank everyone for their well wishes and spark goodies! I am taking a restful day so that I can go back to work tonight. I have 2 nights to work as I have called off the last 3. This bug sure did kick me in the butt! It all started on labor day and is still hanging around, but only slightly. I now just have the cough and a slight sniffle, YAY! My sinuses have pretty much cleared. I had called my doctors office on friday as I was feeling worses everyday and was having shortness of breath, he changed my meds and I have been doing better every day since. Slower than I had planned! I hate calling out at work, we are such a small unit that it is hard when someone cannot be there, but thankfully I work with great nurses who covered me - thanks!
I am flying to Seattle on Wed morning so that is another big reason I was stressed that all this getting better was taking too long. My husband and I are going to pick up a BIG truck that he has bought from there, then we are driving it back to AZ. The great part about the trip is that I am going to be seeing my friend, Marcie, who moved back there over a year ago! She is coming to get us from the airport and we are spending the day together, then going to get the truck on Thursday!
As, you can see, I have changed my SP page - must be a sign that I am getting better!
Feeling ready for fall and all the colors to change.....we have started our high school football and marching band season, so I am all ready! In a couple of weeks is the homecoming parade and then the seniors football game! We have to present our seniors at the game - Rachel has been planning for this since she was a freshman! That is what I mean by my juggling act - I am trying to find coverage at work to make sure that I make it, it means so much to her and to us!!

Glad you are feeling better. I know what you mean about missing work. I work on a small unit to- 2-3 nurses per shift so I never want to let my fellow nurses or babies down.

Safe travels.

Sick and Hurt :(

Tuesday, September 06, 2011

I am unwell, have a fever 101.4 emoticon have had the chills too, my throat is a little sore and I have an irritating cough! Went to the doctors this morning cause I had some other aches and pains - my right shoulder and elbow have been bothering me!
So off I go to see my lovely doctor........I get a shot in the butt and started on antibiotics, but as if that is not enough, I have hurt my rotator cuff and have to stay away from Curves for 2 weeks!!!!! emoticon I asked if I could go to do leg exercises, but my husband does not trust me!! So I am going to try walking when I feel better.
I am so worried about what will happen with my weight loss goals! I am thinking that I will cut my calories back while I am not exercising 100%.
On a bright note, I took my daughter for her drivers permit today and she passed!!! I am so excited for her as she was super nervous! emoticon emoticon Now the fun begins!

congrats to daughter. Sorry you are not feeling up to par. Rest while you can, you can find other exercises such as walking until you can go to Curves.

that sounds like a good plan, to cut back your calories while you can't go to curves, do you know how many you burned there a day? If not estimate Relax, and Heal Limit salt intake, and drink plenty of water.

Feel Better!

I'm sorry you feel so lousy! I would kill to be able to join a Curves but there are not many times that I can move without a walker and I don't have a car available during the day and can't see well enough to drive at night. So I do what I can right here. But I do hope you feel better fast!

Yes, cut your calories back a bit when you can't get the exercise in. When I broke my toe, I just changed my exercise calorie burn on spark, and it told me what calorie range to eat, and while I lost slower, I still lost.

Get well soon! Congrats to daughter on the driver's permit! Tons of fun! Hope that shot in the butt as well as all other meds kick that cold in the butt! And don't worry so much about the working out. Just get better, then everything else can catch up.
PS - I too went to the doctor today. I didn't share the part about my shoulder hurting... I think it happened while working out at Curves too a few months back?. I got antibiotics, an inhaler, "tesselon perles"??? and a med for depression. I hope all of it works quick. I'm not real easy to live with right now. Grumpy.

Birthdays and Celebrations are over :)

Monday, September 05, 2011

I have had a great time being home with my family, celebrating my daughter's birthday! It is the last birthday for the year! Now back on track, though I did not do too bad with the celebrations :) Today we have a labor day picnic with our church family. emoticon
I went for a long walk with my daughter this morning as Curves is closed for labor day. It was a good time to just be together.
I am off work until Thursday, so am making the most of my days off as well as getting an early start on my schoolwork.
Happy Labor Day!

Glad to hear your doing good and feeling good about your celebrations sometimes it easy and sometimes it hard depending on the areas of stress hunger and mood swings going through for me anyways that determine how good I am right now I am going through menopause so my hormones are all over the place no matter what I eat I never feel quite like I did before always wanting something extra but can't figure it quite out but I will only eat a little of this and that if it sweets I don't like to eat them but I will eat a cheese cake slice that's chocolate to try to curb it I really eat that when to
Visits he visits 2 times a month now dang him this past time I did good passed on it but if I get insanely moody or crazy from cramping and advil or Motrin don't help I gave cave just for the guilt of feeling bad but it hurts when every 2 weeks I hope I get out of this soon it's been 2 months I hope it's not tears like I've heard sad thing is my cramps wasn't even started till going through menopause but I did know not to walk with canvas style tennis shoes like keds made out of material not leather boy I got electric feet I didn't understand that in high school it was crazy but only time I had those was while raining or a heavy dew on ground after my babies was born never cramped never did till about 3 months ago and boy my right ovary gets shooting pains I just want to die at times but I take advil it gies away in a few hours I take it before going to bed so I can sleep

Bad Choice

Tuesday, August 30, 2011

So here I am sitting at work with my sparking friend, when I realise that my calories are under for the day and I had been to Curves.....what is a girl to do?? Then I remember that I also need to get in more fluids arrrgggg! So I eat something...quick before midnight! Oh yeah! My calories are now just under my bottom of my range! Then I drink my iced tea - oh no!!! 347 calories for 32oz brisk raspberry iced tea! WHAT???? That is it - I am not getting any anymore! So now it is after midnight and a new day :)
Bring it on!
Gotta go and do some exercise now before I see my patient! emoticon

Isn't it beautiful to have the oncoming of a new day? To let the freshness wash over us, carrying all of yesterday away. Giving us a fresh new start. Oh the gift of a new day!

Thanks so much for being a night nurse! I've done my part on that shift and though I truly enjoyed my time there, I've moved on to a different career, using my knowledge to create medical software for Home Care and Hospice clinicians. But, my heart sings for clinicians every where who touch the lives of patients and their caregivers. You are doing such blessed work!

Highlights in my hair!

Monday, August 22, 2011

I am 49 years old and have always put a color in my hair myself, today I decided to pamper myself and went to the hairdressers! Got the works! Hair colored and then highlights done for the first time! I love it! I was there for over 3 hours! I took a photo when I got home, it is not the best, but here it is, hope you can see the highlights, they look better in real life!
