The other night at work I signed up one of my co-workers for SP! She is so impressed with the website DUH! She has got me looking at the website with fresh eyes! Now we sit at work comparing how much protein, fat etc we have logged! We are even doing SP strength exercises! Last night we even broke out a jumping rope, but it was too small - we work in pediatrics! So I am bring mine from home when I come next week, as well as my exercise bands! I am loving having someone to hold me accountable and I have the added incentive as being the good example! She is a vegetarian so it is funny comparing our proteins!! We are having fun and we even have our resp therapist thinking he might join is in our exercises and he is ex military!!

This what I discovered and posted on my school discussion thread about cherries.....
I am going to be promoting cherries…..cherries….yes cherries! Fresh, frozen, dried or in juice form. Cherries are a “super fruit” growing on bushes; they are small red berries that should be picked when ripe. Cherries are low in calories; fat free; sodium free; cholesterol free; good source of vitamin C and potassium. Cherries are also full of antioxidants, believed to reduce inflammation in conditions like arthritis, gout and heart disease. It is also believed that cherries can help with muscle recovery post exercise. Research has been conducted on cherries and their benefits on health. It has also been shown that cherries can lower risk factors for heart disease, and in 2007 research was conducted that found cherry-enriched diets lowered total blood cholesterol and triglycerides in animals. Cherries also have an effect on reducing body weight and especially the belly fat that increases risks of heart disease.
We had to make an ad after gathering information, am going to try and post my ad too!
Fresh, dried, frozen, or juiced; they are good for your heart! The new “super fruit” has arrived! Cherries have properties to lower cholesterol, without the fishy burps! Purchase at your local food store!
I had a cute picture of cherries with the stalks in a heart but it wouldn't come over with the ad :(
hope that this link works, it is my cherry picture!

I am glad to report that I have submitted my paper for this weeks online class, so now I can spark! For my class I am having to read the book "The Omnivore's Dilemma", have any of you read it? I have had problems getting into it, but when I do, I am amazed at what I am reading! Basically the book is addressing our diets and starts off with how we have lost our foundation of what is right to eat, we have become so confused by the media....bread or no bread, eggs or no eggs, fat or not etc.....so it is right up my street! LOL!
This week my reading was about organic foods and how they are processed - sure blew my theories out of the water! Anyhow, I have not turned vegetarian yet! One of the doctors that I work with saw me reading the other night and asked if I had converted yet! :)
It is funny how I am so much in agreement with what this writer is saying!
On the school front, my studies are going well, I have been struggling with this paper as it is an advanced english writing paper and not nurse related, but it is a requirement! I am getting there and I have the best proof reader in the world - my 16 year old daughter! She just told me that my paper was great and that she could not really find any mistakes! I submitted my paper to turnitin and this is a website that looks for plagarisms and I had 2% of my paper and that was the name of the book! Now to see what mark I get! Also the max words were 750 and I wrote 747!!!
Also, did anyone know that last week they announced a foodplate rather than the food pyramid? As a pediatric nurse I love the plate concept, why didn't I come up with this????
Well, I work again tonight, so am going to try and get a little more rest before having to get ready for work! Am just excited to have my paper submitted!
PS, forgot to mention that as part of my schoolwork I researched cherries this week and they have amazing properties for our health, plus I love cherries! Will my findings later.....
